"He's handsome? You got weird taste Missy" Fredrick said and chuckled a bit. The black tall and muscular middle-aged man had been the calmest ever since we got here. Fredrick's physical strength was no joke as he managed to break a horde of those bones earlier. Being the oldest amongst us, he was the most reliable after me of course especially when it comes to physical brawls and advice.
" Hahaha hahaha" we all laughed over Fredrick's little joke.
" Are you all mocking me?" Zephyr zoomed over and asked with an angry pout on her face.
" We wouldn't dare," I said still laughing lightly.
" Although I didn't get what he said since he said it without thinking," she said and pointed to Fredrick, her ears had to be great if she had picked his voice from that distance.
" I know that you all reacted in response to his words," Zephyr said still with her angry pout, she was so cute. The other fairies at our sides suddenly put on a stern look, seems like they don't appreciate us making fun of their superior.
"Ehem Ehemm" I sounded trying to loosen up the tensed atmosphere.
" What's that thing? it's still staring at us" Belle asked as she put on a face that suggested that she was both disgusted and afraid.
" Relax, Cisn wouldn't hurt. He just hasn't seen you around here so he's a bit curious"
" Is that so?" Bell proceeded
" Yep, he's just a curious kid" Zephyr responded.
" Well turns out you are all in luck, an interesting event will happen soon," Zephyr said looking a lot more excited than before, Cisn must have told her something for her to be this excited.
" A fight is about to take place!"
" A fight?"
" Yes!" Just then, the parts of the lake had protrusions, and figures similar to Cisn sprouted up, their numbers ranging to around a Hundred. Most of them were a lot larger compared to Cisn and they seemed to be moving towards somewhere.
" Eeek" Bell shrieked once more.
" Let's move as well," Zephyr said and suddenly a gust of wind slowly formed at our feet and lifted us a few feet in the air.
" Whoa!" I exclaimed in awe, others had a positive attitude as they were giggling over the excitement of being able to fly. "To think that we faced death some moments ago, how ironic," I thought
We closed up the distance and appeared at the center of the lake. There, we had the perfect view as we could see the numbers of those froglike creatures surrounding a small exposed piece of land, on second thought they should be over a hundred. Just as I was trying to estimate their numbers, two huge figures hopped out of the lake onto the stage set before them.
" What are they?" I asked
" They are Anurans" Zephyr answered
" Okayyy, You said that a fight will take place earlier"
" I did"
" For what purpose is it?"
" For mating purpose, of course, a female anuran after maturing receives numerous attention from potential partners with hopes of convincing her to be their mate partner. The Anurans usually conclude this by making the suitors fight amongst themselves, a fight occurs every three days till the winner is decided and turns out today hosts the final fight" Zephyr said looking all excited as she held her hands close to each other and placed them upon her chest looking passionately below like some a maiden looking towards her beloved.
" Isn't it romantic?"
" Hun?, yeah, yeah, very romantic," I said nervously. To be honest, I was disgusted a little, the Anurans had the same looks as frogs except they were larger. The googly eyes, green color, and those limbs, everything was the same except the size.
" Well these ones are a lot smarter," I thought
" What are those?" Sanchez said, he looked at the bank of the lake and squinted his eyes as he attempted to pick up the figures that slowly appeared. We all looked in that direction as well, Zephyr seemed to be busy so she didn't answer us and we didn't bother her as well.
" They look like those Reindeers looking animals we saw earlier," Germaine said.
" No, I don't think so" Sanchez replied
As we attempted discerning the strange bunch at the bank, loud croakings from below invaded our ears.
" What's up now?" Belle asked telepathically
" The fight has started" Zephyr replied
Two giant frogs squatted opposite each other on the bare ground.
THUMMMMPP
The frogs hopped and crashed on each other, each one executing this move simultaneously.
" Whoa!" I and the rest were suddenly captivated and had lost interest in what stood at the bank except for Belle and Germaine. They probably weren't still comfortable looking at these frogs.
Back to the fight, one made a strange movement like it was walking and covered the gap between him and his opponent. Immediately, it warped its hand around the opponent tightening its middle region.
" I'm surprised it could do that despite all the slime they seem to be oozing!" I said to the others.
"Look!'' Sasha said
" Ohh, it's performing your favorite move," I thought as I saw one carrying the other up in the air with those small hands and then
BOOM
It slammed its opponent hard to the ground. What was taking place seemed to be a strange wrestling match with spectators brimming with excitement.
" Ohh, he's done," Sasha said, obviously she was referring to the one that got slammed.
Just then, the one still on its feet hopped and crashed on its opponent still stunned from the slam earlier.
PA PA PA!
Its body beat the ground irregularly after receiving that drop. It was convulsing and white foams were spewing from its large mouth. Seeing this we were all convinced of the winner, the one that had performed the drop suddenly got back on its feet and pushed its opponent back into the lake. We had a winner.
" Is it going to be ok?" I asked
" Yeah, the old ones amongst them can use healing magic. They'll be healed in a swoop" Zephyr said
" That's great"
Immediately, I noticed that the strange figures at the bank were leaving, " this is the perfect time to ask" I thought.
" Lady Zephyr"
" Yes"
" You still haven't answered my questions"
