They heard a noise coming from the forest that Ryley came out earlier and so the two looked towards the sound. One had an excited look and the other a fearful gaze, after a couple of seconds, a rabbit came out of the bushes.
"~sigh~"
"Dammit, why not a Ghoul."
After he finished his phrase a Ghoul came out and grabbed the rabbit and bit off his head, but it then realized there was more prey, therefore he dropped the dead rabbit and ran toward Sam.
"FUCK FUCK NOT AT ME PLEASE", but before he could jump on Sam, Ryley jumped on the Ghoul to intercept it before it could hurt Sam.
"What do you think you're doing?"
Then Ryley grabbed the Ghoul and locked him up in his arm but he had difficulty keeping it in place because the Ghoul was wiggling with strength to get out of the lock.
"SAM GOD DAMMIT HELP ME KILL IT INSTEAD OF STANDING THERE!!".
After Ryley screamed Sam came out of his daze and grabbed a rock and prepared to smash the Ghouls head.
"BE CAREFUL I'M ABOUT TO HIT IT."
"DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME AND KILL IT", and so Sam proceeded to smash the head of the Ghoul multiple times until it stopped moving.
"~sigh~ good job Sam, now it's time for the test."
Ryley then proceeded to ask Sam to hold the Ghoul and then took the pointy rock and did the same as before and cut open the thoracic cage of the Ghoul, and exposed the core of the beast.
"Are you ready Sam? It's going to be rough, it's strong so don't underestimate it and hold it very firmly and give everything you have."
"Ok, I'm ready", said Sam nervously.
Ryley then proceeded to take out the core but the same thing happened as before, it regenerated all its damaged body parts and became increasingly aggressive and strong.
"QUICK TAKE IT OUT EHHHH, IT'S SO STRONG AHHHHH!"
"I'M TRYING BUT I NEED TO RIP THE FLESH AS WELL SINCE IT REGENERATED!!".
After a hard struggle he managed to rip the core out of the Ghoul.
"Ahhhahahaha, I got it, nice one Sam."
Sam then standed up tiredly and soaked in the creature's blood.
"I'm so tired and it was so strong and I'm soaked in this smelly blood, eurk."
"I know but it was worth it, look at this, but it looks way more dimmer than when it was in his chest, weird. WAIT! Maybe it's like an energy source so when it did his last attempt at survival it used a big part of that energy."
"It does make sense."
"Yeah, I think that, 1 it's the answer or 2 close to it."
"But now what are gonna do about that core?"
"Hmmmm, Ah I know since it's like an energy source I wonder if it can get more, hmmm but with what."
"It looks like it eats flesh so maybe the flesh is the thing that gives it more energy? perhaps."
"Hmmmm it does make sense, let me try."
"With wha-, WAIT WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!"
"Well I'm giving the core, blood."
"By cutting yourself."
"Well yeah, look at me I'm all bloody I think one more or one less cut won't matter."
"Euhh ok, but be careful we don't know what can happen."
"I know I'll be careful", and so he proceeded to cut his arm a bit and drip some blood on it.
The blood fell to the core and then, suddenly it started to greedily sucking in the blood and then the blood completely vanished, but something special happened. The core started the shine brighter but not by much, it was even negligible but it was something.
"Ohhh, how intriguing, so blood gives it more energy so that's why it hunts for flesh, it's like food and water for them."
"Yeah, it looks like it."
"Now let's try something else," said Ryley with a creepy smile.
"What are you thinking,"said Sam, a bit fearful, and so Ryley took the core and brought it closer to his chest, until it touched and then something terrible happened. The core started to slowly sink in Ryley's body, but it didn't seem to be a fun experience since Ryley started to howl in pain and fell on the ground and started to roll on the ground clutching his chest.
"AHHHHHHHHHH IT HURTS, IT HURTS AHHHHHHHHHHH"
Sam started to freak out and wanted to help Ryley but he knew he couldn't do anything so instead he looked at Ryley struggling on the ground and hoping that he would be fine after this.
For Ryley who was on the floor, he was experiencing the worst pain he ever experienced, even having his shoulder ripped was nothing compared to this. It felt as if it would never end, but in his head he was telling himself not to give up no matter the pain, he must stay alive, no matter what, and so for a couple of minutes he was enduring the pain. Suddenly, Ryley's body started to twitch intensely and then he started to vomit a lot of blood and it didn't seem to stop. When Sam saw this his face became blank and thought to himself that Ryley was for sure was going to die, but even after vomiting all his blood Ryley didn't seem to stop moving and continued to move in pain. Surprisingly, though his skin started to become whiter and his nails became longer and his pupiles were going white, similar to a ghoul, which gave Sam a huge fright and fear started to creep up. After his transformation Ryley stoped moving and then started to stand up but he was starting to growl and acted even more like a Ghoul and after standing up he turned back and looked at Sam vicinity and jumped toward him but instead of attacking Sam he grabbed the dead rabbit that was close to Sam and started to eat it until nothing was left except its bones. Then proceeded to stop moving, standing there, and then a sigh came out of Ryley.
