Chapter 22 - CONVINCING HER

After strolling for a bit more, Eiana's stomach growled in hunger. And the noise was loud enough for Darius to hear, and her face turned crimson! 'Ah.. can't you rumble softly! Does it look good for a princess's stomach to shout like this?! '

She slowly turned her head to look at Darius' face and saw that he was smiling at her. And looking at him looking at her like this, her face turned to a darker shade of red. 'Ah... That's embarrassing! But... who cares? I am hungry! '

She coughed and decided to just let go of the stupid shame. And she opened her mouth to speak. But before, she could say something, she heard Darius say, "Would you like to eat something, milady? "

Eiana pursed her lips and nodded. Damn I am so hungry..!

The two of them went to a local inn there. Eiana seemed to enjoy every single thing there. She ordered quite a lot of pastries and cakes. And no sooner she gobbled everything down. The children, and adults who sat beside her looked at her with big eyes wondering, how can a pretty, lean girl like her, gobble so much of food.

They didn't know that their princess was one big glutton.

Oblivious to the minds of people around her, Eiana enjoyed her feast and Darius generously asked her to try some more of the items there. When they came out of the inn feeling content, Eiana had a wide, beautiful smile on her face.

"Wow... I never thought that I would enjoy this so much! I was only fleeing from that stupid wedding, but all thanks to you that I am even enjoying it so much! " Eiana squealed.

Darius looked at her with a smile, as if enjoying and feeling her happiness. It was now quite dark, and though there were still many people roaming around, it was not bustling as the day. They walked by an open ground and Eiana sat there and asked Darius to join her.

The sky was beautiful today with no moon in the sky but filled with twinkling stars. After sometime sitting there quietly and admiring the sky, Darius said in an odd tone, "Everyone in the town looks so happy and peaceful , right, milady? "

Eiana heard this and she subconsciously glanced at the people who walked by them and said with a smile, "Yes, and I hope this peace and joy to be filled in every corner of the kingdom. As the member of the royal family, what more can one ask apart from the peace and prosperity of one's kingdom."

Darius nodded at her than took a deep breath and said, " So... you can do anything for the welfare of the people of the kingdom, princess? "

Eiana nodded without hesitation and said, "Absolutely anything. " Then Darius said, "So why are you doing something that would ruin it? " On hearing this, Eiana frowned and said, "Why are you saying this? What have I done to ruin my kingdom's prosperity? "

Darius took a deep breath. He didn't want her to do anything against her wish. But this is important for him, for both of them. And one day, she will understand it. So he went on explaining it to her, " You know, your running away from the marriage will bring nothing but only shame and war. "

Eiana's face turned dark on his words. "Are you trying to convince me to go back? I have already said you that I don't want to do that. Marriage is not the only option. Everything can be solved by the give and take policy! I just can't ruin my life like that! I don't want to marry that Vampire! " Eiana yelled. Tears glistening in her eyes.

Darius understood that she was afraid and scared. And he didn't blame her for that. For a sheltered princess, who didn't know anything about the night creatures, and not to forget, who had heard all nonsense about them, it was obvious that she will react this way.

He just took a deep breath and said, " Okay princess, let me tell you the real reason why the Vampire King wants to marry you. "

Love, Please stop being stubborn and agree to marry me...
