Since we civilian adventurers are considered friends and allies of the Ishi-shiro, the rank-and-file soldiers and staff consider us to be officers, too, and treat us with the same levels of respect.
That is because of a friendly directive from Edilbert himself.
Just as I'm done with breakfast, I hear a soothing jingle from the HQ's public address system.
"This is the Supreme Leader speaking.
"All officers and civilian allies, please head to the command center immediately. We will be welcoming new officers who will join our ranks starting today. Five minutes later, in the command center...
"Everyone, please welcome our new officers.
"Cpl. Selena Barnaby, Cpl. Valerie Ashbrooke, and Cpl. Doris Mitchell!
