"Okay, now that you're here, I'll guess, I'll just leave the two of you. I'll make some herbal tea for Blair." Maev was about to go out when she remembered. "Uhmm... Lucien…"
Both of them looked at Maev.
"Take care of Blair, please, and don't let anyone hurt her again," she continued.
Lucien simply smiled and said, "I know what you mean, Maev, but don't worry. She will be safe."
The room went suddenly silent as soon as Maev went out. Until Lucien broke the silence.
"So… Uh…” He rubbed the back of his neck, smiling sheepishly, not knowing where to start. “It was pretty scary last night, right? I wasn't expecting that you are going to do that." Lucien took a deep breath as if letting out the intensity of what he felt.
"That's nothing special. You probably would do it for me too," Blair said while she was focused on studying how Lucien would respond.
He couldn't deny it, but what Blair said had affected him a bit.
