CHAPTER 12 – IT IS STARTED
The Blue Book. At the time when I first received it, I didn't realize it was the GAIA's plan… The moment I accept the book, her plan was in action.
From the beginning, I didn't realize that I was just a means to an end.
Her sweet words and words full of consideration that she told me how strong and necessary I am and How I'm the only person who can help her.
I know I will be lying if I say I am weak or an average person. She is right I am extraordinary in this world or in any world.
That extraordinary me was needed to fix everything up for once and all.
"Alvin. You sure took your time.", Cho – Hee was eating some breakfast with others.
"Sorry, that was the first time sleeping after a long time."
I came downstairs realizing the dream I had wasn't a dream, but instead, I was in the system subspace. I decided to put on hold the matters about the blue book.
"That's right, Cho told us that you were finally able to sleep last night Alvin. How was the sleep?", Emma seems to be curious but how do I say? technically I didn't sleep.
Sighs… I can't tell her that.
"It was a good sleep. I didn't know you guys already knew about my slapping habit."
"Alvin, you should have told us that you were having problem we even try to moni--- Uh… I mean we were worried.", Sakura started to break her sentences while she speaks.
Wait, what did she say just now?
"Y-Yeah. We were all worried. Anyway, how about you eat your breakfast. It will get cold."
"Yes. Let's eat our breakfast and go outside to take on another request. Haha…"
Now even Emma and Cho – Hee is muttering and acting weird.
Honestly, what is these girls are doing behind my back?
After having our breakfast, we were on our way to the Adventurer Guild Building. I remember we still have to do five more requests so that we can promote to Rank E adventures, after that promotion will solely be based on achievements.
On our way, a thought came to my mind. If we are in a fantasy world, shouldn't there suppose to be a cliché storyline about a Hero saving the world from threats or something?
Even Gaia asked me for help but even if my level is high there is also supposed to be someone with the title of HERO.
So, there is no Hero in this world? Should have asked the Gaia.
Oh never mind, she did hand over a blue book to me, saying all answers can be found there.
Maybe I have to read it anyway whether I want it or not. I am just avoiding opening that book because I am not certain whether I should be involved with gods or just mind my own business.
I never trusted the term GOD before in my world. Should I be cautious of them or not?
"There are too many people gathered here in the guild today. Something happen?", Girls notice the huge crowd of adventures as Cho – Hee pointed it out.
I didn't even realize we are already here, was I that deep in my thoughts?
"I don't know, Let's ask what is going on. Maybe there is some sort of notice or an announcement."
"Hello everyone, thanks for gathering today without prior notice. I am guild master Hawk. Let me apologize once again for this sudden request."
A broad and tall man with a beard calls out to everyone and claims he is the guild master.
Now I totally believe we are in a fantasy cliché world.
"I am announcing a sudden and urgent request that appears today. There are moments in the southern forest of the city which have been noticed by our scouts, they believe several D - C Ranks monsters are moving in a group."
A Flood of monsters?
"Hey guild master, isn't this the task of A and S Rank adventurers. Why are you hiring us.", many adventurers are seemed full of questions that one of them actually asked it.
"No, I am telling you this because we are actually on edge.", Welp that random guy makes the guild master angry.
"Ahem... Several High - Ranking adventurers are out of the city for other requests and the ones who are here are no condition to fight."
Suddenly Cho – Hee poked me and asks, "Alvin, should we come back tomorrow? Do we really have to accept this troublesome request?"
I saw her face full of cringe as she wants to avoid a troublesome situation.
Does she really don't want to accept it? I guess she wants to work at her own pace.
"But shouldn't we help everyone? We are also living in the capital after all.", Sakura speaks up after hearing to Cho – Hee.
's response of Sakura was a bit unexpected but reasonable. So, someone wants to fight where someone doesn't want to?
Looking at another side, Emma isn't saying anything just observing us.
So, she doesn't want to take this request, or does she? I can't interpret her like this. But she isn't saying anything, so, she is ready with any of our final decision?
"Whether to join or not it's another part. Let's just hear the guild master, I am sure he must have something to tell his lovely adventurers."
Guild master holds the request papers up above his head such that even everyone at back can see.
"Whoever will accept the requests will be compensated according to the amount of help you provided. Anyone can accept this request despite the rank and join the raid party."
He stops for a bit and resumes again,
"We have also informed this to the imperial palace. Reinforcement will arrive soon as well along with Empire's Hero."
'EMPIRE'S HERO'. As I heard the word 'HERO', I couldn't help but grin menacingly.
"Things are finally getting interesting. We should definitely join the raid party."
"Alvin? Why are making such an evil face? Are you okay?"
"What are you saying Cho? I am completely fine…"
There is no way I will ignore a chance to meet the Hero itself. Now I can say out loud that this is the same old fantasy full of cliché.
Man, I sure do love Fantasy BS.
