„My Salan ability can speed up someone's self healing, be it Mana-Wielder or not. Stay here if you want to." Liz said.
‚A healing ability?' I questioned, but didn't speak anymore so Liz could start the process.
Candles and gaslights illuminated the room with a fiery redness. Niam was laying on the surgery table writhing in pain.
Liz started the healing process. A flashing green light came out of her hands and Mana started to flow out of them. She had absolute control over the Mana and it went straight into Niam's chest. When the Mana entered his body, he stopped moving and calmed down, his breath becoming rhythmic again.
I could see the bruises on his chest and shoulders disappear one after another.
Liz spent minutes focusing on Niam's chest, then went on to his shoulders, arms, legs and feet.
„His hands are fractured and I can't help regrow lost limbs." Liz revealed.
I saw Liz focus so much that saliva came out of her open mouth. She even stopped blinking. She started sweating and breathing heavily. She had to force herself to stay awake.
„I have to completely heal him or his Core will take irreparable damage." She said.
I started to worry and when I tried using my Salan ability, it still wouldn't activate. The feeling that something terrible was going to happen scared me, and I didn't want to shoulder the burden of knowing the „future", and not being able to change it was truly terrifying.

2 hours had passed and I fell out of my trance-like state when Liz collapsed onto the floor.
„He's… okay now.." She said as she passed out on the floor.
I ignored her and rushed to the still unconscious Niam. His complexion looked better, but when I touched his arm, I felt coldness. ‚He must've been freezing the whole time. No wonder, he was still wet from the rain.'
I went out of the medical station to go look for a towel and a blanket. Just when I exited the room, I saw Mul-Soo.
„Where can I get a towel and a blanket?" I asked.
„Has Liz passed out?" He asked back, ignoring my question.
I nodded and when I was about to ask him for the second time, he spoke.
„Go to the entrance, there are the things you need. I'll carry Liz into her room."
I nodded and went to the shelter's entrance. I met a woman who was sitting in a room behind a glass wall.
„Mul-Soo said I could get some towels here." I said to the woman.
„For how many people?" She asked.
„One person."
„What about the guy you came in with earlier today?"
„2 people then." I said confused.
She handed me 2 straw baskets that had things like towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo in it.
„I also need a blanket." I said.
The woman looked at me and grabbed a blanket and the sheets for it.
I walked back to the medical station, Mul-Soo came and met me midway.
„I moved him into my office. There are 2 mattresses, everything else you might need is next door." He said and pointed at the door next to his office.
I walked to Mul-Soo's office in big steps. Each step I took, the sound of my footsteps grew louder and made me dizzy. Left and right, hundreds of people, sleeping in their sleeping-bags. The light was dim and I felt alone, the way to Mul-Soo's office somehow felt endless. And when my eyesight grew darker and I was about to pass out, a hand grabbed my shoulder.
It was Alejandro's wife. She still looked sad but a tinge of concern was visible on her face.
„Are you okay?" She asked.
It was difficult for me to answer, I was panting and standing with difficulty. I just pointed at the office I wanted to go and fell towards her.
The red-haired woman caught me mid fall and supported me until we arrived at the office.
She opened the door and set the baskets down. Behind the office desk, 2 mattresses were laid out and Niam was on one of them, sleeping.
By the sight of Niam, the woman started to shake in anger. She was still understandably upset about Niam being the killer of her husband, but something prevented her from pouncing at him with her claw-like hands and killing the defenseless Niam.
She left the room without saying anything.
I staggered towards Niam and barely managed to sit down on the mattress next to him without falling on him. I covered him with the blanket and used the towel to dry his hair. His body temperature was still low and it started to make me feel cold too.
I dried his night-black hair and looked closer at his sleeping face. He looked exhausted but at least his physical pain was gone.
He tried turning and moving his limbs but he was met with pain.
„Ha-Haru!" He repeated multiple times.
But at this point, I was too exhausted to help anymore.I had been awake for at least 48 hours. I laid next to Niam and fell asleep looking at his face.
Before I closed my eyes to finally sleep, my Salan ability activated and I felt pure safety and relaxation. ‚No danger and no death.' I thought and fell asleep.
*Niam Henka*
I woke up with my limbs still hurting. The room was dimly lit by gaslights and I was covered with a blanket.
I noticed that I was almost completely naked, and when I looked around for my clothes, I saw Tsuki sleeping next to me, hugging herself because she was feeling cold. She looked peaceful and relaxed, she could finally sleep after staying awake for a long time.
‚She stayed beside me.'
I tried standing up but was met with pain yet again. Not the pain that would force me to lay back down, but a pain that would affect my mood.
I stood up, put the blanket over Tsuki and went around the room to find 2 baskets with a few things in it. Just as I exited the room, I saw Mete guarding the door. He didn't expect to see me almost naked, so he stepped back. His face looked like he wanted to make a dirty joke but my straight face hindered him from even speaking.
„Where's the bathroom?" I asked.
„The door on your left. It's a private bathroom, it even has a bath in it." Mete answered as he pointed at a door.
„Bring me my clothes and continue standing guard." I ordered.
With a nod Mete disappeared.
I entered the private bathroom that was more like a sauna. The room was dimly lit just like the other rooms. In the room was a sink, a toilet, a bath and multiple buckets of water. There was also a small fireplace that would heat up the water.
I warmed up the water and poured it into the bath and on myself and got into it.
I was still alive, meaning either Geir got injured, died or spared me and the rest. I thought back to our fight. The way he and I dodged, parried and hit each other was magnificent. Our speed, reaction time and strength was superior to anyone in human history.
The longer I thought, the stronger my headache got. And although I was in a hot bath, I still felt cold.

When I exited the bath, I put on my freshly washed clothes. My black turtleneck hoodie, my black cargo pants, my black boots and my dark-grey military west.
I entered the office where me and Tsuki slept. She was still sleeping, still exhausted. I moved closer to her and put my hand on her head.
