Phiona bristled "Dad. She's sick. Are you really going to talk that way about someone lying here unconscious?!"
"Unconscious or not, if she's a bad influence, then she's a bad influence and you shouldn't be hanging around her."
Alester couldn't believe his ears. Was her father really saying that NOW? He stood there in shock. He'd never heard Phiona talk back to her dad, at least not around him. She normally just did whatever he said without question. She had changed. Was that Samantha's doing?
