"Are you really sure about this, Tanjiro-san?" Minato asked, watching as Tanjiro walked with them toward the Uchiha Clan. With Tanjiro taking Itachi as his student, Minato felt uneasy. As the newly appointed Hokage, he had yet to solidify his position and lacked full control over the village.
His concern was evident, knowing how ruthless and merciless the villagers could be, especially since Tanjiro was an outsider. The situation could escalate quickly, even affecting the calmest of minds. He was reminded of Kakashi's father, Sakumo Hatake, who had taken his own life after being blamed by the villagers for abandoning his mission to save his teammates.
"It's fine," Tanjiro replied, unperturbed by Minato's question. "This is where being an ANBU commander will come into play. I operate in the shadows, working for you. Besides, I have my reasons for wanting to make Itachi my student. He has tremendous potential, and I want to help him become a good man who will protect his family and loved ones." Tanjiro was aware that Minato, as a new Hokage, might face opposition from the Council of Elders, particularly from Danzo.
'That old dog,'Tanjiro thought, 'who seeks to usurp and control Konoha with his autocratic leadership, showing no regard for the people.'
"But this could affect your reputation in the village, having an Uchiha as your student," Minato said, a bit embarrassed. "Don't take it the wrong way, Tanjiro-san."
"Have you forgotten, Minato-san? I only arrived in Konoha today. I don't care about the villagers' opinions at all. They don't even know me—what right do they have to criticize? Besides, have they even met me?" Tanjiro scoffed, considering that he had only just arrived.
"Right, you've only just arrived in Konoha. They wouldn't know you at all. I almost completely forgot. Please forgive me," Minato said, scratching his head and laughing awkwardly, having overlooked the fact that Tanjiro had only just arrived.
Because of their closeness, Minato had forgotten that Tanjiro had only just arrived and they had only met a few hours ago. Despite this, their interaction felt as if they had known each other much longer, almost like brothers. Minato puzzled over why he should be concerned about Tanjiro.
Unbeknownst to Minato, Tanjiro possessed a unique charm that naturally drew people to him. This was likely why Itachi had immediately agreed to Tanjiro's request, and Mikoto had not opposed him being Itachi's teacher. As they walked towards the Uchiha Clan, Tanjiro checked on his path and the benefits it brings.

5. (LOCKED) ]
Tanjiro's eyes widened as he recognized the benefits, but he quickly composed himself to avoid revealing his surprise face.
'To think this path I've taken is so overpowered. With the Freedom perk, I have absolute control over my own freedom and independence. Those four must be sub-abilities of the Freedom perk: Pathmake, Limit Removal, Clear Mind, and Fate Immunity.
Possessing these abilities means I have no limitations and can surpass my own boundaries. My decision was right—taking my own path was the best choice.'
The perks stirred Tanjiro's mind with wild possibilities for exploiting such power, but he hadn't acted on them yet, primarily due to his own laziness.
Soon after, they arrived at the Uchiha Clan and entered the compound. Since Mikoto was with them and being both a Hokage and a Jinchuriki—though the latter wasn't known to ordinary ninjas—they were easily allowed through the gate with respectful nods from the guards.
"Tanjiro-san, we should meet my husband to get his approval for you to become Itachi's teacher," Mikoto said.
Tanjiro nodded and followed Mikoto, who carried Sasuke in her arms. While Kushina and Minato were guided to the living room by Itachi, Tanjiro was led by Mikoto to Fugaku's office.
After knocking three times, a voice called out for them to enter. Mikoto signaled Tanjiro to go ahead, and he slid open the door. Inside, he saw Fugaku writing rapidly, his Sharingan activated as he swiftly read through the documents before him.
Seeing the Sharingan up close stirred Tanjiro's envy. He resolved to acquire a Sharingan of his own after this meeting with Fugaku.
"Fugaku-kun, there is someone here who wishes to meet you to discuss becoming Itachi's teacher," Mikoto announced. As soon as Fugaku heard about his son having a dedicated teacher, he immediately thought of a master-disciple relationship. His expression turned serious, and the atmosphere became tense. The gravity of the situation even made baby Sasuke cry loudly.
"Fugaku-kun!" Mikoto's stern voice cut through the tension. "You're being overly protective of Itachi."
"I apologize for my reaction," Fugaku said, quickly moving to calm Sasuke. "I was caught off guard by the news and reacted poorly."
"It's okay," Tanjiro replied calmly. "I'm actually quite surprised by your reaction, Fugaku-san. I am Tanjiro Kamado, and I am here to offer to make your son, Itachi, my student."
"I see," Fugaku said, regaining his composure. "What can you offer my son that we can't provide ourselves? As an Uchiha, we have a range of jutsus and training methods available to him. Is there something unique about you that would benefit him in a way we cannot?" Fugaku's pride as both a father and a member of the Uchiha Clan was evident.
If not for his position as clan head, Fugaku would have taught Itachi himself and avoided letting him become independent at such a young age. For the Uchiha, family loyalty runs deep, even more so than for the average person. This intensity is tied to their Sharingan, which reflects their profound emotions—whether love or hatred.
"For that, I do have something unique to offer," Tanjiro said. "I am quite skilled with weaponry and can use all types of weapons at a master level. Coupled with the Sharingan, this would make for a powerful learning tool for Itachi. Additionally, I can learn anything I see at a glance."
Tanjiro pointed to his head. "Basically, I possess something similar to the Sharingan. The difference is that I don't need to activate it—it's a natural ability of my mind."
He wasn't exaggerating; his Hyper Cognitive Mastery allowed him to learn and master techniques swiftly, as long as he understood the method.
Tanjiro's superior eyesight, thanks to his TW, allowed him to see through obstacles that might block the Uchiha's vision. However, he envied the Sharingan primarily for its power to read quickly and retain information flawlessly. This capability was especially appealing to him given his own frustration with forgetting what he read and his struggle with memory.
The thought of acquiring a Sharingan drove him wild with excitement, as it promised to overcome the limitations he had experienced with his own memory and retention issues.
( Note: I am talking about myself )
They continued discussing what Tanjiro could offer, with Tanjiro showcasing his Demon Slayer Mark. He noticed a different effect from the mark, attributing it to the availability of chakra. Previously, the mark had multiplied his strength two to three times, but now it was amplified even further, allowing him to activate it indefinitely due to the chakra.
After hours of discussion, Fugaku reluctantly agreed to let Tanjiro become Itachi's teacher. Though Tanjiro had proven his worth, Fugaku had wanted to be the one to teach his first son.
"Thank you for your time, Fugaku-san. You don't need to worry; your son will be in good hands, I promise," Tanjiro said, bowing his head slightly.
Fugaku returned the gesture, bowing his head and shaking Tanjiro's hand. Soon after, Mikoto called them to the dining room, announcing that dinner was ready.
They exchanged nods and walked towards the dining room, where Kushina, Itachi, Minato, and Mikoto awaited them.
"Oh, you're still here, Kushina-san, Minato-san?" Tanjiro said, bewildered. He had been discussing with Fugaku for several hours, and they were still waiting.
"We're still here, waiting for you to finish, Tanjiro-san," Kushina said, feigning frustration at the delay. She was, of course, just teasing him.
Noticing this, Tanjiro chuckled and waved his hand in playful surrender, earning amused chuckles from the others.
"Alright, everyone, stop chatting and let's eat," Mikoto said, clapping her hands as they all took their seats. After expressing their thanks for the meal, they began eating. During dinner, the Uchiha family asked Tanjiro common questions, similar to those posed by Kushina and Minato.
With patience, Tanjiro answered truthfully. As usual, they were surprised to learn his age, and even Itachi was astonished to find out that his new sensei was 120 years old.
Mikoto also inquired about how he maintained his youthful appearance, still looking as if he were in his twenties. Tanjiro answered her question the same way he answered Kushina
