Aaron's phone rang louder than any siren. He groaned from inside of his blanket. He pulled the blanket a little and grabbed his phone and picked the phone call without seeing the caller id.
"Hello," Aaron said in his morning groggy voice.
"I thought the sun goes up in New York prior to Bozeman," Adrian's voice came, making Aaron remove the blanket and sit up straight.
"Oh gosh," Aaron hissed at his father's voice.
"I was really tired after travelling yesterday, and needed some extra sleep dad" Aaron tried to reason, hoping that his father would buy it. Lucky for him, Adrian seemed to have bought the reason. "Fine, get off the bed now and get going. The day is bright and waiting for you."
Aaron sighed out of relief, "Okay, I will be up now."
"Oh and your grandmother has been busting my phone since morning. For heaven's sake, go and visit her today itself. Or else you will find her at your university and don't blame me for it later." Adrian gave a heads up to his son. And it was much needed as Aaron definitely would not want his grandmother coming after him at the university.
"Yeah, okay. I will go there today," Aaron agreed almost immediately. And the father and son talk a little before the phone call comes to an end.
Aaron plopped down on the bed and let out a heavy breath. He then looked around the dorm room. Three students were supposed to share a dorm room and Aaron was absolutely not expecting that. The only thing that made him feel better is that at least the university had not put bunk beds like kids.
The dorm room was quite spacious to accommodate three students.
Aaron's eyes fell on Xavier's bed, he seemed to be in dreamland. Then Aaron gazed at the other bed only to find it empty. Suddenly, the bathroom door opened and the other student came out, freshly showered and half dressed.
Aaron smirked at the boy and greeted, "Good Morning, shyshy."
The boy looked at Aaron and managed to mumble, "Good morning, Aaron."
Aaron Marcel, Xavier Rodee and Shawn Bennett were the names allotted to share this room. Unlike Aaron and Xavier who are outgoing, Shawn is a shy boy and an introvert. And Aaron took the chance to tease the poor boy. He even nicknamed the boy as shyshy. Shawn did not tell him to not call him with that nickname. So Aaron went on with it.
"Is it morning already?" Xavier asked in his hoarse morning voice, rolling over on the bed.
"Yeah, it is morning. Rise and shine Xavi," Aaron sang, making Xavier and Shawn laugh lightly. Shawn continued to dress up while Aaron managed to get out of the bed and then walk towards Xavier's bed.
Aaron mercilessly pulled Xavier's blanket. "Fuck off Aaron!" Xavier shouted because of the cold breeze hitting his bare chest. Aaron simply laughed it off and ran to the bathroom.
Aaron takes a quick shower while Xavier wakes up grumpily. Anyways, his sleep was ruined, he might as well get up and begin the day.
"So, where are you from?" Xavier asked Shawn as they both sat on their own beds. Shawn looked away from his phone and replied, "Houston."
Xavier raised his brows and asked, "Oh.. are you a farm boy? Do you have horses and stuff?"
Shawn nodded his head nonchalantly, "Yeah. I am a farm boy and we do have horses." they both go silent for a moment before Shawn musters up the courage to speak.
"Uh.. where are you two from? You both seem very close," Shawn asked with much hesitance.
Xavier was checking his phone but he answered Shawn's question, "We are from Bozeman, Montana. And yeah, Aaron and I are very close friends. Our fathers are best friends and that makes me and Aaron buddies since diapers."
Shawn chuckled lightly at Xavier's reference to their friendship.
"Do you have any siblings?" Xavier asked as he kept his phone away and decided to exchange personal information with his roommate as they will be spending the next four years together.
"Yeah, an older brother. He is back at home, taking care of the farm," Shawn answered. "Is your brother married?" Xavier shooted next question.
"Yes, he is married to his high school sweetheart. And they have a two year old daughter."
"And your parents?" Xavier was full on shooting questions mode.
"My father passed away when I was in middle school and My mother is back at home with my brother and his family. We live together."
Since Shawn did not ask about them, Xavier took the initiative and said, "Well, I am an only child and was raised by my single father, Daniel, he works as a lawyer."
"What about Aaron?" Shawn asked hesitantly, again. Xavier laughed at his hesitance, "Aaron has a younger sister. Her name is Amity and she is a firecracker. His father, Uncle Adrian was our principal in high school and he is still the principal of Harrison high. And his mother, Aunty Jordan works as a library curator and she has been a mother figure to me for as long as I can remember. I am almost like her adopted son." Shawn had a smile on his face as he listened to Aaron's family.
They were disturbed by Aaron's voice from the bathroom, "Oi, my mother's adopted son, Please get me a towel, I forgot." Xavier and Shawn chuckled and shook their heads at Aaron's voice. Xavier got up from the bed and grabbed a towel from Aaron's cupboard and threw it at the bathroom door where Aaron was peeping from.
Aaron caught the towel and came out of the bathroom after a few seconds.
"So, shyshy, what will you do today?" Aaron asked Shawn as he went towards his cupboard to get his clothes.
"Nothing important, I was thinking of walking around the campus and getting familiar with the place," Shawn answered.
"Oh.. that is so boring. And we have four years to get familiar with the place." Aaron said, faking a pout on his face as he faced Shawn.
"Well, what are you both going to do?" Shawn asked nervously since they disapproved of his plans for the day.
Aaron smirked at Shawn and replied, "We have to be in some place. You can join us. Trust me, we will get wonderful free home food, although the place will be a little out of place."
Xavier burst out laughing at Aaron's words. He went ahead to take a shower to begin the day. While Shawn was some how convinced by Aaron to go out with them.
