Chris and Aden are both Espers like Jack. Like I said there is a surprisingly large Esper community in this seaside town. For the first time in his life, Jack has made friends who aren't different from him. Friends who don't think he's weird. Real friends.
Neither of them agrees with Jesse, his group of friends, or his family's views on what Jack's parents do. Over the next few weeks, Jack started hanging around Chris and Aden more and more until they all become inseparable. In a few months, the whole school knew that if they saw one the others wouldn't be far behind. They've been really good friends to Jack and slowly he found himself liking his new home just a little bit. He even found that he actually doesn't really mind being here after all.
