One thing about women, Dean wasn't exactly Orion. He wasn't a womanizer like Orion. Still, he could try to talk with Sarah, it might work to some extent. He was never close to her in the first place. Why would Sarah want to talk to him?
Dean tried to do it anyway. He sat down right on the chair in front of Sarah. "Excuse me, I think the chair is empty."
He didn't exactly look concerned about Sarah in the first place. But truth be told, when his boss' daughter was sad like that, he couldn't help but ask why. Besides, he could get a discount from the Peacekeeper in the future.
"Sarah, right?" Dean asked.
"What do you want, Barnett?" His introduction was immediately met with hostility. The kind of hostility that really wanted someone to be gone.
"I just want to sit here, relax," Dean answered.
Dean never did any intelligence gathering on Sarah to an extreme extent. She was a beautiful girl with enough fans to actually create a football team and quite excellent in her academics comparable to Scarlet's achievement. So the thought of her having someone never crossed Dean's mind.
Sarah herself was a ginger-haired girl with a height of around 5'6 or something. She was not too tall, but not too short either. Social stand wise, she was within the boundary of being a socialite or nerd although more towards the latter. She was an avid book reader according to Adams.
"Why don't you scram, Barnett?"
"I only want to sit here, relax. It's not like I'll do anything, and why are you crying like that?" Dean asked.
"None of your business," she wiped the tear on her chin.
Dean then took a wild, but measured guess, "Problem with the relationship? I guess."
"It's not like that…" Sarah lowered her voice down.
Dean then took an even wilder guess, "Adams?"
"W-w-what? Who told you that?"
Dean felt deja vu once he heard that response. The wild guess was always accurate, and Dean learned that skill from Adams himself after their several encounters. Still, it never crossed his mind it would be Adams of all people.
"Just a hunch."
"Shit, you are just like him, throwing random guesses that always turn out to be right, what kind of ability is that? Are you two some sort of mind-reader?" Sarah wiped her tears again.
Dean smiled, "Hahaha, it's not like that. We just happen to think in almost the same frequency, more or less."
"Really? It sounds like he sent you to make peace with me," Sarah said.
First, it was a can of worms of criminality. Now, it was a can of worms of romance. So, Sarah was in a relationship with Adams but they were in a fight, it seemed. For some unknown reasons, Adams and Sarah were in the same coffee shop.
"Make peace? Sarah, I'm not here to do that, I'm just happened to see a beautiful girl crying, if that's what you're asking," Dean assumed that Sarah wondered what the hell he was doing in here.
Sarah then smirked, "Perhaps, you are here to give me advice just like him. Don't disturb me while I'm working. Sorry, I'm busy, and perhaps you should be busy too. I am still thinking about something else other than you." She seemed to be repeating the exact same thing that Adams said to her.
"No, no, no, I'm not even going to say that," Dean replied.
"What are you going to say then?" Sarah asked.
"I meant, why you two fight? It's not like it's something serious, right?" Dean asked.
"Something that is repeated will get serious, Barnett," Sarah said.
"What's the problem?"
"Not your business," Sarah was still not wanting to answer.
No use. Dean needed to use the chain-of-command excuse so Sarah would tell Dean the problem.
"Adams is still my supervisor, and I don't want to be commanded by someone who has a problem back home, so, like it or not, I need to help you," Dean forced Sarah to answer.
"Fine, damn, you soldier boys are the same, you know?" Sarah added.
"Well, we work accordingly," Dean added.
"Yes, but not when you are refusing on a date on Sunday or Saturday, damn," Sarah said.
"Well, we do patrol on Saturday and Sunday," Dean gave his excuse.
"Yes, but refusing a date on a Sunday morning? If he doesn't want to commit, why doesn't he end it?" Sarah finally said the word.
"Give him a chance, I'll talk to him later, but Sarah, I know you are demanding something, but with all of the things that he does for our country, do you think you are not cutting him slack?" Dean said.
"Maybe? I can be needy, but still," Sarah added.
"Sarah, I understand, I'll talk to him," Dean added.
"Thanks, Barnett," Sarah said.
"Feeling better now?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, thanks," Sarah wiped her tear and she began to smile.
