As I follow after the man, I felt really afraid. My heart thumping loudly in my chest.
Had it not being for how urgently I needed the job, I don't think I would have followed him half way.
*
Turns out the place I once regarded as a public parking lot is not what I think it is. It's a parking lot for a bar.
One I saw its name written on the door that's a bit closer to the place I sat earlier.
Had it not being for this man, I don't think I wouldn't have known about this. If anything, I would have sat till I regained my breathing, then I'll leave, either to continue on with my job hunting or go home and have a rest.
One of these two would have being something I'll do.
I really thought we're entering the bar, but that isn't so. The man walk past it , and towards another door at a short distance.
The place is just like a normal public parking space, the only difference being the door at the right hand, one that leads to Taly Tame bar, and the door at a short distance from there.
When the man came to a stop at the other door, I had half a mind to leave him there and run. The only thing that stopped me from doing so is the thoughts of how we'll survive this month.
With his tuition fee raised, I don't want him to also suffer more feeding the both of us. I really want to contribute in my own small way, that way he'll be really happy he met me.
I don't want him to think me a burden, one he needs to carry till he's tired to do so.
"After you." Opening the door, he gestures for me to go inside, but I didn't do so. Instead I stood still. "As someone who's familiar with this place, it's really important you lead the way. This way I won't mistakenly bump my feet on a stone, as you're well aware of, am not familiar with this place. " I say with a smile.
I learnt smiling when talking with people will help soothe them. Although this haven't helped me at all when it comes to my former bosses, but I can try it out now.
The man turns to look at me. His eyes taking me in "well said. I guess I'll take the lead." Entering, he leaves the door open for me on clear invitation.
With him gone inside, I take a very deep steady breathe. My hand going to my heart as I made a calming motion on it.
Counting to ten, I step in. Should he try anything funny, I'll show him he messed with the wrong guy
I follow him through a narrow passage, one that can't contain two people even if they squeeze themselves through it.
Should people try to escape through here, they'll he undoubtedly caught before they can take more than a step towards the other direction.
It didn't take long before we left the narrow semi lit place, and entered into a bright lit corridor that have only three doors on it. The corridor itself is shaped like a semi octagon.
The walls are painted a deep violet colour, a colour I'll never associate to being in a bar.
"That's the owner's private office. " He points to the only door at the left hand side of the room. The door looks really lonely, it's more as if the owner of the club is a really lonely person.
"He really must be lonely." I sigh at that. His door shows his loneliness from a distance.
"I don't that's exactly how the boss feels. Anyway, this is the office he makes use of whenever he visits, which is once in a blue moon.
You might work and resign without seeing our boss."
" What a busy man." With my words, I smile inwardly. With the boss not always around, I don't think I will be sacked. I might even have to work till thy kingdom come before I get sacked, and that's only based on the boss's appearance.
"That he is. As a billionaire, he have many investments to look after. He doesn't stay in a place, he's always travelling." The man sighs. " He's Always traveling without stopping."
I really don't have to know this man pretty well to know he's among those that talks whenever they see another. His types are those that doesn't keep secrets to themselves.
"I guess that's something a billionaire does. They're always looking for ways to make more money." I swear to the gods, should I become a billionaire, I work myself to death in search of money. I'll take a year long vacation.
"That's right." He turns to the two remaining doors. "That one there is our storage room. This is where we stock important things, that's why it's near my office which happens to be this one." He points at the only remaining door. " As the manager of this great establishment, this is my humble office." Walking straight to the door, he opens it, enters, and leaves it open for me.
This time, I didn't waste any time. Knowing he can't harm me at all, I enter in there.
His office is like every other one I've being to. There's nothing really special about it. The cushion in here that's placed near a small window is the only thing new in here.
Based on how proud he was when he talked, I really thought his office will be a wow worthy one. It's really nothing to be wow worthy of, the walls are painted a dark brown( who in this world paints an office with such boring colours?)
He sits on his chair, and motions for me to sit opposite him, and I did.
"I didn't introduce myself earlier Am Cy, and you are...." He keeps his words open for me to fill the gap.
"Laty Jasty." I answer without hesitation.
He blinks. "Is that your real name or your nickname?"
I smile at that. He isn't the only one who've asked me such a question. Most of the people I met always ask me for my real name whenever I tell them my name
"It's Laty Jasty. That's my real name. I don't have a nickname."
" Oh," He smiles. " It really sounded like a nickname."
" No it's not."
" I see. Okay Laty, let's get down to business."

After the interview ( if you can call what I had that as it's not a really difficult one), I got the job.
According to him, the bar starts from four in the evening, and ends by five in the morning.
My shift I from that four o'clock to ten, and I'll be paid #10, 000. A pay that's far more higher than any I've ever had.
My job is to be a waiter or bar tender, a job I really don't think is difficult at all. Isn't it to only take orders and deliver to those who wants?
My one time work as a waiter (though short) have taught me how to do most of the Things that's required of me now.
Take orders, smile and deliver.
