'Alicia, I got a house close to Uncle Patrick. It's not much but it's comfortable and there's a room for Kolin, I'm sure he'll like it there.'
'Eric, where is this coming from?' I walked to where he stood.
'I need a break, Alicia. I need a break from your family and you. A month should do.' He smiled.
When we were in a relationship, there were no breaks but suddenly, the idea of a break sounded nice to him.
'This is not a joke or some fancy relationship, this is a marriage that has become a family. You can't put my son through so much traveling for your selfish reasons. I do not agree to this.' I said.
'He's my son too and I just want to spend time with him. It'll only be a month and we'll be back to living together.' His voice was firm.
There was no talking him out of the ridiculous idea, he had made his mind up.
