Yuna and Ygdran followed after the Gatekeeper and Tamashi. Yuna glanced up as they passed by a huge three headed dog, Cerberus. One of the dog's heads watched her as she walked by, then returned to staring towards the gate.
The Gatekeeper stopped beside yet another gate way. He looked up at it, then placed his staff on the ground.
"Well, I hope you two are ready. I'll be quite disappointed if you both die out there. So hurry and kill a few gods and come back." Tamashi spoke.
"You will be dropped off in a town area. Do what you can to gather information on locations of gods. If you can find any, then you will have to find a way to kill them thereafter." Gatekeeper spoke.
A black aura began to swirl around Yuna and Ygdran as he said this, and then her vision became black.
"Goodluuuuuck." She heard Tamashi say, and then she found herself standing beside Ygdran in an open field of grass.
Yuna took in a deep breath of air, closing her eyes. Memories from her childhood all came rushing back to her at once. Running through the fields with her brother and Tanner, playing games in the beautiful spring, summer, winter, and fall. She loved all the seasons. She had a love for nature in general. But after so many years of living in purgatory, where the air was engrossed in the scent of blood, ash and smoke, she had almost forgotten what fresh air was like.
"Well. It's been a long time since I've been outside.. huh.?" Ygdran spoke.
"Don't talk to me." Yuna responded.
"We will have to learn how to work together if we want to kill a god, Yuna." Ygdran glared at her.
"That doesn't mean we have to talk at the direct moment." Yuna responded. Then she looked around and saw a town a ways off. At the edge of the town was a rustic sign with the word "Feddle" on it.
"They really put us in the middle of nowhere, didn't they?" Ygdran observed.
"Again, I just said there is no need for us to talk." Yuna responded. Then she looked down at the grass at her feet. *Could I just stay here in the overworld? Could I escape purgatory and never have to return? Is that even possible..?* she wondered. Then she raised her hand to her arm, remembering the marking. *No. they will always find me. But some day soon… I'll have enough power to kill them all.*
"We need to find a group of criminals in order to organize them and use them to locate gods. Go, find some."
"I thought you said we didn't need to talk?" Ygdran asked.
"We aren't talking, I'm giving you an order."
"And who the hell put you in charge-"
Yuna spun to face Ygdran, her hydras taking form around her body and she glared him down. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that." She hissed, a crazed look in her eyes.
Ygdran stepped back, initially in fear, then his expression became a cold, frustrated glare. "Fine. I'll find some pawns." He said reluctantly.
"Good. And don't forget, you are one of them." Yuna hissed.
Ygdran gave no response and, instead, stormed off towards Fiddle. In the mean time, while Ygdran was attempting to find pawns for them to use, Yuna went off towards the forest a ways off. At the center of the forest we're towering mountains that went high into the sky.
When they formed their group, they'd need a hiding place. She assumed that a forest was the best place to start. She began heading towards the woods, entering the tree-line and heading in the general direction of the mountains.
Ash she walked, the smell of the forest came to ease her and comfort her. It had been so long since she was last surrounded by so much life, it almost overwhelmed her. The bark rolling free of trees, the grass gliding across the bottom of her feet, the thorns that curled and spiraled in tangled throughout the forest, the bushes laden with berries, all of it just brought back all the memories of so long ago.
She couldn't help but wonder how she had become what she is now. She wondered if her family would be disappointed in her. Not that she had a choice.
Then the image of Mirai came to her mind.. and all those memories came back. The demon's talons cleaning piercing through her baby sister's skull, Mirai's blood drenching Yuna's white dress red with crimson blood.
Yuna looked down at her self and shuddered, seeing blood coating her hands and clothes… but then she blinked. It had just been her mind playing tricks on her. But, it was just as affective. All the guilt for her sister's death, Edric's death, Tanner's death, her mother's death, her father's death, all the countless many who died, she felt guilt for all of it. But that was the fuel that gave her rage and wrath, what drove her determination to end the existence of all demons, and if she became a demon herself in the end, then that included her.
