As the fight between the party members happened outside the building, Fluffles and Chuckles were fighting inside, having lured the cat by slowly backing up with each attack.
Chuckles' class, Spellblade, is the most balanced class in the game, having decent agility, strength, and magic, with their only weakness being the lack of skills. Trading in a skill set for stats that won't fall behind in the late game. One of their few skills is changing their weapons and armour between physical and magical. The only other skill available is creating a magical shield, thus relying on the Orb of Ice for additional skills.
Fluffles' claws would scratch upon the magical shield, striking what felt like solid air. Chuckles slashed at the cat, but she jumped back but suddenly felt herself float. Fluffles started twisting her body to land on the ceiling.
"W-what the?" Fluffles became disoriented when she realized she was walking on the ceiling, just as Chuckles jumped up after her. She would jump as well, ducking her head from the slash as her claws glow green and slice through the pig's side.
Chuckles was kneeling on the ceiling after being scratched, the poison spreading through his body as Fluffles looked up at him, understanding the gimmick of the building. It seemed whenever someone jumps, that person's gravity is inverted.
The two would run across the ceiling and floor, swords and claws clashing against each other as Chuckles led the cat to a set of stairs. He Leaps from the roof and lands on the stairs above Fluffles, pointing his sword at her.
"You're sure agile for a chunky thing," Fluffles mocked and slowly walked up the stairs.
"Getting cocky because you scratched me?" Chuckles scoffed, bringing up the magic shield to force Fluffles back.
While the magic shield had low physical defence, it had a unique ability allowing the user's weapon to pass through and attack the enemy. However, unlike a regular shield, it's only active for a few moments before entering a cooldown.
Fluffles smirks and sidesteps Chuckles' attack, grabbing his arm and jumping up, letting gravity pull her to the ceiling as she kicks off the roof straight to the bottom of the stairs, dragging Chuckles with her.
Fluffles rolled on top of Chuckles, slashing his eyes as he stabbed her in the gut with his sword. The slash from Fluffles inflicted blind on him, but being impaled on a blade caused her to lose a lot of health.
Chuckles managed to pull away and tackles Fluffles to the ground, he brings his blade down upon her, but the blind significantly reduces his accuracy. Fluffles brings up her claws and diverts the sword to the side since he didn't have her adequately pinned down. With blind in effect, Chuckles can't effectively block Fluffles' attack and gets impaled by her claws.
With both of them now at low health, the next few strikes look to be the deciding factor, but a weak gunshot changes that. Ashfire managed to catch up to Fluffles and fires at Chuckles, causing very little damage since her class isn't proficient with guns. Ashfire can equip them, but her shots were as strong as a rubber bullet. However, knowing it's now a two on one, Chuckles slowly stands up and puts his hands in the air.
"It seems I've lost," Chuckles admits.
The tension in Ashfire's body decreases as she feels relieved that the fighting is over. "I'm glad I made it in time."
"I didn't think your team was that strong," Chuckles compliments as the blind status wore off.
Fluffles stands up and looks at the party screen, seeing everyone else revived and were in town. "All this trouble because I called you a pig."
Before Chuckles could say anything else, Fluffles stabbed her claws into the back of his neck, dealing critical damage, and as she yanked out her claws, the pig collapsed to the floor, dead.
Ashfire's eyes open wide from Fluffles murdering a surrendered player. Chuckles' body soon disappeared as he respawns in town. "What was that?" Ashfire asked.
"He was my prey. I'm not letting him go because he surrenders," Fluffles coldly responds as she receives a private chat from Chuckles.
"You killed me!" Chuckles screamed as Fluffles opened the call.
"Yes, would you like me to do it again?" Fluffles sarcastically asked.
"What kind of player kills someone like that. You stopped attacking and even waited until I had my back turned before killing me." Chuckles complained.
"Is there a point to this conversation?" Fluffles sighed, getting annoyed with the talking pig.
"Look, how about when you come get your allies; we meet up in town," Chuckles suggested.
"Why would I go back when I could wait for my friends here? It's not too far away," Fluffles retorts.
"Because if I go to you, you might stab me in the back again!" Chuckles cursed.
"I would, to make sure you don't attack me first. Alright, I'll come back if you help us with our quest," Fluffles states.
"Fine, I'm sure whatever quest has you going to that building isn't too hard. I'll PM our location to meet up," Chuckles agrees as the call ends soon after.
"Fluffles, what are you two talking about?" Ashfire asked, unable to hear Fluffles, as being in a private chat mutes you from public chat.
"We're heading back to town since piggy wants to talk," Fluffles smirks.
"He wants to talk after you murdered him? Ever since I met up with you, you've started attracting strange people," Ashifre mentioned.
"And the one who blows themselves up fits right in, doesn't she," Fluffles joked as they walked over to the fast travel tentacle as it picked them up and dropped them off at the town.
Detrix and the others were waiting outside the strange spawn point. It was a tower with two arms endlessly wrapped around it, its hands holding up a glowing orb in the sky.
"You all alright?" Fluffles asked, noticing everyone lost enough exp, making everything they gained from the last mission worthless.
"If we need XP, we could grind some of the monsters around here," Cynthes suggested.
"First, let's meet up with the pig; he wanted to talk about something," Fluffles stated as they headed over to a strange building. Most worlds would have it be like a restaurant or pub. This one had an illegible sign with things that were presumably tables on the ceiling, making everyone walk up the walls and sit on the makeshift chairs upside down.
"Glad you could make it," Chuckles states, seeming a bit salty still from his defeat. He sat in the center of his group; on his left were Deadmeat and Arxion, while on his right were Synxx and Shaed.
"What did you want, little piggy?" Fluffles taunted, causing Chuckles to glare.
Chuckles wished he had some rebuttal against Fluffles, but calling her Fluffy or Kitty sounded more cute than insulting, and any other word could result in a chat ban.
"Do you have something against him?" Detrix asked Fluffles in a PM, seeing the cat purposefully antagonize Chuckles.
"If he's going to pick a fight over an accident, I'm gonna hound him with it," Fluffles responds, smirking a little.
"What are you smirking at?" Chuckles asked before taking a deep breath. He didn't want to get angry and ruin their meeting. "I wanted to ask if you're going to create a guild in the future or join one. I'm from Eastern Fantasy and plan to make a guild there."
"We plan to make a guild in Urban Fantasy, though we wouldn't join yours even if we weren't," Fluffles sarcastically responds.
"Could you stop being hostile for a few minutes!" Arxion butts in, getting annoyed with Fluffles' antics.
"It was your group who started it!" Detrix shouts back.
"Stop!" Chuckles yells, making everyone quiet down. "I wanted to ask for an alliance in the future. Since our teams are about the same strength, I thought we could discuss it on equal terms."
"What do we get from this?" Ashfire asked on behalf of Fluffles.
"We both have small groups, while more famous people playing will have a larger guild than us," Chuckles explained.
"How will an alliance help this early in the game, and our guilds will be in different worlds anyway," Detrix questioned, not understanding Chuckles' intent.
"Alliances work best with an early foundation between friends and rivals," Chuckles states, almost growling the last word as he glares at Fluffles. "When we both have larger guilds, we'll have to fight against massive guilds, which neither of us will have the numbers for."
"And with an alliance, our combined strength will give us the numbers we need?" Fluffles finishes before thinking about his offer. "We don't have anything to lose, so we accept."
Chuckles reached out his hand to shake hands, solidifying the agreement, but Fluffles stared at the hand before looking up to Chuckles, "I'm not a dog; I don't shake."
