Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Wider Than Yesterday

"When this... flame faded, surely, I will die."

Haise feels the strange heat of the flame within him with closed eyes and with his right hand on his chest. It was neither cold nor warm. He assumed, it was a flame that currently keeping him alive as it was just there within him, blazing, brightly, when he woke-up in the same world he used to be living.

As he could remember from the last spark of his life... here in this world, he was just a normal student and a citizen of Hinhinima with lonely life. There were some merry times with the people he knows, but all of that ended in grey.

The last rope he was holding on with the red string, tying him with commitment and after the death of his auntie, suddenly cut ties with him without even leaving a single word.

Haise tried to contact her as many times as he could, back then, but not a single call was answered. And when he had finally met with that person by chance? Their red string had been officially cut off by her... All for the sake of her current lover. Haise didn't give any comment about that at that moment, and as 'usual', he understood her situation with tight lips and accepted it all with a soft smile on his face, though he was undoubtedly hurt by heart.

It was such a warm smile for his childhood friend with an awkward laugh, but sadly for her ignorance and indecisiveness, that warm and gentle certain smile would no longer be express and be seen on his face in the same way in his current state.

Two months later from that day, Haise met his end from saving a little girl from getting hit by a raging car. By his death, his soul got transported to another world, where magic and supernatural beings exist, too, and was expose in the eyes around world (such as elves, dwarves, mages/noble mages, gods and goddesses, and even heroes and saints).

In that world, he had spent his entire timeline and experienced all the things therein he had read from the book given to him by a mysterious old lady he once helped by giving her food and shelter since he was living alone.

Later did he learn that the book was not just a book and not just a magical book (like grimoires), but the actual book that can rewrote entirely his soul and fate except his memories.

And of course, unlike the "fated hero," he was not the protagonist therein. He was just a supporting character with hollow existence— meaning, no one knows about him to be that great... except for the people he grew up together with, therein (such as his elven mother in that world).

'But who cares! As if I still have something left on that world. I died as a villain there; that's it! Ha—, surely, my death already washed and freed that world with peace from its eternal imprisonment.' He was really just glad that it ended accordingly to his plan.

It's been almost two days since Haise opened his eyes on this world once again. To his surprised, it was only just two days had passed from when he got hit by a car. 'Is it really just two days? I've been there for countless centuries already, and yet here? ...On this world?" He really was confused, wondering the mysteries of how the time-and-space actually works, including dimensions.

He didn't even expect to be able to get back to the world he once lived as just a normal human-being, as his soul got pulled and trapped inside of the cosmic egg after he save the spirit-realm connected to the Imprisoned World, for who knows how long. All of that occurred after his heart was pierced by the woman he knew quite well as when he was the current Dark Sovereign — the entity of chaos itself.

Furthermore, to his surprise, the woman who had killed him became a witch instead of becoming a saintess like her twin sister; she was also the one responsible for waking him up from his slumbering.

...

"(*Sigh)"

After his moment of pondering concluded, Haise let out a long sigh as he felt the vague feelings within him becoming clear and strong as time passes through day and night.

It was surely the feelings he once had have, or rather, the feelings he had left behind as he lived to another world.

Each place he felt a sense of familiarity, suddenly, a heavy feeling gaped and filled his chest. It was as if an erosion of emotions wanted to escape or be satisfied with no regrets from a certain time.

'Am I really this lonely... even in this world?' He wondered, feeling the gentle grasp of the wind under the gaze of the full moon and the starry night sky atop the rooftop of a towering building.

Shortly after, Haise stood-up and pushed the bridge of his eyeglasses hidden behind his long bangs.

From the reflection of his silence, a holographic window intently appeared before him, stating a very few details about him:

[Analysis concluded!]

[Haise| Quasi-vampire]

[Physiological Age: 16]

[Worldly Occupation: Student (Former)]

"Quasi-vampire, huh?" He muttered and soon his gaze went and narrowed to the word 'Student.' 'I guess, this will be my life for now. At least for now.'

'Life is full of surprises, even on this world...'

A red glow emitted behind his eyeglasses with his eyes being hindered to be shown to the world by his jet-black hair.

'After all, tomorrow is wider than yesterday.'

Haise stepped his right foot forward to where no concrete can be step upon followed by his other foot. The moment he did and was about to fall from the rooftop, he suddenly vanished without traces, leaving the leeway of the wind.
