My best family brought out a tart for my birthday. "Yay!" I raised my hand in the air. My voice with a melodious octave cheering for the happiness given by my family. A birthday party that is only celebrated by my little family, because at 19, I still don't have my wolf.
All the werewolves in my pack are always wondering, am I am disabled?
At 17, the werewolf has united with their wolf, and in my pack, without a wolf, it means that I will not meet my mate, and without my mate, I am just a crippled she-wolf.
All my worries disappeared because I always have a happy, harmonious, and supportive family. Mom, Dad, and little sister Hana. Perfect!
I fell asleep soundly when night came, without me knowing it was a red moon night—something like touching me with a cold soft caress. Like in every finger of his hand, tucked a lump of rough ice from the north pole.
"Hah!" I woke up from my sleep; the dream was too dark for me to handle
Suddenly I heard a howling sound from outside; I got goosebumps as a separate shield formed from my body. I swept around my room. Somehow, I felt stuffy for the first time in my life.
"Arghhh!" my mother screams.
"Mom?" I was shocked that I was in a rush to get out of bed, my hands shaking against the doorknob of my room. I couldn't open my bedroom door; something heavy was blocking my exit from outside.
"Mom? I'm locked out! Mom, open my bedroom door!" I screamed until my throat was burning.
"Ava don't! Ava stays in there!" My mother said, even the tone of her voice was at the end of her throat, I could hear her shortness of breath
"Mom? What is going on? Open this door! Hanna? Dad?" I called my other family. While the noise outside is getting crazier
I turned to the window of my room; even my window was locked tightly as if my Dad intentionally gave it a nail from the outside "Arghh damn!" The corner of my eye glanced at the Alpha in my pack fighting in the dark. His body was already shedding fur as defense.
"Oh shit!" I turned to the door of my room, trying with all my might to open the door
"Mom! Dad? Hanna! Open this damn door!" I screamed as loud as I could.
"No, honey! Hang in there!" my mom screams again.
"No, Mom! Open this door, please!" I beg. I couldn't stop my tears anymore. Anxiety spreads through my body; the red moon is already hanging perfectly in the sky. No one could see the moon's hue but werewolves.
"Argh! Hannah, watch out!" My Dad screamed.
My eyes widened in panic; my little sister's howl sounded full of painful screams. My chest heaved, the bond between us felt until I knew my sister was hurt.
"No, no, no! Mom please! Open this door! Let me help you guys! Please!" I scream
The sound of gasping breaths approached. "Honey! It's okay! We will protect you! Don't worry, we're with you!" my mother spoke behind the door. I feel very frustrated. I only heard their screams until suddenly my mother screamed louder and louder with cries that accompanied her screams.
"Mom? What is it? Mom? What happened?" I pushed the door harder. My mother's voice is no longer heard; their voices are gone. I took a chair and pushed harder for my bedroom door to open.

Twenty minutes of effort with cold sweat all over my body paid off until I could open my bedroom door. The tears running down my cheeks made my eyes puffy. The tip of my nose was flushed red, and my blond hair was a mess.
"Oh moon goddess?" I was astonished by the messy situation of my house. All the furniture that was always neatly arranged by my mother was shattered and scattered.
"Mom? Hannah? Dad?" I called them one by one while walking through my house. One by one, I checked the room carefully. I can't smell their scent strongly because I don't have a wolf to help me yet.
"Mom?" I screamed louder in frustration.
My whole body was shaking; it felt like I couldn't stand on my feet. I went into the vestibule and strutted in front of the house's main door. I made sure my family was not in the place.
My fingers trembled to touch the doorknob; I couldn't help myself until I burst into sobs. My chest felt like a sunburn, and my throat felt dry, like the heat of walking in a barren desert.
"Oh, Moon Goddess, I swear I will not forgive myself if anything happens to my family," I said and ventured to open the main door of my house.
Lonely! There was only silence in the gripping night. Several houses around my house seemed to be dead, even though their lights were still on. I strolled down the terrace of my house; at the end of the road, I could still see some people fighting.
"Mom? Dad?" I shouted. I don't know what will come to me if my voice is so presumptuous to fill the void that grips the air.
I squeezed my fingers together and was surprised to hear howls from different directions. "Dad?" said my dry lips. The pounding in my chest is getting tighter as if an invisible wall is pressing against my body.
"Hannah? Please answer me if you hear me!" I'm still screaming and don't dare to step away from where I'm standing
Until suddenly, something seemed to run towards me. Strong wind hit my face, and something hit my shoulder behind; I felt dizzy so intense that everything went black.
"Am I just going to die?" I asked the moon that was dimly visible to my eyes before I finally closed my eyes helplessly
