Hmmmm,I'm well rested so I can go back and take care of Fleur. Maybe I should carry a bento box for her,just in case she wakes up. I got into my car and drove to the hospital. Along the way I spotted some chocolates so I decided to buy some for Dr.Wright and Fleur. I got to the hospital and headed up to Fleur's room. The hall way was awfully quiet which was rather strange. I rushed to Fleur's room worried that she might be assassinated or something. What I saw shocked me to the core. I found her and Dr.Wright having a face off!!
EARLIER
Finally, I can open my eyes. The first thing I saw was the ceiling but I heard some footsteps.
"Rio,is that you?" I said with a raspy voice. Argh,I hadn't had water for a while so it's to be expected. I had the footsteps pause and then a soft voice sounded.
"Fleur,you're finally awake. You had me, us worried" He then rushed towards the bedside and gave a bone crushing hug. Us? Whom does he mean? Anyway,I felt tears flow down my cheeks. I guess everything finally crashed down on me.
"Shhhhh, don't cry, Fleur. I'm right here."
"You know, Rio, I was so scared. I thought I would never wake up. It was scary,the darkness was everywhere. The voices helped me a lot though,yours especially."
"You're the little sister of that guy. I would never let anything happen to you."
It took us a while to calm down after which,Rio double checked my vitals to ensure that I was alright. Yeah,he is a worry wart. "Ok, Fleur here are some pills that you have to take to he.... ."
"No,I'm not taking that bitter stuff. You had better keep them away from me."
PRESENT
"Emily,keep that guy and his medicines away from me."
"Fleur, it's for your own good alright?" Hmph, these guys will be the death of me.
"Fleur Hales,you had better take your medicines or else I'll tell the old man and everybody else that your sick." threatened Rio. Oh dear, he can't be serious?
"You're pulling a bluff,right?"
"Try me little missy. I'll tell all of them of what has happened and they would react accordingly. So go on, refuse to take them."
Rio's serious this time round. I can't get out of this. Bitter medicines, I hate you!
"I hate you,Rio."
"Almost as much as you love me,Fleur. Now bottoms up."
I looked like a criminal on death row as I forcefully stuffed the pills in my mouth. They tasted like death.
"See,that was not so hard."
"Easy for you to say,doc. You're not swallowing them."
"Oh Fleur,here have some chocolates to wash out the bitter taste."
"You see,Rio. Emily loves me the most."
"Whatever you say, Fleur. Thanks very much,Ms.Miller. Fleur can be childish some times."
"It's no problem at all. She is after all Fleur."
"Can you guys start using first name basis? We are all friends right now,right?"
For the first time, I see Rio bashful. I guess something happened between him and Emily. Hehe,I hope I won't have to play match maker. We talked for some time until started feeling drowsy. Guess the medicines had kicked in. The two left me rest and I was sure I would push them even closer together. Hehe,Emily would be a nice sister in law. Now, lemme welcome the darkness,that I hate.
"Emily,we got you're text? Is she really awake?"
"Sheesh,Ferg. It's not like she's gonna die."
"Alec, don't say that. But seriously,how is she Emily?"
"Jade,everyone,relax. She is ok. She woke up hours ago and she took some meds which made her sleep. She has been asleep for some good hours."
"Thank God. This whole thing has put the entire department on edge. Hope she gets all better."
"Yeah,Brax. We hope so too."
She is awake,good. I was scared that she would never wake up. He has some answering to do. Like who is she? Why was she at that ball? And most importantly, is she White dragon? Of course I won't ask straight up if she is White dragon. I will probably test her. As long as she is awake.
"Has any of you seen Dr.Wright?" It's nice to see that they all care for Lucy, even though Alec is having a hard time accepting her. Can't blame the guy. We once had a teammate that almost cost us our lives. Trusting again is not easy.
"He is in the room with her." answered Emily. Strange. Is he really that close with her? I entered the room and saw a sight that had me seeing red. Fleur had slept on the bed while Dr.Wright was in a chair also asleep but they were holding hands. I don't know why this sight disturbed me and why I strangely felt betrayed.
Fleur, as if sensing our presence woke up and I saw the guys encircle her like mother hens, yes. Mother hens.
