Carla, who has finished shopping for Jayke's needs, now the girl is ready to go home to Jayke's apartment.
'I can't wait to see Jayke's reaction in this outfit.'
A faint smile was clearly visible on Carla's face.
She drove her car at a moderate speed, she couldn't stop smiling at the thought of Jayke wearing those clothes.
"Gosh! Why do I get so happy imagining Jayke's face that might look funny or confused later," Carla whispered, feeling a little guilty for Jayke.
Carla took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
.
.
Less than an hour Carla had arrived in front of Jayke's apartment with all the groceries she was holding in her right and left hands.
Click!
"Gosh! You bought a lot," Jayke said as he opened the door to his apartment which immediately found Carla with various totes in her right and left hands.
A faint grin was given by Carla first before the girl gave an excuse to defend herself.
"This isn't much Jayke, are you sure that you will finish your disguise in one day? I'm not sure if you go undercover for only one day, especially when Nial's condition doesn't allow to find out the culprit, isn't it?" Carla said with her statement.
For a moment Jayke was silent, his mouth suddenly could not be opened. He really felt that he couldn't refute what Carla had just said.
"You cheated."
Those were the only two words Jayke could say to Carla.
Carla's laughter was loud in the apartment. Really she really likes the atmosphere.
"Well, you just follow my words, and you should try these clothes one by one," Carla said as she slightly pushed Jayke into his apartment to the young man's room.
Jayke couldn't help but obey Carla's words. It can't be avoided at all. After all, Carla's only intention was to help him, and for no other reason.
Soon Jayke was trying one by one the clothes he would wear.
"Does this suit me?" Jayke asked Carla as the young man had just come out of his room in a maroon blazer, with a white shirt inside.
"Good! You're like a model... you're exactly the same size as Nial, you really are identical twins, did your parents ever call you two wrong? Or did you guys ever try to switch places while you were in school or something?"
Jayke was silent for a moment and thought carefully about what Carla had just asked him because he himself also didn't remember much about it.
"It seems that my parents never mispronounced my name, it's just that some of our friends often mispronounced our names, but it wasn't long before I changed schools."
"Moving? Why did you move? Is there a problem?" asked Carla who was quite curious about what Jayke had said earlier.
Jayke nodded his head, and told Carla that he preferred silence, he didn't really like interacting with others, so Jayke chose to leave the school.
Carla nodded her head slowly understanding the meaning of what Jayke had just said.
"So you chose home schooling and Nial regular school as usual?" Carla asked once again confirming Jayke's words.
A nod of Jayke's head gave Carla. The young man confirmed the question she had just asked him.
"I thought you were in the same school all the time with Nial, like twins who couldn't be separated," said Carla casually.
Jayke slightly laughed at Carla's outstretched hand stroking Carla's head.
"You're wrong, it seems like an impossible thing will happen to me and Nial, I didn't get along with Nial before," said Jayke who didn't cover up his past with Nial at all.
Carla frowned in confusion. She really didn't expect Jayke to say something like that. She only knew that most of the twins did not want to be separated from each other, and it was said that both of them would miss each other if they were separated.
"Not all things are like that, even though the sentence has some truth in it ... I will feel very worried if something bad will happen to Nial, and vice versa," Jayke whispered.
Carla, who quickly digested Jayke's sentence, of course immediately hugged Jayke. She realized that if Jayke said something like that right now, then he was nothing but talking about what was going on in his heart right now.
"I'm sure that everything will be fine, we will be able to find the mastermind behind Nial's incident and also your father," Carla said, sounding sincere.
Jayke who was initially confused by Carla's sudden attitude, in the end just gave a sincere smile and returned the hug that Carla gave him earlier.
It was the first time he felt that he was given genuine love from other people who entered his life without any fear that what was happening to him at this time was a mere fake.
"I know, I believe that if you were by my side everything would be easier than before, and I would feel optimistic," Jayke told Carla.
Carla gave a satisfied smile. She liked the sentence where it was clearly implied that she was needed by Jayke.
"Don't worry, I will always be by your side because you are my best friend, so there's no way I'd just leave you when you're having a hard time."
If usually Jayke doesn't understand what friendship means because he has always been alone, without any desire to have other people share his thoughts with him, then not with Carla who is in front of him. The Carla he knows is a girl he deserves to admire, trust and also love.
'If today were the right time, I definitely want to tell you that honestly, I want to want you more than my best friend but right now is not the time for me to think about that! You have to be self aware Jayke! Now is the time for you to find the mastermind behind what happened to your family when you weren't by their side!' Jayke's monologue in mind trying to wake himself up.
