"I will just eat dinner here," Emily told the driver as she saw the sign of a five-star restaurant ahead. It was already late at night, and knowing Jude, he would definitely question her recent actions, but she needed to clean up the company.
Knowing Jude, she understood that he treated the company as a tool to get close to ABM. The success of the business did not matter to him; after all, as the only living defendant of the William family did not lack a bit of money.
Stem was a trap; Jude wanted them to appear weak so that they could gain the upper hand once the enemy underestimated them, but Emily was unwilling to be too soft. She will not show her true strength, but that does not mean she will allow even lowly managers to walk over her.
She knew Jude would disapprove but so what? Only when she showed to be a worthy opponent will ABM pay attention to her. Emily did not want to deal with the managers from ABM. She wanted to face the CEO or Chairman head-on. Jude might think she was hot-headed, but the truth remains that she needs to understand her opponent. Only then will she have a better chance of winning.
She knew that ABM would come for them soon; her trusted personnel needed to be in the right position. If she was going to fight ABM, then her best shot was to be able to predict their game.
"We are here," the driver announced. He could not understand why Emily decided to eat out; after all, they should be in the house in half an hour, and Emily had not eaten out since her arrival.
"Let go," Emily said as she got out of the car. The driver was surprised that she had invited him in. Usually, his formal boss will send a waiter to bring take-out to him in the car.
"Ma," The driver was confused and gave Emily a questioning look.
"It's already so late; eating any later will not be so healthy," Emily replied as she walked towards the entrance. The driver happily parked the car and followed Emily.
"Sit," Emily said, seeing that the driver just stood opposite her with no plans of sitting down.
"I would rather sit at another table, ma," the driver said. He felt that he would be too conscious of himself if he shared a table with her.
"Do as you please," Emily could see the look on the man's face. If she insists that he share a table with her, he might be uncomfortable and not enjoy his meal. Then she would have punished him instead of feeding him as she wanted.
A waiter held out a menu seeing that Emily was ready to order. Emily picked the meals she wanted and then asked the waiter to get her driver whatever he wanted. The tables in this restaurant were not close to each other as they tried to give every customer a sense of privacy.
While Emily waited for the food to be served, she checked her Email to pass the time. Not far away, Eric was also having dinner with Olivia, who had a bright smile on her lips.
No matter how much she tried to hide her happiness, it was impossible, especially since Eric was paying so much attention to her.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" Eric asked. Since he had decided to make her his kept woman, he chose to speak in clear teams. For a man with his status, it was indeed more convice to keep one woman at a time.
If he gets tired of her, he could end the relationship and move to the next. Olivia's smile went brighter. She did not expect her Boss to ask this question.
Previously when they shared a night, Eric had made it clear that about from s*x, there could be nothing else between them. So it made her delighted that he cared to ask about her relationship. This could only mean that he had become interested in her, right?
"I have not been in a relationship for some time, boss," Olivia replied. She knew that her boss did not mix his work with pleasure, so even if she had some ideas in her head, she did not dare act on them.
"It's outside work time; you do not have to be so formal," Eric said with his usual smile. Hearing these words from Eric, Olivia felt that someone had pulled the moon from the sky and had it to her.
She was dancing and rejoicing in her heart, but she tried to remain calm. One should never count his chicks before they hash. "How else will I address you? I am really afaird of annoying you," Olivia said.
Seeing that she acted so obedient, Eric was satisfied. "Since you are not in any relationship, I wanted you to become my kept woman," Eric said those words in a calm tone.
"Sir," Olivia was caught off guard; even if she thought he liked her, she did not expect her to say those words the way he did.
"Be my kept woman. Although we can be considered dating, I have to be the only man you see during the time we are together. Of course, I will take care of your needs and wants at this time, but you must remember this is just a pact between us, and it comes to an end when I say so. Also, it would be best if you separated whatever is going between us from work. I hate to mix work with pleasure," Eric said each of the words carefully, not wanting Olivia to misunderstand.
"I..., it..." She did not know what to say; after all, she almost thought he was about to ask her to be his girlfriend. 'This is why you should not count the chicks before it hash,' Olivia reminded herself.
"You don't have to feel pressured because I am your boss. If you dont want the relationship, it's fine. You can also quit whenever you want if you accept it now. I will not hold you back," Eric said, seeing that Olivia was finding it had to answer.
