Ed watched as his mate walked and fell, then rose up and walked a few steps then fell back to the ground. For anything that caught her eye, Ed bought it. They spent around four hours in the mall and they managed to exit it after the baby fell asleep in her mate's arms snoring softly. Chris on the other hand couldn't be any happier. The day was finally over! But, they had to leave the delivery to be handled by the mall as their car was not big enough to buy all they had shopped.
They got back home really tired. After a shower and a heavy meal, the baby fell asleep immediately. Ed made himself comfortable after sending Chris off and got out more books to read and busy himself.
Somewhere in a castle.
Hurried steps rang out in the vast hallway. The only thing that illuminated the hallways were lights that were at a distance from the other casting dark shadows on the walls.
The doors to the throne room fell open and a cloaked man walked in. Reaching the alter where the throne sat, he removed his cloak and bowed in respect. "Your Majesty!"
"What is it Dexter? I don't want excuses, I hope I won't hear them!" The man at the throne spoke.
"No your Majesty. It's good news. We found him!" Dexter reported to the king in sheer fear. There was another piece of news he had but was afraid of speaking it.
"What with you? Have something more important to share with me?" The man asked as he watched his subordinate.
"Your Majesty....I... it's.....He is with a human baby!" Dexter stuttered and audibly gulped.
His master came to a stop. "Human baby?" The man at the throne asked with a crooked smile. "Why would he have a human baby? It wouldn't satiate his thirst!" He raised his brow in question.
"We are not clear with the details since we couldn't get close without being detected by him. But he also has a human he is with. According to some sources, the human was the one that took him in." Dexter reported.
"Haha! So he grew attached to the human baby because his mate died a baby and a human at that too? He has a soft spot for weak creatures! Tch!" The man sneered. He hated humans the most....those weaklings thought they were high and mighty but didn't know they were being bred for them, the superior kinds to feed and play around with.
In another location.
"He is alive my lady!" A young girl came chripping happily to report. Tree roots had curved and formed sort of a canopy which was a pathway. The different flowers kept flickering to different colours and fireflies danced illuminating the place.
"Be careful Bree, you'll trip." A youthful voice warned warmly to the little lady. She came out from where she was as the the tree roots gave way. A beautiful lady dressed in a dark green dress with freshly blooming flowers every now and then made her way.
The little one stopped dead in her tracks and grinned. "I've found him!" She continued to chrip.
"Well that's good!" The lady replied as she caressed her hair. "I'm going to have to leave the coven in your care now. My master has awoken and I'm supposed to go serve him." The lady continued to explain.
The little one sulked as she couldn't do a thing about it. "Will you come back to see us?" She asked sadly.
"Well...you are my daughter, that's reason enough to come back to see you." The lady spoke to Which Bree beamed.
"Thank you mother!" The little one smiled and rushed to hug her mother. "Send my thanks to your kind master...if not for him, I'd never have gotten the chance to be born. If fate allows, I'll come one day to thank him personally." She murmured softly to which she was squeezed a little tighter into the hug.
The two released eachother. "You can consult the council incase of anything, ok?" The lady reminded.
"Yes mum...all your lessons are perfectly imprinted into my mind. I won't ever let you down!" Bree declared with a firm smile.
The lady in a green dress smiled at her daughter as she started chanting spells which brought a mist around her. She continued chanting until she disappeared along with the mist.
Back in the penthouse.
Ed groaned and fell to the ground, he felt hit in the clothes he was dressed in. His throat was constricting as waves of thirst hit him. His mate was sleeping peacefully, she was the closest source of blood for him but he'd never dare even think of drinking even a drop from her.
He took in a deep and sharp breathe as he felt his chest burn as if dipped in molten lava. He needed something to curb this thirst! With all the sanity, he still had in him, he forced himself on his legs and dragged himself to the door. He had to leave the room! But the thirst demon in him took control and his red eyes snapped to where his mate lay. He could see the delicious blood that was flowing through her veins it was tempting him to go take a tiny little bite but he got his bearings back and his eyes changed to a deep purple. He rushed out of the room and banged the door closed throwing it off its hinges startling his mate awake.
He rushed to the kitchen to check if there was still some of the drink his brother had been bringing him. But to his dismay, the bottles were all empty. He had been fighting this thirst for a while and had been doing his best to keep it from his brother and for his mate's sake but it seems the thirst wasn't going to go away if he didn't take a drink from his own mate.
Nothing would satiate him even if he was to drink from all living humans.
Frustrated, he threw the fridge across the room breaking the expensive coffee table and the flat screen. The noise probably continued to startle his mate since she begun wailing from the room. Just her voice and his fangs were out.
Before he went for the kill, his sanity now gone, someone broke into his premises, this had him alert and attack whoever it was. The woman whose neck was held in a tight grip had her eyes building out of their sockets in shock and fear and the next thing was a whimper as Ed sunk his fangs into the woman's neck.
The Vampyr Council.
"Your Majesty, you called." A white headed man stated as he looked around amidst his fellows. The king never called for them for anything, what was his intentions.
"I'm glad you came when I called onto you all on such short notice. There is an issue that I have to come to know of which could be a possible threat to the peace we have now." He said
"Is his Majesty talking about the awakening of a royal Vampyr?" One of the men asked unsure.
"Yes. I believe you have all heard a thing or two about this." The king spoke to Which the men nodded.
"He is living among the humans." The king stated which and all the men go pale, paler that they already were.
Back to the penthouse.
Jes had smelt the scent of blood from a mile, he didn't want to give it importance since humans got into accidents every now and then. Clumsy!
But when he was close to his brother's dwelling and the stench was so strong, he knew this wasn't good.
Rushing in at the greatest speed he'd ever used in his life, he broke through the glass window his eyes bulging out of their sockets when he saw what was going on in the penthouse, he threw his brother off the woman who was close to death. His eyes had turned red too but that was to now tackle his brother.
The woman whimpered with a groan after crashing into broken shreds of glass.
Jes lept and tackled Ed kepping his brother on the ground. Perks of being an older brother...but not for long as he was thrown across the room with Ed leaping up to him. There was no talking...it was meant to be solved with actions.
Ed was hyper sensitive hence Jes couldn't let him out of the confinement of the penthouse since the humans would be at risk. From the corner of his eyes, he caught the woman trying to get to her feet and he wondered but another scent of blood hit him, he looked up the staircase and saw a crying baby girl with a wounded knee and little palms scrapped.
Ed also caught the scent of the blood and he lost it. He lept to get his hands on the baby who was now looking on confused, scared and in pain.
"Get the baby!" Jes yelled to the woman who acted immediately materialising to where the baby stood and snatched her only a second earlier before Ed clawed her with his claws.
"Get in here!" Jes yelled again and another cloaked individual lept into the room with a box.
Jes caged Ed's hands behind him, Ed kept growling but Jes didn't give him a chance to protest and hit the back if his knees making Ed fall to his knees. "Pour as much as you can in his mouth!" he yelled to his man who franatically came and did as told. Though he was practically shaking since he was the one facing the raging demon, he did his best till eight bottle went down Ed's gut. He broke free and clawed the man Infront of him sending him flying out through the glass window and out of the building.
"My mate!" he couldn't sense her in the penthouse.
Good, thirst tamed...now mate! Where is she?
"Who did you give my mate to?" Ed yelled as he grabbed his brother by the collar ready to rip him apart. "Calm down and your mate will be brought to you!" Jes tried to stay composed but Ed was practically supping his essence. "MY MATE!!!!" Ed raged.
Jes felt his throat constrict..."you.....are killing me... Ed, stop...it!" Jes breathed.
"Waaaaaa!!" A baby's wail rang out drawing the two vampyrs especially Ed who lept to where his mate stood. The woman morphed behind Jes hiding from the ragging Ed.
Ed held his mate and checked her, he had smelt her blood and it had driven him nuts but in close inspection now, she had no wounds. it her eyes were filled with tears. He buried his nose to her neck to take in her scent. Though his thirst was not satiated, his demon had been caged hence he was in full control. With assurance if his mate's safety, he snapped to those in his home and looked at the three figures. His fangs were still out but his eyes had gone back to the vibrant purple. He seemed calmer.
"We have to talk!" Jes spoke coldly glaring at his brother.
