Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Pressure

"Being kind, it doesn't suits him well either" I said before he left

"You should mine your manner darling" an old woman in front of me said

She had a dignified posture while she gracefully ate her food. I scoffed in disbelief as I rolled my eyes

"I did not intend to be disrespectful" I simply couldn't handle him

"Are you sure darling? You have quite a temper. I heard a rumor that you directly insulted Mr. Ellis while making a deal" she said while glaring at me

"As if you knew the complete story, mother"

"Knowing it or not you are the representative of our company your every move will be judged by every single person in the room" she chastised me snarling like a wolf

I rolled my eyes being the center of attention sounds burdensome. Being controlled by the people giving them high expectations just for them rant out from pure jealousy

"It does not matter as long as I did my jo-" I was then interrupted by the harsh tone of my mother

"It matters! You are the only legitimate daughter of your father your public figure is our outmost priority. You acting rash is undeniably humiliation in our name" she said then proceed taking her step towards me

She held both of my shoulders and forcefully made my back straight

"Your undignified behavior is an eyesore so refrain from being an insolent brat to others" she said behind my air

"But I was being ho-"

"Shut your mouth this instant if you don't want me to be reprimanded by the same topic over and over again"

"Because you never listen to every word I say" I yelled in frustration

"What more could you possibly say?" she said

There was a long pause the tension grew stronger than ever. I bit my lip, my mother's gaze was piercing through my pride every time

"I think I have proven my point... always" she said then gently wiped her face with a napkin and left the room

My mother isn't the kind and loving woman I see on the movies. That would sacrifice their life for the sake of their own child. Their bonds are always amazing and genuine

I always envy the main characters who has loving people surrounding her. Guiding her every step she take

I think my origin story would be great for a villainess. I was never the kind hearted heroine those types of people make me hurl in disgust

So that is why I stopped watching movies everything is unrealistic. People shouldn't waste their time on fictional things. There is no such thing as a happy ending

Everyone dies in some point of time

I woke up from reality a long time ago that my parents would never love me for who I am. I never had expectations to be loved by them

But despite them giving me harsh treatment I still wanted to prove them that I'm worthy. Even with all of my efforts they have never appreciated me from the start

One day I will bring them down and prove them wrong. That every of my hardwork would be payed just by my strength alone

Like they say the best revenge is massive success

My chauffeur is driving my car to my office. I blankly stared at my window pane in the back seat. Watching the cars pass through the streets

We then arrived at a established building. It was humongous but compared to other wealthy businesses it is considered as middle class

But I'm sure that this building would grow bigger because I'm the one managing this

Our company has many investors. My father is the CEO and I'm the president in charge

Well in business CEO is the highest rank. Their job is to make a promise while the president is the one who keeps the promise

I mostly do the work and my father gets the attention

I had a business course I graduated as top of the class and got my degree in early age. I became a very influential person in the business industry but it wasn't still enough.

The chauffeur opened the door for me. The light of the sun shone through me blinding my eyes so I took my sunglasses before stepping my foot down on the sidewalk

"She looks so amazing I wish I could be like her"

"You can never be like her she is one of a kind Alex Herman the iron lady of Lunox Inc."

"Her aura shouts power"

I could hear the murmuring around the surrounding. I rolled my eyes beneath my shades. All they say is a repetition of compliments

Can't they be more original. They speak as if they are parrots imitating their owner

I went to my office and seeing a stack of files. I then sat on my chair and took my pen and started analyzing the information

It took me a few hours

I saw my secretary Jia delivering my tea. She carefully placed it on my table

"What is my schedule" I asked while reading my files. I didn't bother looking at her since I was focused on the documents

"You have a lunch meeting with one of your stockholders" she stated politely

"Is that all?" I asked her while flipping through the pages

"Yes" she said in a proud and confident tone

"I'm loving your attitude so please go back" I commented, she respectfully bowed her head

"Thank you for the compliment. It is an honor to assist you with your duties" she said, I could sense a smile form on her face

"Now go away your disturbing me"

She then left the room I then took my coat for my scheduled lunch meeting

Well this will be annoying

I safely arrived at my house. I immediately lay down on my bed. I decided to rest my eyes. A sigh escape from my lips.

My energy drained from interacting with useless human beings, suddenly a knock was heard outside the door

I groaned and force myself to stand up. I opened the door revealing a maid shivering in fear

"What is it?"

She is contemplating whether she should talk or not. I was getting irritated but I didn't mean to snarl at her

"Speak, stop wasting my time" she flinch from my tone then words left her mouth. My mood worse than before

"Your father wanted to see you"
