There were people everywhere, coming up to me asking me how I was feeling and thanking me for the party. I glided through the crowds talking to everyone here and there before seeing Orion and Sienna standing talking in the corner of the lounge. Ignoring his burning gaze, I began chatting to Mei.
"Don't you look stunning!" She gasped, making me spin around. She was already a little drunk from the pool but even worse now. Her drink was full and as she danced, it began to spill down her hand. She giggled and licked it up before gulping the rest down. As quickly as she appeared, she was gone in search for Seb… and another drink.
As people began dancing, the crowds moved outside, and the music thumped through the air. We partied, drank, and partied some more. I ground against another wolf. His hands held my waist, but I was too drunk to care.
I may have been too drunk to realise how the mood changed as Orion stomped his way over to us and pushed the wolf before grabbing my hand and pulling me inside.
I tried to push him off, but his iron grip didn't budge. "Orion, stop! You're hurting me." I groaned as he pushed me into the games room which was empty. He slammed the door shut behind us, locking it. The music was faint, and the moon shone into the room as the only light.
"Is there a reason you're letting a complete stranger grind up on you, huh? Trying to make me jealous, Esmerelda?" His voice was laced with a poison that made me sober up.
"How about you turning up with your fiancé? That wasn't exactly a mate thing to do." I crossed my arms over my chest, staring him down.
"She was invited."
"So was he."
"Why do you have to be so difficult, Esmerelda? I am trying to do what's right for you and here you are dressing like this making everything worse."
I chuckled, snorted, and began laughing like it was really funny. "What?"
"Do you remember what I said to you in the hospital?" His face was blank. "I told you that you were strong for not rejecting me. I was wrong. You are the most selfish person I have ever met." I spat out, all the anger surfacing.
"I am doing this for you." He repeated.
I scoffed, "What exactly have you done for me? You didn't reject me but didn't accept me. You ignored me when I came to you for help with my heat. You left me in pain for two days and only saved me when you didn't want my blood on your hands. You have done nothing for me. This is to save your stupid image."
His face fell and I watched guilt weave itself into his features. I began to feel sorry for him: stupid mate bond.
As silence filled the air, tension began to rise. I walked slowly towards him, reaching my arm out. As I touched him, sparks flew across my skin and once again all those thoughts filled me. I needed more.
He turned and saw my features covered in lust.
"One night." He spoke. I nodded and he lifted me up placing me on the pool table as we began making out, fuelling all the needs that were coursing through my body.
I heard him zip down his trousers and a wrapper being torn. Thank goddess he wore protection. I lifted myself up as he slipped my underwear off, the noise of the material hitting the floor seemed to echo in the silent room.
"Ready?" He whispered as he positioned by my entrance. I nodded, closing my eyes.
Pain shot through my core as he pushed himself into me, knowing he was too big. When it became a little less painful, I began moaning slightly. Then Orion went fast and hard, pushing himself in and out of me at a lightning speed. The noise of us hitting one another hard filled the room. I opened my eyes and looked as his face was fierce and his claws were extended ripping through the felt on the table as he pounded hard into me. I felt the tears fall down my face from the sheer pain and pleasure that pulsed through me in waves.
And just as quickly as it started, he was finished. Orion grunted before slowing down before he eventually stopped. He pushed himself off me and walked over to the corner of the room. I sat on the table, my chest heaving.
I slipped my dress back down as Orion put the condom in the bin. He helped me up off the table before walking back into the party without another word. Like an idiot, I watched him leave.
The aching was gone but now it was just replaced with deep sadness and disappointment. Screwing was not the answer to our problems. I pulled my underwear back on and walked myself over to the bar. I was sore and achy but chucked back another two drinks hoping it would help. As I gazed out the window, I watched people get into their cars and go back home. The party must be almost over.
