Chapter 6 - Friends Help Each Other

Pert laughed at that, "you really got some nerves newbie. You're much bolder than he is." He came closer to Mate whose face shoes nothing but anger.

" Don't you dare take more steps towards me. I won't he lenient with what I'll do to you." Mate warned.

" His scared? The bold boy now wants his mommy? " Tar laughs. " For a minute there, I thought your far more different than he is, but it isn't so. " He made to hit Mate on his back, and that was how the fight started.

Mate seems to be in preparation waiting for them to take the first step towards him.

I can't tell how it happened, neither can I say of a surety what happened. The fight happened faster than I could have kept track of, I didn't register anything until both Pert and Tar fell on the floor. A frightened look on their faces.

Seeing them on the floor made me happy Mate have defeated them just like I wanted.

"Who are you?" They both sounds scared all of a sudden.

"Like I said, your worst nightmare. Don't ever mess with the wrong guy." He flexed his muscles a bit. " Now fun off to where you came from before I think of what to do to you. " He says in a very deep voice.

The moment he said those words, Pert and Tar immediately scrambled to their feet. They didn't even wait for him to give them the second go ahead other, they both ran for dear life without looking back.

Mate stood watching them as they did so. His face still showing the anger in him.

Watching him, and recalling exactly what he did made me feel bad. I felt bad for the words I said to him yesterday. Words that might hurt more than anything.

Truthfully, I never did expect him to help me when he saw them bullying me, but he did. He would have walked his way, but he didn't do so.

He helped me just like he did yesterday.

Turning to me, he looks really indecisive. I can see the wheels running in his head as he probably thought on what he'll do next. Something am well conversant with. I know he'll leave now. Saving a person who's a none friend is easier than helping the said person.

Closing my eyes to prevent me from seeing the decision he's about to make, I start counting from one to two hundred.

"Are you okay?" Mate touched my shoulders.

Startled at both his words and close proximity, I open my eyes. A confused look on my face as I look into his caring mesmerizing blue eyes. Blue eyes I've come to love.

"I am." I try smiling, but couldn't. The pain I feel this time is far more painful than the one I had yesterday, but am quite confident it won't be here by tomorrow.

All I need to endure is the pain, and wait for the healing.

"You don't look okay." Placing his hand under me, he carries me up.

"Let me down." I blush in embarrassment. My eyes darting around to check if there's any witness to what's happening, but saw none.

My embarrassment isn't only on the fact am being carried, it's on the person who's carrying me.

How embarrassed I am a thirteen years old is carrying me without breaking a sweat.

"You need to be treated. I won't put you down until we reach our destination." His tone really stubborn as he says those words.

"Please. I don't want others to see me." I beg. I can't have others especially my bullies see him carrying me. It'll increase their scoffing and what not a lot.

It'll make them comment more on my petite size.

"Is it you don't want them to see me carrying you, or you don't want to be seen within someone you don't consider a friend?" He grits his teeth in anger as he said Those words. His tone really tight.

"That's not true. Am sorry for the words I said yesterday. I said it out of fear. I Really don't mean those words."

" Then get ready to be carried all the way. Friends help each other, and that's what exactly I want to do. I want us to help each other. " Making me comfortable on his body, he starts walking towards the nurse's office.

Seeing I can't talk him out of carrying me on his body, I decided to relax. It won't help to be uncomfortable while your friend is carrying you right?

Friends?

Am in love with the sound of that.

I've never had a friend before, but right now I do. I have a friend willing to beat my billies for me, and carry me to the nurse's office, that's all I could have asked for.

The feeling of having a friend is really comforting. It makes me want to shout out to the world and tell them how comfortable I am.

"What's wrong with him?" The nurse checked on me. Her eyes widening as she felt my stomach.

You see?

This is the reason why I hate coming to this place. I don't want to answer unnecessary questions.

Like right now, I don't know how best to answer such a question. I can't tell her am being bullied. That will make the bulling worse should my bullies he punished.

"Clumsy Lat, he fell down the stairs. Luckily for him, he didn't hit his head on the floor." Mate sighs.

Hearing him talk, I had to hide a smile. I really would have believed his words had it not being for the fact am the one who had the said incident.

"You can go back to class. I'll take care of him." The nurse says in a tight voice. It's as if she don't trust Mate.

"Are you sure about that? I won't mind staying by his side." He says in a stubborn way. A frown directed at the nurse.

"You can return later, but right now you have classes. " She made a shooing motion towards him.

Mate looks reluctant to leave, but the look on the nurses face shows he's not welcome.

"See you Later Lat." Waving at me, he walk out of there .
