Alex hated the idea of being rejected so hearing it rattled the darkness inside of him. He looked up in time to see the worried expression that Astrid had and it was all it took for him to get hold of himself.
"I will take responsibility for everything." Alex accepted and his eyes returned to normal. Alex trusted in the fact that Astrid wouldn't just reject him and Astrid trusted in the fact that Alex wouldn't harm them.
"You better do." Astrid muttered and her cheeks loosened for a moment before she returned to her stoic expression. Alex saw her smile nonetheless, and it was all he needed to know that all is well.
"You are still grounded." Roseline said as the grown-ups didn't know what just happened between the both of them.
"My dear, I don't know what happened but I don't think Alex is someone that would take advantage of you." Mrs. Humphrey whispered to her daughter believing that Alex wouldn't hear her, but he did.
"Actually, he didn't."
