In the afternoon, it was patrol as usual. Adams was coupled with Dean on patrolling. During a patrol, they must wear their military uniform instead of the usual academy uniform. Not only that, but they also had to bring the S12-AR
"Huh? Really?" Adams asked as if he was completely unaware of that.
"Yes, your girlfriend is very frustrated with you, sir," Dean said.
"Really? That thought never crossed my mind, like ever," Adams answered.
"Yeah, you never dated her?" Dean asked.
"Saying never is sounding like you are blaming me, Dean," Adams countered.
"Why would she say that, then?" Dean asked.
"Maybe because I only took her on a date once. But Dean, with all of this patrol and supervising you five, it would be a tad easier if she can be patient until you five got promoted into PFC and the rest of the students promoted into PF," Adams said.
"Oh, we don't have to patrol anymore?" Dean asked.
"Of course, you still have, but not every day like this, maybe twice a week or something," Adams answered.
"Oh, I see, well, it looks like your girlfriend is considering breaking up with you, my friend," Dean added.
Adams immediately stopped walking. He was surprised when Dean thought he wouldn't. Was Adams that thick that treating a woman like that would eventually result in them breaking up?
"Wait… what?" Adams asked.
"Yeah, she said if you weren't committed, she wanted to break up, so yeah, your relationship is pretty much at the brink of collapse," Dean explained further.
"Shit, man, I never thought it would be that bad. Still, Dean, thanks for telling me. Where did you find her anyway, I never know you are close with Sarah," Adams said.
"I am not, but I met her at the same coffee shop where we are. Didn't you notice her?" Dean asked.
"What? Me? No, I don't. Damn, I should have been more attentive. Thanks, Dean," Adams replied.
The conversation was suddenly interrupted by the other patrol team. The other patrol team was none other than Orion and Andre. Dean forgot to report that they had passed through the first checkpoint without reporting.
"Patrol Team 1, this is Patrol Team 2, we have gone past Waypoint Alpha, sitrep?"
"Patrol Team 2, this is 1, a little bit of radio error, it's now fixed," Dean replied.
"This is 2, copy that."
"1 out," Dean closed the radio.
Dean and Adams continued the patrol routine. It would be a bad idea to let their focus down on such pseudo-critical assignment such as patrolling a commercial area. It was not like someone would dare to shoplift on a military-focused man-made island such as Almara Island.
After the patrol, Dean, Orion, and Andre returned to their dorm. As usual, the tired students went immediately to bed. However, Dean headed to the bathroom first to take a shower. Orion was looking at his phone before bed while reading the textbook for the military academy.
In front of the mirror, he called Myra inside of his head. He wanted to ask how he could distribute the stats point alongside asking for an explanation about the stats. Dean wondered.
'Myra, are you there?' Dean asked.
Myra then appeared right beside him. 'Yup, I'm here.'
'Show me the status screen, I want to see it.'
'On it.'

'No wonder you can beat Andre easily, not only do you surpass him, but you also toe to toe against Orion,' Myra commented.
'Huh, what do you mean by that?' Dean asked.
'Well, unlike your ID card, I measure agility, dexterity, and vitality too. The average people had a 40-ish number in their stats. However, you have much more than those people, especially in your dexterity and vitality. Maybe because of your experience in the ruins,' Myra commented.
'Speak English?' Dean didn't actually get what Myra was talking about.
'You are not as weak as the academy thinks you are. Then again, I'm not even surprised they don't test agility, dexterity, and vitality,' Myra said.
'Hmm, what makes you say that?'
'What kind of tool can be used to test vitality? Chop you up into multiple pieces and look how fast you'll regenerate? No, right?' Myra commented.
'Alright, just give me an explanation about each stat.'
'On it, take a look.'
[Strength]: Determines your strength and the power of your melee attack. It also determines your endurance at the same time. More strength will allow you to do a certain action that requires a lot of strength.
[Agility]: Determines the speed of walking, crouching, and crawling. Reducing the chance of being detected in stealth. Determines stamina drain from running. It also determines aiming time and reloading time for you. It also increases the speed in speed casting and melee speed.
[Dexterity]: Determines your ability in doing a delicate operation. It increases reload speed, reduces scope sway, along with increasing accuracy. It works alongside strength in recoil control.
[Vitality]: Determines your ability to handle pain and take damage for the attack. This stat also affects your ability in using any healing item. It also reduces the rate of fatal damage and CRBN damage.
[Aptitude]: Determines your ability in using magic. It determines your magical power capacity, magical spell casting time, and your ability to regenerate magical power inside of your body.
'Is that clear enough?' Myra asked.
The description itself had been modified so it became more relatable for Dean. Because of his militaristic background, some descriptions had been modified so it suited his background. That was the reason why there was reload speed on the stat's description.
Dean understood the description, and as far as he knew, he only wanted to put the two stats points that he had into aptitude because he was more concerned about not being able to use any magical spell than his lack of strength which sometimes could be enhanced easily using SE-1 combat stimulants if the needs arose, which happened too damn rarely.

'So, what will you do now, go to sleep or something?' Myra asked.
'Not really. I want to take a shower, and after that, go to sleep,' Dean replied.
'Good night, Dean.'
Myra disappeared again and Dean took a shower before he went to sleep.
