Cruella collected the marker with slightly shaking hands. She slowly walked toward the white board, stopping just a feet away. She studied the equation over and over again but couldn't understand it. This isn't like normal geometry, infant she could swear this isn't related to geometry at all... probably some kind of cosmic calculations.
She turned to look at Mr Olenio who patiently waited for her to solve it.
"Um I'm sorry sir but I can't seem to understand what this is," she said bowing her head. Students began laughing at her except Amber and the guy she met earlier.
Mr Olenio walked up to her, taking the marker before facing the class.
"And this is why it's good to always pay attention in class. I would advice you'll never to follow the footsteps of this weak Irish if you want to pass my class." He said sternly before facing the board to solve the equation himself.
Cruella slowly lifted her head to see Maggie smirking at her, all other students were still laughing until Mr Olenio silenced them.
She slowly walked back to her seat, with her head on her desk till the end of the class.
After the class, everyone went to the cafeteria for lunch. When Cruella got there, the cafeteria was already filled up with different cliques on a particular bench roll.
She carried her tray from one bench to another looking for an empty sit but couldn't find any. She spotted Amber with some other girls on a bench and decided to join them since it's the only empty one. As she approached the bench, a girl suddenly stood up from her bench and intentionally bumped into Cruella, causing her meal to stain her uniform.
"Oops, didn't see you there," She smirked. Students started laughing at Cruella's state, causing her to boil within. She couldn't understand why even in this world, she still got bullied. Her gaze met with that of Amber and she noticed an apologetic look on Amber's face.
She closed her eyes taking a deep breath before exiting the cafeteria. At least she still had fruits to eat. She went into the females restroom to clean up, after that she decided to have her lunch by the stairs.
She sat there, playing with the apple on her hand. Food isn't the problem here, the problem is she had no clue of how to even go about this world. How will she even help Maggie or bring back Jason when everyone here hated her and would definitely not help her out. Even if she wanted to back out now, she had no way of going back, after all Palena did warn her before sending her back.
"I don't know what to do," She mumbled as a tear trickled down her cheek.
She heard footsteps approaching but ignored it until someone actually sat beside her. She didn't bother turning to see whom it is because she wanted to be alone.
"Here, eat this," She heard his familiar voice speak and immediately looked up to see that same guy.
Why would he be giving her food when he made it clear he didn't like her around him earlier.
"I'm not hungry," she lied focusing her gaze on the apple she held with both hands.
He sighed, placing the tray on the floor. They sat quietly for a while before he spoke up again.
"I'm Daven by the way," He said breaking the silence.
"I never asked you, just leave me alone please" Cruella didn't know why she felt the urge to just punch him on that handsome face of his. She remembered when she kicked Maggie in the toilet and slapped the crap out of Linda when they bullied her at Montena's High school.
"Look Irish.."
"I have a name! Stop calling me Irish like I'm some kind of abomination!" Cruella snapped. She didn't like as everyone kept calling her Irish like she had no other human name. She get that she's not supposed to be alive but that doesn't mean they should address her like some kind of robot that malfunctioned. It's not like they are calling Maggie Necromancer, they still call her Maggie so why should hers be different?
"Cruella, this world is different from the human world you know, the earlier you accept that and start adjusting, the better for you."
What he said made Cruella pause. How did he know she came from the human world?
"H-ow d-id y-ou know?" She stuttered real bad.
"Because I'm a time god. I knew when Palena sent you here and so I followed..for two reasons though." he replied picking up the tray he had earlier placed on the floor. "Here, you don't need to hide it..I know you're hungry." he added handing her the tray again and this time she took it, though hesitantly.
"Thank you," she said before feasting on the meatball and white sauce, her favorite meal.
"Why did you come here?" he asked as he watched her devour the meatball like her life depends on it. He's never seen anyone eat it with as much passion and concentration as she did. She didn't even spare him a glance or answer him until she had finished the last ball.
"To save my friend and bring Jason back. It seems a war is coming and I'm the only one who can stop it but only if I relive my past life which i missed."
"Well there's one thing I must tell you Cruella. Time travel isn't as you think. If you choose to remain in this reality, it eventually becomes your future..the world you once knew would not exit anymore. Whatever impact you make now will determine what will happen to the previous world."
"You're saying I..I won't be able to go back and save Maggie or...or bring back Jason?" Cruella asked looking intently at him.
"You already have a Jason and a Maggie in this world. Is either you live with them or you go back to your real reality now and face whatever is to happen." Daven answered before standing up.
"Wait are you going back? Can you please take me with you? I wanna see my mother." Cruella asked causing him to sit down again.
"I'm a time god Cruella, I can travel back or forth to any reality I want but taking you with me would not be of your benefit."
"Why? Can't you just bring me back here later?" Cruella asked almost frowning.
"Every action has it's consequence. Jason already made his sacrifice for you to live. Bringing him back would also have it's aftereffect."
"Why would Palena bring me here if she knew all these?"
"Because Palena knows what she's doing. The Palena in this world is far different from the Palena in your world and so is your sister. You need to perfect your powers Cruella, if you want to survive this new reality. A war is coming, a war that was sized by your 500 years slumber and now that you're back in time, if you're not strong enough, it would end you as well."
"How do I do that? How do I get back my sister? How do I find Palena and prevent this war?"
The bell went off and Daven stood up again.
"That's a topic for another day Cruella. Here take this," he said handing her something wrapped in a white cloth. "For tomorrow night, you will need it." he said before leaving.
Cruella removed the cloth and paused at the silver dagger she held. It had what seemed like ancient carving on it and she was sure it is a message.
Wrapping it back, she headed back to the classroom.
Daven is right, she needs to adapt to this world now. Whatever Red moon's day is, she would participate like everyone else.
