[New skill unlocked: Sacrifice Strength.]
[Sacrifice Strength: Break a bone/s of your choosing to increase the strength of the rest of your body by +2 for each bone broken. Damage caused by this skill will not be counted towards EXP gains. Increase lasts for 1 hour.]
[Current strength: 11]
[To view stats and allocate stat points say "Status".]
'Well this could come in handy...' Mark thought to himself as he was reading the skill description. 'If I break all of my finger bones of left hand, then that gives me 14 broken bones leading to an increase of 28. If my strength stat is already at 11 then I would be at 39 strength.'
With all of his injuries healed, Mark felt no pain, and without hesitation activated the skill by saying its name.
"Sacrifice Strength!" Mark, yelled at the top of his lungs.
[Left hand phalanges bones chosen as sacrifice.]
[Breaking these bones will result in an increase of: +28 strength]
[Damage done by this skill will not grant any EXP.]
[Do you wish to proceed?]
[Yes/No]
"Yes!" Mark confirmed.
The second he answered his left hand started changing shape in unnatural ways that shouldn't be normally possible. He fell to his knees crying from the immense pain that he was in. The pain was indescribable, not even letting him scream in pain. He felt as if his bones were being grounded to dust.
Trying to overcome the pain, Mark looked up only to see the rat moving again taking advantage of the pain he was in.
"HELL NO! I DID NOT JUST GO THROUGH THAT TO BE KILLED AND EATEN BY A FAMILY OF RATS!" With a final push, he stood on his feet, his legs shaking, and his right hand scrunched into a ball.
The rat saw this and began to prepare a lunge, aiming for the neck of the pile of meat in front of it. With its powerful legs, it set off and opened its mouth as wide as it could...
Only to be punched in the snout yet again by the human in front of it. This time was different though. The rat felt like it was jumping into a piece of steel, instead of human flesh. Its skull broke, destroying the brain of the rat killing it instantly.
[Congratulations! First enemy defeated.]
[Rewards shall be distributed when Marked exits combat.]
Mark saw none of what the text said as he headed straight for the dumpster that the rats were hiding under. He pulled back his fist and launched it at the side of the dumpster, leaving a dent in it and tipping the dumpster on its side.
The rats underneath, not understanding what happened, stood still shocked, leaving them open to be killed by the human rat killer.
Mark stepped and crushed one of them into paste and punched one into the ground, before the other 3 ran away from him.
'Yeah, that's right, you better run. Damn rats...' Mark thought before collapsing on the ground.
================================================================
Mark woke up in the same place he collapsed, still in immense pain with a broken hand. He looked around, searching for any signs of the rats that made him like this, only to find an abandoned alley with a dumpster on its side.
[Congratulations! You have successfully survived your first combat!]
[Rewards will now be distributed.]
'Rewards? All I want is to get rid of this pain and heal my hand.' He thought to himself clutching his wrist close to his chest.
[Please choose a reward...]
[Full recovery]
[New skill]
[+5 stat points]
'So, there is a way to heal myself. But who knows what I could get with a new skill.' Mark thought as he considered the options in front of him. 'I don't know what I can get with stat points, but I know I have one already. If I remember to allocate them I needed to say "Status".'
"Status." As he spoke the word, a screen came into view.
{Name: Mark Spain}
{Race: Human}
{Level: 2}
{Total EXP: 0/200}
{Strength: 11}
{Agility: 11}
{Intelligence: 11}
{Recovery: 2}
{Skills:}
{Sacrifice Strength}
'So, these are my stats. I can't compare them to anyone, so I don't know if they're good or not.' Mark thought to himself, resting against the wall of the Alley. 'But I do have a recovery stat, so that is helpful. But I don't know what that good that will do me, or if it can even heal this broken hand.'
[Recovery stat]
[The recovery stat dictates how long it will take for your wounds inflicted upon yourself to heal.]
[At recovery 1 it will take 14 days all wounds to be fully healed.]
[An increase of 1 stat point decrease the amount of time to 13 days and 18 hours.]
'So 1 stat point decreased the recovery time to less than 2 weeks. That won't do me much good.' Mark looked over the information of the recovery stat prepared to make a choice of the rewards.
"I'll take a new skill." Mark finally decided.
[New skill chosen as reward.]
[Please select new skill...]
[Sacrifice Agility]
[Painful Recovery]
Mark looked at the names of these skills thinking that he made the right choice. To make the most beneficial choice to him currently though he needed to understand what all of these skills did.
[Sacrifice Agility: Destroys organ/s in your body to the point where they barely works to increase Agility stats. Damage caused by this skill will not be counted towards EXP gains. Increase Agility by: +2 for every organ damaged.]
[Painful Recovery: Heals the user at an incredible speed but also causes an indescribable amount of pain in the process.]
After reading the description of the skills he knew immediately what skill to take. Without any hesitation he chose to take the Painful Recovery skill.
"Painful Recovery!"
After saying those words his left hand felt as if it was breaking all over again. The bones reassembling themselves while he was screaming in pain and agony. The pain from his left arm suddenly spread throughout his body reaching his head. No longer able to maintain consciousness he collapsed and passed out in the alley once more...
