CHAPTER 5 – Journey II

The entire afternoon, I and the girls were travelling. Suddenly the carriages in the front stopped. Nick came out of his carriage and asks the merchant to call it a day. Should start setting a camp for the night.

I guess it's time for everyone to set a camp for the night.

"let's search for high ground. It will be easy to fend off most of the monsters that way."

Well, it will at least help us somewhat. I guess Nick also agrees with my suggestion. Everyone started searching for the place.

Not soon after we find a place next to a river.

"Now, we also don't have to worry about water." Nick came from behind and stands next to me.

"I guess you are right, Let's start a fire." I walked away and headed towards the forest.

"Where are you going?" Nick asks me as he sees me walking into the forest.

As I looked back, I see Nick with a concerned face.

"Going to hunt some food, don't worry I won't be going deep inside the forest."

I know I shouldn't enter the woods when we decided to avoid it and take the proper route to the capital even if it's long.

But we also need food, I realized I'm an idiot to think everything is going well. I forgot basic necessities such as food and water before travelling.

Cho – Hee walks to me and says, "mind if I tag along?"

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have company. We both entered this dense forest, I guess I kind of understand now why everyone wants to avoid entering this type of forest. Even if it's daytime they will take a different route.

Everything here is dark and it feels like anything can jump onto you at any time.

"Do you know it's not just your fault?" Cho – Hee looked at me straight face.

"Travelling to the capital on the second day in an unknown world, I know we are reckless but still it's not entirely your fault." Cho – Hee sighed a bit.

"There are four of us who got summoned in this world but looks like we were only taking it easy as you are the only one thinking ahead of time."

Was she observing everyone's actions? I don't know for sure.

"I guess you are right." We keep on walking deep inside the forest.

"Looks like we found some wild animals. There is a group of wild boars in that direction."

I think it's time to finally use magic for the first time. But what are my skills?

"SYSTEM OPEN SKILL MENU"

"What? Unable to verify skills. What do you mean verify?" Cho – Hee looked at me all confused and asked "what happened? is there something wrong?"

"I am unable to see my skill list." I scratched my head a bit. Maybe it's happening due to the Level Limiter. Maybe I should just turn it off.

"SYSTEM TURN OF LEVEL LIMITER"

Now, this is getting weirder, the system is acting weird as time goes by. Now I want to know what is this system that everyone has in this world and just what is my exact level.

"Cho – Hee Maybe I should use basic spells instead of calling out my skills that I don't anything about."

"Do we even know how to use magic in the first place? Last time you accidentally used magic on bandits while pointing your BLOODTHIRST toward them."

I know I used it subconsciously but it felt so natural. I walked up near the group of boars while still maintaining some distance.

I pointed my right hand towards them.

"Fire spells would be a good idea, right?"

"What do you mean? What are you trying to do?" Cho – Hee got confused as I said that but before she react a big red fireball got shot towards that group of boars and they burnt to nothing in an instant.

I never used magic but it really comes naturally when you focus and visualize correctly. In that split second as I visualize the spell and focus on my right hand.

It feels like, Mana started to move inside my body rapidly and Fire Spell materializes in my hand.

"What was that?", Cho - Hee asked.

I guess my magic output is way too high due to me being a level 100 right now. I need to learn how to control my magic or I will be creating a big mess.

"Your magic level is simply terrifying, you just burn them to nothing. We need to find more wild animals now."

I hate to admit it but Cho - Hee is right. We need to get back to searching again.

Suddenly a big thumping sound can be heard like something big is coming in our direction. A large wild boar with red-eye and a scar on the right eye appears in front of us.

"Don't tell me this guy came out because you wiped out a group of its kind."

"Shit…There is no time for us to think about that now.", I draw the sword. Honestly, I don't know whether should we even fight this thing or run back.

Despite my level being this high if I can't really control it then it's meaningless.

"Let's just run back Alvin. We shouldn't fight something like that with our experience."

I know it's a wise decision to run away but somehow, I will be disappointed if I run away now.

"I am unable to control the output of my magic that's the problem, isn't that right?"

I materialize my fire spell on the blade of the sword as I visualize flame engulfing the blade making it sharper.

"Alvin, what are you doing? That thing is coming for us!"

Wild Boar rushed toward us at full speed. I tried to dodge the first attack and make a big full sweep with my sword and cut down his head without any effort.

As I killed that wild boar. The blade on my sword also melted down.

"You really killed him. I didn't know magic spells can be used in that way." Cho - Hee was standing behind with a surprised face.

"Well, even I didn't know that I just guessed it should work." Looking at my sword now I am not even surprised. Honestly, this sword that I took from the bandits held out the burning flames for a pretty short time.

"Looks like I have to search for another weapon, once we get to the capital."

"Don't worry, at least we got some food now." Cho – Hee walks to the Wild Boar's corpse.

"Come on help me carry this to the camp."

Well, it should be enough for now. We have enough food for everyone at the moment. Let's get back from this forest before we attract something else.
