Chapter 5 - 05

Isabella took a quick shower as she felt a little sweaty after the horse riding class. She got dressed in a jeans and tshirt and did not bother drying her hair. She exited her room only to find a freshly showered James coming out of his room. The siblings stared at one another and literally spoke in their minds about getting back at each other.

They both did not see eye to eye and pretended the other did not exist and went downstairs.

"Finally. What took you both so much time?" Their mother, Ria asked when she noticed her kids climbing down the stairs.

Isabella and James pointed at each other and signalled their mother that the other one was late.

Ria and Hudson muffed their laughter. "Come soon. I am starving," Hudson said in a stern voice.

Isabella and James ran towards the dining table and sat down. They all began serving themselves and began having their breakfast.

Seeing the silence, Hudson decided to say, "So, sweetie, what time is your flight tomorrow?"

Isabella swallowed her food and replied, "At noon. So we will have to leave early in the morning."

Hudson hummed and nodded his head.

"Don't skip food, baby. Take care of yourself. And call whenever it is possible," Ria said. As a mother, she had her own concerns and care towards her children.

"Yes, mamma. I won't skip food and I will take care of myself. And I will call you whenever it is possible."

James did not say anything and silently watched their parents pamper his sister.

"Have some more," Hudson served more food to his lovely daughter. Isabella could not refuse the food her father was serving her. She knows that her parents care about the most.

At this moment, James decided to butt in, "Who were you talking on the phone last night? It sounded like a boy. Was it a boy? Is he your boyfriend or something?"

Isabella stopped eating as she felt stiffened by hearing her brother's words. She managed to chew and swallow the food in her mouth while staring at her brother. "Why were you eavesdropping on me?" she questioned him back.

James smirked at his sister as if he had hit the bullseyes, "So it was a boy. Oh and you don't reply to a question with a question."

Isabella wanted to stab her brother with her fork. "Do you have a boyfriend, sweetie?" Hudson asked his daughter now that the conversation had arrived.

At first Isabella was hesitant but she had to tell them the truth at some point so she just blurted out. "Yes, papa. His name is Samuel Grayson and he is my classmate."

Hudson and Ria exchanged looks and smiled to themselves before Hudson spoke, "I would like to meet that guy. Bring him here the next time you come home."

Isabella nodded her head in response. This was by far the better response that she had expected from her parents.

James' eyes went wide at his father's response, "What? You won't ask her what kind of guy he is? And who are his parents and other stuff?"

"What is in it for you?" Isabella hissed at her brother.

James ignored his parents and sister and mumbled to himself, "That is what usually parents do? Is it not? Or is it only me that gets questioned for liking a girl?"

Little did he know that his father who was sitting next to him heard his words, "Don't tell me you are the boy that likes Alisson, that Carter family's daughter."

James looked at his father with a blank expression, "Uh.. Um.. so.. Papa."

Isabella and her mother burst out laughing at James' flustered behaviour. Isabella put her tongue out at her brother in a teasing manner. It was equally fun when she teased him as much as it was for him.

The family of four had their breakfast together and later Hudson told everyon to wait for him in the living room. It seemed like a serious matter. The mother and kids sat in the living room. James nudged Isabella and asked, "What do you think it is?" Isabella shook her head, "I have no idea. Maybe you are in trouble."

"I don't think so. My quota of getting into trouble for this month is already over," James replied proudly. Their parents always made sure their kids had their crazy fun as well as behaved well.

Hudson finally came to the living room with a box in his hand. He gave it to Isabella and said, "It is an early birthday present from your mom and me." James secretly sighed out of relief. At least, he was not in any trouble. Isabella looked at her parents, "There was no need for any present. You have already bought me things for the university."

Ria swatted her hand in the air and said, "That does not count. It is your birthday soon and we won't be able to visit you."

"Oh, mamma and papa," Isabella jumped out of her seat and hugged her parents. She kissed their cheeks and thanked them for the present. She then opened the box only to see a dazzling turquoise colored bracelet inside it. It looked exquisite and her father made her wear it. It suited her well. And soon James joined their little hug.

The Wilsons spent the day by talking and making cookies for Isabella to take back with her. She had already packed everything and did the last minute checking.

The next morning arrived sooner than they all wanted. Hudson and Ria were a little emotional about sending their princess back to New York. James gave a bear hug and a chocolate to his sister as a peace offering for all the pranks that he pulled on her during this holiday. Isabella had no choice but to forgive him. He was her little baby brother after all.

Although there were universities nearby, Isabella got a seat through scholarship for everything and she was excited about the New York city. And as loving parents, Hudson and Ria agreed to her request and sent her away for studies. Isabella had promised them to return home to texas as soon as she is done with her studies.
