The proceeding battle against the lesser demons was much easier compared to the ice demon general, as both Elden and Megan had large sweeping attacks that could kill multiple enemies at once. Elden couldn't be hurt or run out of energy as it was a statue, and Megan seemed to regain most of her strength whenever she slashed an enemy, causing blood to spout out of the enemy's body thanks to her swords design.
Not even the ranged demons or siege weapons could stop them. So, when the dust settled, all the demons were on the ground, dead, and both Elden and Megan stood high above their corpses in victory. Though demons were much stronger than normal humans, they still couldn't defeat the stone statue or the knight.
After the battle ended Megan had to rest for the night, as even though she regained her physical energy whenever she cut an enemy with her blade, her mental energy never gets restored, which was her greatest weakness.
Elden and Megan had been fighting through the entire night. So, now Elden watches as the sun rises, it didn't know what to do, so it traveled up the hill to think its next actions through. There was now no one in the city anymore, they all ran off when the fighting started. So, the only thing Elden could think of was explore the now deserted city for supplies, be it money or hopefully a map of the entire human owned part of the world.
Getting up from its sitting position, the ground shook around the statue, scaring away all the little critters around the area. When Elden got down to the city, it started its search for anything important. The statue had found many pieces of currency, and luckily, they were made of precious metals like gold and silver, which meant that even if the money were worthless anywhere else, it could still be smelted into the material it was made of, so the statue could sell that instead.
Walking around, the statue finally found a map of all the kingdoms of mankind, most were already crossed off, but there was a path drawn by someone, this path leads all the way to a kingdom named Uhsa, this kingdom held the most land and looked the most prosperous, and plus the path leading there had many notes, telling where demon camps were located, where giant wild monsters lived, and even if the villages or kingdoms on the way there were destroyed or captured, the only problem was that it was on the other side of the map.
That was just a minor problem though, as it was probably going there alone. "So, have you found the next place we are going yet?" Asked a young female voice from behind Elden.
When it turned around, Elden found Megan looking at it, the statue was about to write down a question for her, but before it could finish, Megan answered the question before even knowing what it was. "You probably are wondering why I want to travel with you, am I right?" At these words Elden nodded its head. "Well, the reason is because it would be easier to travel with a giant stone statue protecting you, now wouldn't it." Stated Megan.
In only a few short hours, both Elden and Megan had looted the entire city, ending with the large black smith shop, where they had found a mystical looking table. "Oh look, it's a rune table, with one of these you could strip off an enchantment from one item to another, seeing as you have two enchanted weapons, you should dis-enchant one." Stated Megan.
Elden agreed with Megan and placed its newly acquired ice hammer down on the rune table, it had a more defensive enchantment compared to the fire halberd and Elden didn't really need more defensive power. Megan handed it a white knife and told Elden to carve an ice symbol to separate the enchantment.
When Elden did this, the enchantment was supposed to float in the air and wait to be applied onto a new piece of equipment, but instead, it suddenly rushed towards Elden and combined with it. Megan had guessed that it happened because Elden wasn't a being made of flesh, and probably counted as an enchantable item.
After the dis-enchantment, Elden threw away the now normal hammer and walked outside to test out its newfound power. When Elden tried to access its ice powers the surroundings froze, and the air suddenly became very cold. The blue markings on Elden's body became lighter until it became baby blue.
Whenever Elden moved its body, a frosty aura followed closely behind. Elden thought hard about frozen spikes appearing out of the ground, and when it stomped its foot on the floor, thousands of ice spikes grew out of the ground, moving towards the area Elden was facing. Elden also tried sending ice spikes flying with just the enchantment, but it didn't work, still that was ok as it could just throw them at its enemies.
After all that experimenting, Elden had to stop, as it had to regain magic energy, there are usually cheap magic potions normal mages would use to regain magic, but Elden couldn't use them, as it was a statue. After an hour of waiting, Elden was finally done regaining its magic, so both Elden and Megan started on their way towards Uhsa, to find out if there was any hope left for humanity.
The journey was mostly peaceful, nothing really disturbed Elden, Megan, or her demonic looking horse named Aggro, and when Elden means demonic, he really means it, Aggro had a mouth full of sharp pointed teeth, hair as dark as the abyss, and eyes as red as blood. Elden didn't know how Megan tamed such a creature, but it didn't matter, as Elden was ok with it.
The group consisting of Elden, Megan, and Aggro eventually did run into a scout of demons. Both Elden and Megan were ready to attack the group of demons, but before they did, Aggro runed straight into the demons, devouring their flesh and causing blood and organs to fly everywhere. Now Elden retracked its statement from before, it absolutely does not want that horse to travel with it.
