Rich people, always acting like they own everything. So annoying.
" Mr.Edwards, I do know Fleur. Infact, I know better than all of you. If you would like answers,please follow me to my office." Now I have to explain myself. So tiring!
Along the way, we met several doctors who needed my guidance on handling some cases. Finally,we made it my office.
"I'm sorry. I do not have enough seats. Please do get comfortable."
They all found where to settle and got ready to here what I had to say.
"Now please explain."
"Ok Mr.Edwards. First, I'm Dr Rio Wright. Second,there are somethings that I know,there are also somethings I can't explain but I'll tell you what I know. But first,please explain what happened for her to be brought to the hospital." I watched as they struggled to bring out the truth of the matter. Shortly after, the guy with dirty blond hair, I think Brax, explained briefly what had happened.
"That explains a lot."
"What do you mean?"
"Let me tell you a story of how I first met Lucy."
As kids,Fleur was enclosed, withdrawn. Like a porcupine she would always have spikes surrounding her. She never got close to other people and she never let them get close to her. The first time I saw her was when she had her first break down. Someone had manhandled her and that triggered a psychological reaction where she would experience an emotional meltdown. For a few days,anyone who would touch would make her scream in fear. That's why she convulsed when Mr.Edwards held her hand.
It will take a few days for her to calm down but I can't guarantee that she won't still reject your touch. So when she is awake,don't show that you're hurt by that. Take it slow with her.
"But that does not explain how you know her?" said one,Alec.
"Well,that's among the things I can't tell you.
"Why not? Telling would be giving us assurance of her safety. " added Fergus.
These people really care for her. That's good. She will have more friends this way. "From the way you are all acting, it seems that you might be close to her. I can't tell you anything even more because of that. Fleur trusts you and she considers you an friends, the. she will tell you everything. "
We were all quiet for a few seconds until Mr.Edwards broke the silence. "Alright,we won't pry anymore into your relationship with Ms.Hales. But, how do we take care of her now and when will she wake up?" "Well, right now she is trying to come to terms with what has happened and only she can decide when to wake up. Until then, we can only hope and pray." After my explanation, they left my office and Emily was the one left to care for Fleur. Sigh,was that hard .
A week had passed and Fleur showed no signs of waking up. I was starting to get worried. Emily looked even.more worried than me. She also looked tired and stressed out. One would think that Lucy was her sister.
"Ms.Miller,please go home and take a rest. Come back when you're well rested."
"But doc,I can't leave Lucy alone."
"She won't be happy if she awakes and finds you a mess."
"A mess? I shouldn't look that bad."
"Mirror's in the bathroom Ms.Miller."
I watched her walk to the bathroom before letting a shriek. Haha,what a cute little lady.
"Dr.Wright, you are such a meanie. Why did you not tell me sooner?"
"You were taking care of Fleur. I didn't want to disturb you."
We were quiet for a while before I finally convinced her to head home. She really is cute with her petite height. "Fleur, you had better wake up. If not, I'll tell grandpa and second brother and eldest sister. Yes,I'm serious so don't test me alright? You gotta wake up. There's too many people wishing for you to wake up. I didn't think you would actually have friends. I'm proud of you. Maybe I would treat you to some chocolates when you wake up." After checking her vitals, I left to continue with my rounds around the hospital.
That voice,that is Rio. But what is he doing here? Did he become a doctor? I'm still in the hospital? I gotta see him,but where am I and how do I get out?
"Finally,you wakeup. What a weakling?"a voice from the shadows sounded out.
"Who said that? Come out if you dare!"
"Heh,you actually still have the guts. As expected, see if you can handle this."
Silence descended and what I saw next was shocking. "what are you?"
It looked just me, but more goth.
"I am you, all the negatives that you won't embrace, all the qualities that you don't want."
Wow,that's messed up, I think. They do always say that you end up with a broken psychie after going through all that.
"Well,I wanna leave this place."
" Them fight me!"
Wow, this is strange. I really want to see Emily and Rio. Alright. Let me try and fight.
"How are we competing?" Is it general knowledge, weaponry, battle tactics, medicine? Or more ethical like fashion and the like? What will she pick?
"Chess."
"..."
"Right now, your mental state is weak. If we try anything serious,it might lead to permanent damage. "
Ok,this is very strange but ,ok. Let me try. For hours we played chess and always ending g at a draw. This had to be the weirdest battle of my whole life. I carefully scrutinised this 'me'. Her features weren't really human. Very strange!.
"Ok,we can't win so I'll let you go for now but mark my wor....." I cut her off real quick.
" Whatever! I'm gone."
And with that,I decided to join the land of the living.
