'Gah!'
This guy! I don't care if he's a Wyvern or whatnot, this guy's power is seriously no joke! Ether's fist swung toward me. I twisted my body. His fist cut through the air, my waist, and destroyed the building behind me.
Holy! Anarchy Angel is seriously saving me here, anyway... Now it's time for my counterattack! His eyes were focused on me, and I thought that it would work. The Iron Wyvern dove in toward me. His speed was fast but it was bearable to see through.
I used [Myriad Teleportation] and teleported behind him, followed up by Azure Flames. The flames were waved away. Ether's back was steel when I looked at him. He used that to block my flames.
'Shadow Spear!'
Shadows gathered in my hand and formed a spear as I made a throwing motion toward Ether, the Iron Wyvern. He closed in on me almost instantly; the spear was thrown off course. He kicked my face–I was able to block it–in that same position, Ether imbued his fist with some sort of fire magic. I raised my hand and used Magic Nullification. The flames dissipated. His fist stopped slightly before it reached my face.
'Magic Nullification, huh?'
'That's–right!'
I ducked, trying to sweep his legs. He saw it coming. Ether leapt backwards. Even if he did, I still got him. There was a cut on his leg. If I could've imbued the blade I used in poison, then it may have had a greater effect. He didn't seem to be affected by it at all.
Ether's attention seemed to be drawn elsewhere. He stayed poised as he took a relaxed posture.
'Looks like you have a friend running to you.'
He pointed behind me. Naïvely, I looked behind. A young boy in a white uniform really was running toward me. He seemed to be holding something black. It looked like a sword. Ah, a katana? The young boy who ran toward me was Guist.
'Oi, kid, take this!'
Prince Guist threw the katana at me. I caught it. Damn, this thing is probably larger than me, but seriously... why is there a katana in this world? That reminds me. Sirius and Arcana knew aikido too.
'What is this?'
'It's Python! The tournament's winner! At this point, there's no reason to keep it as a prize, so, use it! It'll be sure to help you in battle! Just draw the blade!'
Ah, that cursed blade.
'Go on, Archdemon. Draw it. I want to know whether that blade is fit for you and worthy of cutting me.'
What's up with all of these guys today? I want to take the katana out of its sheath, but Sirius said that some cursed weapons can curse the user.
«With the Ultimate Skill, Harbinger of Adversity, curses are more like buffs than debuffs.»
So, I'll be more powerful with a cursed weapon. Sweet! I guess it wouldn't hurt to keep the blade. And so, with my curious self, I grasped the katana's handle and pulled it from its sheath. The blade... It's black. It seemed like shadows were leaking from the blade.
['Well, I guess you're my Master.']
A female voice spoke.
Hm?
'Who's there?'
I said, out loud. I looked around, but I couldn't see anyone who would fit the profile of the voice. Prince Guist looked at me, perplexed, while Ether looked at me with an unwavering smile.
['I'm right here, Master.']
I felt a slight softness on my back. Turning, I saw a floating girl. She was cute. Her hair was pink and her eyes were a darker shade of purple. She wore black tight clothes.
['I won't lie. I'm shocked that my Master is a child. Moving on, why don't we start with introductions? I'll start. I'm Ouroboros, the soul housed in this blade, Python. Just call me, Ros. Within my time sealed, I thought that name sounded cuter and would fit me.']
This soul/spirit really talks a lot, doesn't she?
Ros winked at me. My mouth didn't move. Instead, I tried communicating with her the same way I do with Ai.
(I'm Altair Nox, and I'm not a child.)
A smirk peeked upon her face. She looked almost seductive. Her eyes moved to the humanoid Iron Wyvern. He waved. So, he can see Ros, huh.
['He can see me, meaning that he has Spiritual Eyes. What race is he?']
(He's a part of the Dragon race. He said he's an Iron Wyvern.)
Ros entered a thinking pose while drifting in the air. She then faced me.
['Yup. I'm guessing he's your enemy, isn't he?']
I nodded. Ros grabbed my shoulders and pushed me forward.
['Then get to fighting! Python will help you. I'll even guide you.']
'Gee. Thanks, Ros.'
I said before I engaged myself in battle. That encounter I just had, went too fast.
Charging toward Ether, I swung my black blade at him. He didn't dodge it. Ether used his arm to catch the sword as it dug into his forearm. At least it cut through.
'Nice, but sadly, not enough, Archdemon.'
['Shadow is the main element of Python. It should be able to cut through if you imbue it with Shadow Magic.']
In other words, it's like a chainsaw. I slowly put Shadow Magic into Python. The shadows thickened around the sharp edge of the blade, cutting through Ether's arm. His eyes widened as his limb dropped to the floor. Ugh, damn, that's fucking gross.
'Hm. Well, that is a problem. Ah, I have an idea. Sorry, Archdemon, but I will not be your opponent anymore. Lidar!'
Ether said to me, followed by him screaming something. It sounded like a name.
'I know!'
There was a response. Looking up, I saw him. He looked intellectual, similar to a librarian. He also was handsome which partially pissed me off. The man, named Lidar, laid out his hand and a large purple magic circle appeared. What came from it was something that I wouldn't expect to see.
'Now, Archdemon, I was not fighting you to protect the newbie, but for this. The large mid-ranked demon. We call it, Cerberus, the guardian of the Underworld.'
It looked like a large dog. It had small wings, and three dog heads, as well as, a chain and collar around each head. Things would get pretty dicey from here on out.
'Archdemon. Please, show us your power and the cursed weapon's power. If you defeat Cerberus, then we'll stop this Devil's Hour.'
Even though I don't want to face it, it's the best way to stop all of this chaos.
(Well, let's do this, Ros!)
['Alright!']
