When all beings were created by the gods, not all were created equal. The humans' small size held them back, but their intelligence and ambition gave them an edge. The almighty Dragons had impenetrable scales that could deflect the strongest of swords, wings that helped them glide through the sky, and elemental breaths to scorch, freeze, or even electrify their opponents. But their arrogance breed complacency, they were soon overtaken by humans as king of the world. Then there were Titians, they were once powerful enough to fight off the dragons. Some could lift whole mountains while others could freeze entire continents. But what led to their downfall was their one fatal weakness, storms. The toughest of the titans couldn't withstand the magical storms generated by the storm dragons, who exploited the weakness to end the Titian species, leaving only one Titian alive, and their ancestors, giants.
"Charge!" thousands of men dressed in metal armor ran towards a large city in the mountains. There was a wall surrounding the city, but there was already a large hole in it. The soldiers charged through the wall but were met by the gapping maw of a dragon, who sprayed fire all over them, burning them to a crisp. This battle was one of the many failures in the war against the dragons, the humans were just no match for the dragons, so they started to enlist giants, as they had fire resistant skin, great strength comparable to 100 human men, and most importantly they were easy to manipulate.
With the giants help, the humans won the war, but seeing the usefulness of the giants, the humans enslaved them, made them work as mules, and erased their existence from the war against dragons.
"Move forward!" There was a lengthy line of giants being escorted, they had large spikes in their chest that were connected by chains, their hands were held together by hand cuffs, and they all looked miserable.
In the deepest parts of the mines, giants swung pickaxes at stone and other valuable materials, creating large gashes in the world that would never heal.
In the plains, giants were used as mules, tugging metal wagons full of cargo, held back by the spike in their chests, and the fact their eyes had been removed, making them reliant on the driver to guide them.
In cities, giants were used as guards and foot soldiers. Still they were not respected, and had many magical spells tracking where ever they were on their bodies.
Their status as slaves didn't improve when the demons attacked, they were immune to becoming a demon, but that was a bad thing, as the rulers accused them of already being demons and that all giants should be hunted down.
Even when the demons gained control of them, they were seen as slaves, and were arguably treated worse than before, as their souls were tortured instead of their bodies.
The once great Titians, beings capable of challenging the dragons, had fallen so far as to have their ancestors be used by humans as slaves. Not to mention, only one Titian remains alive, unable to help its kin.
"Drip" a red colored liquid fell from the ceiling into a red puddle of the same liquid. Looking back up at where it came from, you would see a colossal body that looked similar to a humans, it just had 4 arms, 2 heads, and no eyes. The body was held back by chains, and their were many signs of battle on its body, from scars to scorched skin.
The Titian had been held there for the past couple thousand years, waiting and waiting for something to change. It had been held here to "preserve the species," at least that was what the voice had said. Before it had been locked up here, the Titian had a family, friends, and even a lover, but that was all taken away from him when they were all killed by the storm drakes.
He wanted revenge, but he was stopped by a voice. He didn't know why, but after that, he woke up in this place, with his eyes removed, never to see the sun again, never to see the world again, never to see his loved ones again.
Still, he hoped that his ancestors, the giants, were living a good and for filling life, free from the pain and guilt, something he will never have.
