Chapter 11 - Chapter 9: The Unwelcome Guests

Before Haise pushed her away with anemo-magic, she already knew they were being watch, as she can sense 'them', from afar.

"Haise!" Ignoring the fact about the anemo-magic he just demonstrated, Neaj shouted in concern as the smoke of dust was blocking the view, but she heard no response. Then suddenly, the winds around from Haise's direction moved oddly, circling the place where she was looking at; smoke of dust ascended more, almost covering the statue and the entire garden.

Neaj covered her face with her arm, soon her eyes emitted golden glow and could see four shadow-like silhouettes through their mana, but not clearly because of the smoke of dust. 'Mages of the Black Hats Order! What are they doing here?'

Haise on the other hand, was already holding his wooden sword and his wound at the left side of his torso as he was looking at the attackers in the smoke of dust with his hidden eyes already glowing red.

The red glow in his eyes left Neaj stunned and speechless, as she saw him that way. Furthermore, she was also distracted by the scent coming from him: it was quite unique and addicting 'scent' to the olfactory system, almost smell like a flower.

Neaj at very moment, already conjured two dark-blue light-swords made through light-magic after she analyzed the situation. Then, she dashed towards them without wasting a single second to help and defend Haise from the attackers.

...

From the moment he dodged and bended away the attacks to his left side, Haise quickly leaped away while holding his wound with his hand covered with his blood. He, then, positioned himself at that moment, to battle for his life or whatever they were targeting.

Due the damage he received from the attacker, Haise secretly focuses the concentration of his mana to his right leg while covering his left leg with bari-leg-brace and some bari-tissue to cover the cracks in his bone. He also did the same treatment to his wounds. Futhermore, getting hit by a brute force covered with some electro-spell was indeed no joke! Thanks to his magical wooden sword not being metal, the electro-spell did not crawl further to cause him more damage in his body.

With a brute force in his right leg and gaze filled coldness and killing intent, Haise pushed the bridge of his eyeglasses then finally dashed towards the first attacker.

Feeling extremely intimidated from the killing-intent and pressure that seem as heavy as mountain, the attackers made a stepped backward, especially, the mage who attacked him first.

Haise, with a strong concentration of anemo in his wooden sword, let out a sharp anemo-blade from his offense. However, the first attacker managed to block it his great-sword. Then, another attacker shot him with fireball.

Taking the second attacker's offense as an advantage, Haise used the fireball as a misdirection and vanished. Before the second attacker realize, his head has already been severed from his body as the bloody line slowly appeared around his neck. While the first attacker's legs, on the other hand, has been severed by the blades of wind from behind.

The third attacker and the fourth attacker were already stopped by Neaj with her magical powers; the third and fourth attackers were capable of using pyro-magic and geo-magic and was also capable of healing themselves. Judging by their capabilities and primologial attributes of their magic, seems these mages was already expecting some unwelcomed visitors to fulfill their quest. At the very least, that's what Neaj suspecting. Furthermore, witnessing how Haise fought the two attackers alone left her quite stunned and couldn't help but admired his swordsmanship and the way he demonstrates his power and unique skills and 'abilities' (such as how he mysteriously vanishes then appeared at different places as if he was warping through time and reality). This also stirred up her curiosity and desire to learn about him further, as someone who literally watches him grew up with her daughters. And seeing him like that and with that kind of magical power, was indeed unbelievable to her, especially after the 'accident'.

Haise appeared behind Neaj; they were now standing back-to-back together. As he had the same judgement as Neaj had, he said: "It seems these mages has business here. Are they perhaps trying to get that luxuries here?"

"Or perhaps you are that luxury they really seek."

Hearing what Haise just said made her raised her eyebrows, she looked at him with her glowing eyes narrowed as he just hit the bullseye. "How did you--"

"Time is not on your side, Ms. Neaj. Just leave them to me and go to your daughters before it's too late." Haise interrupted.

"How about you?" Neaj asked in concerned.

"I'll be fine; I have my ways. Now quit the delay and go!" Haise heavily said as he sensed more unwelcome visitors. "You don't have to mind them chasing you; these mages are undead and already shift their attention to me."

Neaj raise her eyebrows again as she looked at Haise. Seeing her worried face, he said: "You smell it, too, right? Because of it I can't go with you. These bastards will just keep pestering your way."

"Now go. We'll meet again after this."

Haise knew How strong Neaj really is. So strong that even an insane warrior would become sane and kneel before her. And no matter how hard she tried to hide it, he can literally see the tremendous and extremely dense mana flowing in her very existence as if she not a human and an ordinary mage. So dark yet so bright and it reminds him of his true power.

But why did Haise pushed Neaj to go if she were this strong? Simply because the luxury the attackers seek is her spirit.

Neaj, with a single slash, killed all the attackers around and erased from existed with dark blue flames and lightning. Two dark blue feather-wing sprouted from her back, and before she leaves and fly, she said in a very serious tone: "You better make it alive. These mages are no joke."

"I'll do my very best." The only words Haise replied, as he turned around and faced at the direction where he expected the unwelcomed guests would come.

Neaj narrowed her gaze on Haise's back and to the mysterious 'thing' in his right hand, then finally leave and flew. On the other hand, Haise, with his wooden sword on his shoulder, swung his wooden sword downward as he tightened his clench to the scroll that was given to him by Virgentae.

The scroll does not have a paper like a regular scroll; its color was dark-silver, and it appears to be made of some mysterious metal.

"This time, you are all going to face the wall of my judgment and freedom will be our way."

As the unwelcome guests arrived, the rune-like characters and the art on the scroll began to glow in vigor.

"Virgentae..."
