Although Lucien was struggling to speak due to the pain, he could still register the words spoken around him. After he heard that Blair did put some garlic on the food, he felt more affected by the emotional pang inside his heart than the burning pain that the garlic caused him. He came to realize that maybe all his second thoughts were true, that Blair still hadn't trusted him.
He was supposed to know it. He was supposed to feel it. A wolf and a vampire could never be together in a team. Dinner between a witch, a werewolf, and a vampire would never carry through without one or more of them dying.
As he could see with the present situation, it seemed that he was lucky enough to be picked and terminated in that dinner party.
He didn't want to think about it, but he wondered if the two of them had been planning it long since. Then, they were allying with each other to kill him or let him suffer first before sending him off.
