Time flew by, the cast attached to Jasmine's leg had been removed. Now she can walk with ease and feel no pain anymore.
The father and mother had returned home, and they began to plan what had been planned since a few weeks ago—namely Jasmine's wedding plans.
While Jasmine does not know the man who will marry her, everything is still a mystery to her. The father and mother did not say who the man was. However, they both thought that this man was the best for Jasmine.
"Honey, can you come in?" asked the mother as she knocked on the bedroom door.
Jasmine opened the door and invited her mother to come in. She closed the door to her room and walked over to her mother, already sitting on the bed.
"Sit down," The mother ordered, patting the bed next to her.
Jasmine sat beside her mother, and she waited in silence. She was waiting for what her mother will say to her. Her thoughts drifted. Jasmine thought about whether the mother would talk about her marriage? Will the mother tell the name of the man she will marry?
"Honey, I hope you don't cause trouble tonight. Accept all your father's decisions," The mother said to start the conversation.
"What's up with tonight?" Jasmine inquired.
"Tonight there will be dinner," replied the mother.
"Mom, are…,"
"Don't embarrass your father," The mother interrupted before Jasmine could continue.
Jasmine sighed. She was already speechless. Now she is resigned to what has been decided by her father and mother.
"Get ready, tonight is the night of determination for you," The mother said as she got up and walked to the closet.
Mother took a dress that she had just bought and had already stored in Jasmine's closet. She took out the dress and gave it to her daughter, still sitting on the bed.
"Wear this dress for dinner," The mother said in a commanding tone.
Jasmine accepted the dress her mother gave her and nodded. The mother left the room, giving her daughter time to get ready because she would too.
After her mother left, Jasmine threw herself on the bed. She stared at the ceiling of her room, wondering what kind of man her parents would choose.
"Is this all my destiny? Marry someone I don't love?" Jasmine muttered as she closed her eyes.
In a few seconds, she opened her eyes, then got up and started getting ready for dinner. Jasmine made up her mind that she would accept all her father and mother's decisions.
Jasmine was ready, and dinner was about to start. She stood on the balcony, looking at the garden, which seemed so beautiful, and she thought of Caesar again. She shook her head to erase everything he remembered about the man.
She went back into the room, and her steps stopped for a moment because she heard the sound of someone knocking on her door. Jasmine walked closer to the door and opened the door to her room.
"Miss, you are already waiting in the living room," The maid said to Jasmine.
Jasmine nodded her head then said, "You can go."
The maid left, Jasmine came back in to see if everything was still in order. She walked out and closed the door. She thought again about the man she would marry and started assuming about age, is he a workaholic? Or the man who is constantly under his mother's armpit?
She descended the stairs and headed straight for the living room, and Jasmine heard the voice of someone she knew. "Is that him?"
Her footsteps slowed as she listened intently to the voice talking to her father and mother. The closer the voice became more apparent, she saw who it was.
"Honey, come here," said the mother who saw Jasmine.
Jasmine approached and sat right next to her mother. She also looked at Diana, sitting next to Dean with his trademark mischievous smile.
"Okay. We'd better have dinner first before deciding everything," suggested the father to everyone.
Everyone agreed with the father's said, and they walked towards the dining room. All the food menus are available and neatly arranged on the table, and they begin to eat the dishes on the table.
After dinner was over, they sat back in the living room, talking about the exact date of the wedding between Jasmine and Dean. Both parents look so happy with this wedding plan.
Both Jasmine and Dean's parents have already set their wedding date. The father said that the wedding preparations had started so that Dean and Jasmine did not have to bother to take care of everything. Except for something that concerns both of them.
"Jasmine, we're going to the park," Diana said to Jasmine.
"Go y'all and you Dean, come with them!" The mother ordered Dean.
"No, ma'am. I'm just here," replied Dean, who did not want to listen to the two women's boring conversation.
"Yes. You just sit with Mom and Dad, I'll go along with Jasmine," said Diana.
Jasmine walked first, and Diana quickened her pace to catch up with her. They sat in the pavilion. Jasmine was silent and looked at the moon in the sky without any stars accompanying her.
"Why not tell me?" Jasmine asked Diana.
"I wanted to surprise you even though I gave you some signs. However, you don't realize it," replied Diana.
"Your surprise is not pleasant," said Jasmine as she gazed at the garden lit up by the lamplight.
Diana chuckled, then sat right next to Jasmine, and then she started to say that this was all a good thing. She asked if Dean was a good man so he could protect Jasmine.
Jasmine just silently listened to all the explanations of her best friend. She still can't believe that Dean will be her husband. Even though she always prayed to keep her from that man. Is this a punishment for Jasmine for having disappointed her father and mother?
"You know? Why would I prefer you to marry my brother?" Diana asked Jasmine.
