It's summertime and the warriors of kaupang were preparing the ships Olaf who was standing there saw his son walking tot he boats with a bag and sword and he went to him and asked 'where are you going?' To which Sigurd replied 'to the west with you,' to which Olaf smiled and said 'no you will stay here,' Sigurd who seemed unhappy said 'why can't I come with you?' Olaf said 'your time will come my son that I can promise you but not I need you here to protect you sister and mother and and the baby that your mother carries when am not here your the man who will protect them, can you do that for me?' To which Sigurd nodded and accepted and the warriors got on the ship and where about to leave as their families watch and Olaf looked back at his family and the small bulge on his wife belly with pride and went to his boat and said 'we go west for riches and glory!' And the people cheered to it and Olaf continued 'we set sail!' And the boats left on their way to England.
After a few days they reach the English shores and Olaf instructed the men to row the boat into the river and travel farther in as they went he was near the target before getting the boats dock to a nearby shore and telling the men to make a barrier for their camp and boat and will that was done he went with some men to the forest where he saw a group of people and attacked them all for the person they spared and olaf went in front of him and spoke the Saxon language 'tell me what is the day today?' To which the Saxon who was surprised and afraid responded 'it's Saturday' the jarl smiled and said 'and all your people in the town will be in church then,' to which the Saxon replied 'yes,' olaf looked to his brother and nodded to him which Harold smiled and went to hit the Saxon with his axe and the they went back to the camp, Harold looked impatient and asked how look do we have to wait can't we go and attack,' olaf who was relaxed told other 'you see we are in the kingdom of Northumbria and the town is called Durham and it's a wealthy town but it will have a garrison that will make it hard especially when the see us coming they will lock the gates and we will have to drive it and that will give them time to earn the people of the kingdom to rally a force to push us away but with my plan when we attack non of that will happen,' this left the warriors to an understanding so Harold who had calmed down asked 'so when do we attack?' to which he replied 'tomorrow.'
The following day the warriors had moved form their camp and left a handful to look after it and went to near the town and waited, Harold asked 'how long do we have to wait?' Olaf standing replied 'patients brother you'll see it will come,' that's when the bells could be heard. And Olaf stood up and said 'that's the signal' he looked at Harold and told him 'take 10 men and climb in the take out the garrison protecting the gate and open for the rest of the force to enter,' to which Harold smiled and signaled to the men and moved while. Olaf moved either rest of the men to near the gate after which he would he some sounds of fights and man who fell from the gate, after which was open and the Vikings poured in to the city.
