Chapter 8 - THE WITCH

With Blair in his hands, Lucien landed on an open grassy field, or more like a cornfield. The plant was even taller than him, and they were covered up with it as they landed. Lucien, however, did that on purpose. He didn't want to be detected by anyone that might have alarmed the witch.

Blair was still unconscious when he laid her under the tree. It was just a few meters away from the small cottage owned by the witch. It was the only abode standing near that field. So, he assumed that it was safe to put Blair under the tree while talking to the witch first.

Lucien strode towards the front door and was about to knock. However, he changed his mind and decided to peer inside instead. He had to make sure if the witch was alone or if she had someone with her.

He never knew how their conversation would end up. So, it would be better to stay on the safe side.
