Holy shit. Those are the only words I have to say at this point. I mean, that hot motherfucker in the air just summoned the guardian dog of the Underworld in this world–I don't know if that's how it works–and he's large as fuck.
['Getting cold feet now, Master?']
(Oh, would you shut up?)
But seriously, what person who just got reincarnated around three weeks ago wouldn't get cold feet when looking at this large beast. That thing probably easily surpasses the height of 30 feet. What's more, is its three heads. With those, it seems like it doesn't have any blind spots. Except... except for under its stomach, but it could still attack with its feet.
Then, suddenly, I got an idea.
(Hey, Ros, is there any way I can use ranged attacks if I imbue my magic with Shadow Magic?)
ROAR
The high-ranked demon roared, three times in succession, as it fully became conscious. All six of its eyes glowed red as it searched for its prey, eventually, Cerberus laid its eyes upon me.
['I'm glad you catch on fast.']
(Meaning, yes, right?)
['Yes, but you should be careful how you use your mana now. You used two Ultimate Skills and a bunch of other skills.']
How did she know about that? Anyways, let's see how much mana I have left. Ai, would you show me how much mana I have left?
«Mana capacity: 21,213/300,000»
Yeesh, only 21k left. How did I use up all of my mana?
«When you used [Calamity Angel, Auriel], it drained your mana, and even more so when it entered Stage 2, on top of that, you used two other Ultimate Skills and skills like Azure Flames and Lightweight.»
Note to self, [Calamity Angel, Auriel] should only be for dire situations and for when I actually have mana.
«[Calamity Angel, Auriel] adds an extra 20k mana to the user's capacity.»
Even that was used up. Oh, if it weren't for that extra mana, then I'd practically be empty, so I thank the Ultimate Skill, [Calamity Angel, Auriel] for that.
I slowly began to imbue mana into Python. After a short amount of time, the mana turned into shadows and radiated from the black blade itself. Cerberus started charging toward me, with all three heads viciously snapping at the air toward me.
I sliced the air; a straight line of shadows fired itself at Cerberus, slightly knocking it back. Sadly, it wasn't enough to cause a large cut, nevertheless, a scratch on the three-headed dog. This would be hard.
Wait, wait, wait, what the fuck is this dog doing?
It glared at me as something green escaped from the side of its mouth. If I remember back to when I got attacked by Carlos... Red flames escaped from Sakurako's mouth when she...
Almost instantly, I started to dash around the nearby buildings. I wasn't able to move as fast as before because Calamity Angel, Auriel was disengaged and my waist was injured, but despite that, I still continued jumping around. Because if I didn't then I'd be burnt to a crisp.
Why do green flames even exist?!
Cerberus turned around, the green flames were transferred from the middle head to the one on the right–it shot flames at me. The range was too wide. I can't dodge the flames. The only things left to do would be...
I stopped abruptly on the roof, feeling slight pain in my hips, I turned and held out my hand towards the green flames. From my hand, burst out blue flames. With the amount of mana I have left, this would be risky, but it's my only option.
As I shot Azure Flames at Cerberus, its green flames fanned around my blue flames and hit the sides around me.
«Mana Capacity: 18,720/300,000»
My mana is rapidly dropping too! I'm in big trouble right now!
I'm dead, so dead! This is a high-ranked demon I'm facing, a large one at that, and with its three heads, I'm assuming it has three times the amount of mana it would originally have and with my low amount of mana, I'm at a disadvantage. There's no way I can escape this.
Even if I stop shooting Azure Flames and use Lightweight to escape, the flames will catch me before I can even move. And if I decide to use Iron Body, I don't know if that works against flames but I'd get toasted either way.
I'm fucked! I'm so fucked. Well, might as well accept my death. There's only one thing I can do in the face of death... Stare right back at it. I glared at Cerberus. For some reason, it faltered slightly, but I didn't risk moving out of the way. Glaring back at death isn't helping. I'm so–
'Get away from Alty!'
I heard a familiar shout as I was nearing death.
BAM
There was the sound of a powerful blow. Cerberus was shot sideways into the remains of the arena, causing the rest of it to collapse. Damn, I'm saved. I looked up at the sky. A pink-haired girl, with emerald eyes, flew in the air, with red wings protruding from her back. I was wondering why I haven't seen her, but I totally forgot that we haven't seen her since the morning...
Okay, I lied, I forgot about Sakurako. Like completely. Entirely. Sakurako slowly started to descend–she landed right in front of me. My right arm twitched, as she approached. I guess it hurts from spewing out all of those flames.
'You're late.'
'I just woke up.'
She faced the direction of Cerberus.
'What is that? It looks like–'
'It's a high-ranked demon, Cerberus. If we defeat it, this whole pandemonium thing will end. Do you think you can do it?'
'Not alone.'
Sakurako said while looking at me. I think I mentioned this yesterday, but I feel like she's changed. Like, it feels like I'm talking to an adult and someone responsible. I walked forward and stood beside her.
'I guess it can't be helped, the great Lord Altair Nox has to be of service to his valiant servant.'
I said, jokingly. Sakurako chuckled.
'Valiant? That's how you would describe me?'
'No, I'd say beautiful.'
Her cheeks flushed red, as she turned away. She looked completely annoyed. Sakurako snuck a couple of glances down at me before she talked.
'Don't joke. It's bad for my heart.'
'Okay, okay. Anyways, let's beat this demon.'
'Yup! You and me!'
Sakurako and I travelled toward Cerberus, intending to take the guardian of the Underworld down.
