Chapter 1 - Ch. 1 - 'Roommates'

Adarian woke up to the blaring sun rising up in the east, which just so happened to be right out the window that was directed towards his face.

"Oh, god dammit...", He groaned, pulling the covers up over his face, when suddenly two voices spoke upz one sounding mildly annoyed, the other sighing with disappointment.

"Adarian, get up off your arse, and clean the damn house! I put up with my son's laziness, I won't do the same for you!", Yelled the blond man, who you could tell was a drunkard through and through when he got his hands on some mead.

"Edward- Grandfather, please go easy on him, he doesn't even know what he is, go easy on him. He hasn't even been properly trained!", yelled the other, who wore a nearly identical outfit that the blond wore, just seemingly a little more modern, although still far from being used in present time.

Adarian has consistently heard this conversation before, at least ten times, but he still doesn't know what the dark haired man means by 'he doesn't know what he is'. What the hell does that even mean in the first place?

He slowly zoned them out as her closed his eyes, not noticing that he was tuning in to something not many people possess. His breathing steadied, his hearing quintupled compared to normal, and his vision increased tenfold, gaining a weird color change to it. Too bad for him that his eyes were closed, and also good for him since he lived in the forest.

When he got up, everything went back to normal, as he sighed, walking towards the shower. Ten minutes later, he looked in the mirror. His looks consisted of neck-length black hair, sort of spiky in contrast to Edward's and his Grandson's smooth hairstyles, bright blue eyes, just like Edward's, and his physique was pretty lean in terms of musculature. Adarian tried ignoring looking at his lower friend, being freakishly large compared to others of his age, as his Mom said when she was alive. Not that he appreciated her saying so, that was quite embarrassing enough. But now, he wouldn't mind hearing it, if he could see her again one last time.

"Boy, get out of the bathroom, you're taking too long!", Edward yelled. He groaned out of annoyance, and swung the door open. Edward yelled curses, as he, and his Grandson, covered their faces. 'Pfft, then don't rush me', the boy thought, rolling his eyes, while getting dressed.

A short ten minutes later, he came out wearing dark blue jeans, a white t-shirt, some quality running shoes, and his trusty red and black hoodie. He turned to Edward, and his Grandson and asked for their opinions.

"Well, Edward, Connor? Does it look okay, or should I wear something with a little more flair?", the boy asked, gaining an amused grin as he pulled out his giant box of clean and folded clothes. Edward just looked, and nodded, though he scoffed at the box.

"Well, if I knew where my coat went after my death, or if Connor knew where it went after his, we would give that to you, seeing as you are our now last living descendent.", Edward said, sighing in more disappointment. He seemed wistful as he looked out the window seemingly debating with himself in his mind. What would have happened if he managed to save Blackbeard? What would have changed if Mary had lived? There were so many things he regretted in his life, but he shook his head. He was content with how it turned out in the end, just disappointed he died to two mercanaries in his sleep.

Edward then gazed at his last descendent. Someone like Mary would suit him very well, in his opinion. He just wishes he would actually interact with people more, maybe even sail the seven seas as he once did in his youth. Or just do something with his life other than mope about.

Suddenly, Adarian's phone rang, and as he answered it, the two spirits had a feeling things were going to get complicated. This was the start of the Sample Seventeen Project coming to life, which would later help Adarian with his un-tapped latent skills.

Adarian walked into a dimly lit office, being met by a woman, and a giant machine. This was the Virtual Reality dive board. He sat down in the chair as she helped get him strapped into it, then placed a small helmet with goggles over his eyes.

"All strapped in? Alright good, now I just want you to focus on the light here, things will be ready shortly. Tonight, we will be giving you a taste at what our company has to offer you, should you continue to work with us, while you do, we will be keeping track of everything and making sure you won't get hurt. Oh, but don't worry, it's almost never happened before, just the one odd incedent, but you should be fine.", The lady spoke, and slowly, Adarian got used to the feel of the chair. She then gave the all clear, and then it was lights out.

Suddenly, he was greeted to the sight of a holographic younger looking version of his anscestor, Edward James Kenway, in a pair of rags that did not look like comfortable clothing. He certainly looked a lot more like a pirate as well.

He didn't even pay much attention to the commentary by the computerized voice, as slowly, he felt like he could feel himself again, but now, as the young Edward. Slowly, a cutscene of his anscestor took place, showing a battle with an enemy ship. One that contained that of robes that looked eerily similar to his Anscestor's, though white and blue in color.

Adarian then found himself at the helm of the ship, captaining it, and he felt like he could easily make commands to attack accordingly, like he was a seasoned veteran, and not some boy with no knowledge whatsoever about swimming, let alone steering ships. Well, this was sure going to be fun.
