Wait till I find Mate. I'll be sure to ask how cliche he can be, I never really did peg him as one who love all this fantasy movies and stuffs.
"You have to be careful at the end. There's a bump somewhere." Dove says in a gentle tone.
" Thanks for the heads up, but don't worry, should something happen to me, Mate will never hear the end of it from me." He'll likely be wishing for death.
"If you say so."
At the end of the long narrow passageway is a type of a bump, one I wouldn't have noticed had it not being the earlier head up Dove gave. Aside from that, I wouldn't have seen it.
"Be careful there, don't want you to get hurt before you're delivered." He says in a murmur.
"Of course am careful." Bending a bit, I follow him through the place. "How are you able to squeeze yourself in there?"
Walking is really difficult for someone as little and petite as I am, talk more of someone that's as big as life itself.
"Everything is possible when you're determined."
After the little bump, we came to a stop in what seems more like a curve, and that's when Dove brought out the same key. Inserting it on something that looked like a wall with a small round hole, a door mysteriously appeared.
Just like that, something that earlier looked like a wall, gave way to a door.
"This is total badass. Mate needs to be commended on this." I kw know I've earlier planned on laughing my head off at his expense, but seeing the expertise of the passage he made is enough to make me remove the cap for the baba.
"You can tell him that." Taking my hand in his, Mate led me out of the tight passageway, and into a dimly lit parking lot.
"Are we still at the company?" I look round at the cars parked in a perfect straight line. Should I not Know better, I would have said this looks more like a person's personal private lot based on how need, orderly and well arranged the cars are.
"No, we're not. Right now, we're at the back of a building near the company. You might not have noticed it, but we walked through the ground the entire time." Tugging me to him, he leads me towards a car That's parked at the end of the row.
"Mate connected two buildings together?" I ask in awe.
Who would have known my Mate is someone perfect in doing stuffs like this?
"You can say that." He opened the car, and gestures for me to enter.
"All these cars, who owns them?"
It just can't be Mate right? I know that won't be the case, but I had to ask.
"We're late already. We don't have much time to spend talking?"
" But..."
" No Buts, Lat. Should you have any questions, you can keep them. Right now I have a deadline to keep up with." Helping me into the car, he closed the door behind me, and walk over to the other side.
"What's so time consuming in answering questions?" Pouting a little, I glare at him. "It consumes a person's energy."
"Energy?" I scoff at his words.
He didn't reply my words, instead he revved the engine, and drove off to God knows where.
Luckily for us, our car wasn't stopped on the road despite the speed he made use of. The few cops we passed on the road turned a blind eyes to us whenever we zoomed past.
"Being a boss sure comes with a lot of perks." Dove murmurs.
"Hey, you're making use of my words!" I accused in a defensive tone.
"Won't you just shut up." Frowning at me, he continues on with his driving until we pass the busy city, and entered into a more secluded place.
Aside from the tall trees lining the long gravel road, there's nothing to be seen for miles. It's as if am going on some sort of tree seeing excursion.
"Why will Mate ask you to bring me to a place like this?" I look out of the window. With the sun slowly going home for the day, the entire place is already getting a little bit darker.
"Am afraid that's the case. Wonder why he needs you there." Dove says in an amused tone, but his words to me are anything but amused. To me, it seems he's somehow mocking me.
"Stop saying stuffs like that." I look out through the window as I tried to * I really don't Know what am trying to do. Right now, I can't tell if I want to go home, or if I should continue on with this.*
"What stuffs should I say then?"
Thankfully, we finally came to a stop in front of a house that looks odd in a place like this.
The duplex looks like it was misplaced, more like someone mistakenly took it from a good busy neighborhood, and brought it to this place.
The place looks empty and devoid of people. Not even a speck of light can be seen from the house, and that seems to make me aware of the fact that no one is in there.
"Let's go." Exiting the car, Dove expected me to do so, but I sit still in there.
"Am not going anywhere..Take me back home." Mate's house is far more safer and better than this place.
What's to say we won't be kidnapped should we stay in here.
"You need to come out now." Dove opens the door in expectancy. "Let's go."
"No, am not going anywhere. Take me back to my home." I tightly held on to the seatbelt. " I want to go home. I don't want to go into that house with you."
" I really don't want to force you, but don't make me do so." He growls in a frightening tone.
"No!" I shiver in fear. " Am not going anywhere."
