Chapter 41: Castle
"Y-You! How did you become so strong in a few days? Who are you?"
The assassin named Philip asked with a grim look.
'Hmm? He knew what happened in the Baxbron Woods? It seems they are also trying to search for my true identity.'
Abium calmly took two steps backward and asked a question instead of responding.
"Why is Viscount aiming for Baron's head? What are you guys after?"
"How did you know?" The guy named Philip got startled by his question and asked.
On the other hand, the nearby assassin gave Philip a sharp glare and cursed.
"He is probing you, you idiot. Don't say a word." He paused, aimed his sword at Abium, and added while attacking.
"You are indeed a worthy opponent praised by Sir Watson. But you are still a single person."
On the other hand, Abium blocked those sword attacks, locked his gaze on the assassin named Philip, and asked further.
"Are you also a member of the mysterious three-headed snake organization?"
Meanwhile, the assassin named Philip suddenly went stiff and stuttered.
"N-No."
Even the other assassin took a distance from Abium and cast a wary look.
"How did you know about our organization?" He asked in a grim tone.
"I know more than that."
Abium smiled mysteriously and quietly observed the two assassins.
On the other hand, Philip snorted coldly and spoke.
"Even if you knew about us, nothing will change. But we can promise you that your name will spread all over the kingdom for assassinating Baron Auguinare. Fun, isn't it?"
"Shut up! You aren't supposed to talk much." The other assassin felt a headache as he heard his partner's words and started attacking Abium fiercer.
Meanwhile, Abium calmly evaded the attacks and muttered to himself.
'I don't know why they are targeting Baron, but I'm going to mess up everyone's plan.'
He imbued mana into his sword the next instant and created a whitish sword aura around the sword edges.
Despite that, both blue-masked Assassins didn't even flinch at all.
At that moment, Abium also noticed that a white glow appeared on the Assassins' swords and furrowed.
'No wonder they acted confidently!'
The basic sword aura enveloped those two sword edges and appeared sharper.
Abium clicked his tongue as he continued to defend against their attacks and glanced at Helena.
At that moment, she and the enemy assassin named Sam seemed equally matched.
'She will be okay for the time being.'
He retracted his gaze, quickly took a deep breath, and imbued more mana into his long sword.
A sunshine aura suddenly replaced the whitish one and glowed in a radiant light!
He then gripped the sword hilt and slashed the sword at the assassins.
The next instant, the yellowish sunshine aura gathered together and created two electric bolts of rays!
Those two bolts of rays flew towards the Assassins at an incredible speed, arrived before their chests in a second, and struck them.
Then, the electric current passed through their bodies and paralyzed them on the spot.
They loosened their grips the next instant and let go of their weapons.
"Why are you dropping your swords when facing the enemy? Are you that much eager to die?"
The blue-masked assassin named Sam shouted at them from the other side and hurriedly ducked his head to evade the sword slash from Helena.
Then, he backed away in anxiety and looked at Philip and another Third-Tier Assassin.
Sam soon noticed that no response came from them and tried to run towards them to help, but Helena intervened.
Meanwhile, Philip and the other assassin completely lost control over their bodies and felt that every part of their bodies turned numb.
Although they couldn't breathe properly, they could still see what was happening in front and got panicked inside.
Slowly, both slumped on the ground with thud noises, causing Sam to get more anxious.
"The fight ended smoothly."
Abium slowly walked near them, took both of their swords, and stored them inside his space ring.
After that, he shifted his gaze toward Sam and dashed forward.
Within ten seconds, Abium and Helena beat him and even apprehended him.
Once he was stripped entirely naked, Helena made him kneel on the dirt road and tried his hands using ropes.
She also tied the other two Third-Tier Warriors and killed the rest.
Then, she turned her gaze towards Abium and spoke.
"I will keep an eye on them. You can go and aide Lord Baron."
Meanwhile, Abium also nodded and started moving towards the town's center.
Many people were running here and there in panic along the way, and the whole town was in complete chaos.
The sudden attack of the unknown enemy caused everyone to be on high alert.
Abium also saw several town guards fighting the assassins and appeared to be in bad shape.
Many thieves in ragged clothes entered merchants' houses and started looting everything. They were even involved in threats, killings, and sexual harassment and caused chaos everywhere.
'I knew these thieves guild members are up to no good.'
He sighed heavily and fastened his footstep towards the Castle.
A few minutes later, Abium finally arrived at the Stone Castle and looked at the surrounding three-meter tall wall.
But as he walked closer to the entrance, he couldn't help but cover his nose.
At that moment, more than thirty people lay on the ground and were covered in blood and swords.
Some were already dead, while others lost a limb or two. There was only dread and terror that were visible on their faces.
"Help!" "My arms." "It hurts! "…
Screams and moans echoed at the Castle entrance and gave a gloomy atmosphere.
All of them were First and Second-Tier Warriors. But they stood no chance against the mysterious Assassins.
Abium knew that even if he rose to become a high-tier mage, these casualties would be bound to happen.
'This is just the beginning.'
Abium shifted his gaze towards the wooden entrance gate and furrowed.
The entrance gate was sliced into multiple pieces at that moment and revealed the courtyard to his eyes.
Before he could take a step forward, an explosive sound came from inside and caused the whole Castle to shake.
'Is Baron still alive?'
He hurriedly walked into the courtyard and observed the surroundings.
The view of the stone castle in his mind was long gone. He saw wrecked battlements, and many areas were still burning due to the earlier explosion.
Half of the guard tower looked destroyed on his right side, while the other half remained standing but appeared charred.
He quietly walked past the grassy yard filled with broken walls, stones, and dead bodies and moved towards the Castle's donjon.
After walking for a while, he soon saw a two-meter tall wide-open metal gate of castle donjon and advanced.
He also heard sword clashing sounds and shouts of humans from inside and realized that the battle must have reached the final phase.
'It seems I came at the right time.'
Nodding, he stepped on the elevated platform and walked into the donjon.
