It is true that I still work on my weapons creation. It is also true that I am very proficient in the incantation I learn.
But, I thought. If I was to engage in a combat, how will I fare?
With such sort of question, mother suggests a very good method while we are having our two person tea party.
There, before me is a cage that have the low level monster.
It was a razor rat so was written in the monster Encyclopaedia. It resembles a rat but like an evolved version with razor sharp long nails. It was more nimble and swift and will mostly attack the brain part as it love eating brain.
What a disgusting rat.
But however disgusting it was, I am nervous. This is my first combat experience. Guards are stationed around me to interfere if things will go ugly so I will not say I am afraid.
I am just nervous as a first timer…
When the cage opened and the razor rat charged at me with high speed, I froze up.
By pure instinct of survival, I channel a barrier at the last moment. My subconscious screams to create a barrier and my body react immediately. I have work hard to have a control over my subconscious but with how complex human inner world is, so far, I have made no progression aside from this fast reaction as soon as my thought conjure up an act.
Kind of like there is no lack in minute late reaction, my subconscious knows that I have to create a barrier to protect myself and my body immediately did the deed. No delay in reaction.
After that, I ever know how to channel a barrier but I have no idea on how to fight back, to response aside from barrier creation. I have never been in such an intensive (at least to me) combative state. I don't know how to fight back.
The knights that are here to protect me interfere most often than not, catching back the razor rat.
By the way, they will not be able to help me learn fighting as they either use sword or other weapon. I am a sorcerer. I use magic to fight not my body strength to fight.
Those Parkour, those high kick, those technique filled sword striking, that is not how I want to fight. I want to crush my opponent with great mastery of sorcery.
Ether should be the one that defeat them not a stunning body fighting technique.
I have a lot of knowledge about attack type sigils and runes but because I never utilise them, I am very bad at making use of it.
Soon, I put fighting low level monster on hold.
My marksmanship, the perception of danger around me…
I have a lot to learn.
Sigh…
Those main character can immediately engage in combat with monster, why can't I?
QAQ
I have to start from the very-very basic; targeting an inanimate object.
Curse those amazing creature!
***
Days pass with me first targetting inanimate object than it shift to the lowest of lowest moving animate object… gradually, it upgrade to the low level.
After many days…
Have I ever said this before?
That I am smart?
If I did, I'll still say it again.
I am smart.
So, after engaging a lot in practical combat learning, I have an epiphany.
As you know, sorcerer have an innate ability to feel ether right? That ether is present in all things right?
I will make use of that; the omnipresence ether.
With my strong perception to feel the flow of ether, I will be able to feel whatever is felt by the ether. For now, my perception of ether around my surrounding span up to 50 m, I will slowly enlarge it though…
The arrow that was shot towards me behind my back, the flow of ether feel the presence so, even without looking back, I cast a sigils, halting the flying arrow in mid air.
Crack-
The arrow was broken by an invisible force.
Either by forming hand seal, sigils or runes written in paper, verbal incantation some that was long and arduous are cast by sorcerer.
That is, for almost all sorcerer.
I am an exception.
I make use of my knowledge alter ego, the incantation, the sigils, the seal I need are already clearly formed in my mind. As if it was hovering right in front of me. As soon as I have a clear picture of it, ether will form immediately to what I need of.
Those long incantations, my consciousness have already chants them.
Do you know how terrifyingly quick your thought process is?
When a person talk to you about something and you didn't hear it clearly, you thought 'Oh crap! I didn't hear what he say, how should I reply? Will I say yes or no? Shakes my head? Laugh? Nod my head? Nah, lets' just laugh nod and say yea to be save'
And then you do just that. But look how much you conjure up a whole sentence in just a fracture of second?!
There is no rift in the time span between the person that talk to you and the time it took for you to reply.
Everything happened in a matter of second.
Thought, consciousness, they are terrifying.
That is why I want to have control of such terrifying ability.
I have always been a curious person, a lot of this profound 'why' are what interest me to no end.
Coming back to the current situation, from time to time, I will have a bit of difficulty in synching with my consciousness but with persistent effort of daily practice, I became more used to making use of conscious incantation.
Also, I want to make things clear on space law.
I did use space law when I teleport the first time and gloriously fainted. Thankfully, I didn't lose consciousness long at that time so Mina and Lina didn't know what happen to make a fuss.
Anywho, just because I use space law doesn't mean I know how to use space however I want. Dude, space is an extensive term with extensive usage and I have to do my own intensive studying to understand and use at will.
Right now, my understanding only limit to teleportation and some small stuff.
I continue my study on space although there are so less book about space. The explanation is as good as not explaining anything.
I will have to literally have to come up with my own understanding and interpretation of space to further improve myself in space law.
But…
In another note, I became the youngest sorcerer to master law! Muahahahaha…
*eheum*
I haven't told my mother.
I have a reason for that.
One owns strength, its' better to keep them under wrap and caught the enemy by surprise. Hiding strength, that is, until the war is over. Oh, I'm going to be a tiger pretending to be a pig.
I didn't tell mother not that I don't trust her but that I don't want to trouble mother or the people of this manor. Mother will surely work her way out in maintaining this as a secret for my own safety.
Which I have clearly known the other time when I show her the gun, also, walls have ear.
The secret is the safest when it is with us our-self.
Even with the maids and guards following me when I inscribe the sigils, even a sorcerer won't be able to understand it as it was my modified version. There are so less people who understand space sigils in the first place.
