Chapter 26 - The Harvest Flowers

Lia is helping her mother to cut flowers in the garden. That day, they received a large number of cut flower orders. Meanwhile, Ares couldn't help, because of course, the boy had already left for school.

Sekar finally asked for help from two young men in her village to help harvest flowers. As is her custom, she often calls the two of them to help, if the orders that come in are not able to be carried out by herself and the girl.

And be a collaboration that is carried out compactly and harmoniously between the four people. With great enthusiasm, Lia cut stem by stem of the chrysanthemum flower. Neatly, she also grouped them in one color which she would later tie into the number according to the order.

There are 40 types of species in this flower, while the varieties themselves can reach up to thousands of flower varieties. In Lia's garden, several types are planted. For example, in the type of chrysanthemum asters, there are several colors planted, namely: white, yellow, peach or orange, and purple.

Not only aster chrysanthemums, but there are also other types, namely: lollipop chrysanthemums (white and purple), pompom chrysanthemums (green, white, and orange), standard chrysanthemums (white, yellow, and pink) whose flower sizes can be as large as the base drink.

In addition, the remixed chrysanthemum is very beautiful, where there are two kinds of colors on the petals, namely: white and purple, then red and yellow which combine to make a beautiful combination.

Those flowers adorn Lia's family garden. Indeed, not all types of chrysanthemum they plant, because basically, they plant according to market needs.

The plan to add flower varieties has been around for a long time, but they are waiting for the right time to start while waiting for sufficient capital. And presumably, that dream will soon come true as the construction of a greenhouse and mini garden near the garden will be aimed at visiting tourists.

Lia and her family, it seems that are also planning to add other flower varieties besides chrysanthemum. For example, cut roses are still rare in the area. The need for roses, usually taken from other areas or even other cities.

On that basis, they want to have these varieties of roses, so that consumers like florists or anyone else, no longer need to go out of town and pay expensive shipping costs to get roses.

---

"There are fifty bunches of white aster chrysanthemums, Ma'am. Want more?" asked Bagus—one of the young men who helped harvest the flowers.

"Yes, Gus. Good. Add five more bundles, okay? Just now someone else ordered from another florist," said Sekar while checking her notes.

Bagus nodded, then walked back to the garden. At the same time, Lia came with Aji with cut flowers that were different in color from what Bagus brought.

"Tired, huh?" Mother asked again with a smile when she saw her daughter walking closer carrying the flowers she had cut.

"Hehe, yes. But I'm happy, any way I'm not so tired because it's Aji who brought the flowers. Lia brought the rest," said the child cheerfully.

"So how much is it all?" Sekar asked while examining the flowers in front of her.

"Twenty-five bunches of yellow daisies, Ma'am," Aji answered firmly.

"If Lia picks fifteen bunches of orange aster chrysanthemums, Ma'am."

"Hmmm ... everything is according to the record. Oh yeah, just checked the standard chrysanthemum or not, huh?" Sekar asked while massaging her chin because the customer asked about the flower stock.

"Eh, is there Aji?" Lia asked as she turned to the young man. It seems that Lia didn't check the standard chrysanthemum area so she didn't know.

"Wow, I didn't check the white area either. Or I'll just go there, Mrs. Sekar. Please help. Bagus, he's still in the garden, right?"

"Oh yeah, it's good it's still there. Earlier, Mother asked for help to pick the white aster chrysanthemum again. Please, Ji. The standard white chrysanthemum is ten bunches. Then after it's finished, take a break first," said Sekar, to which Aji nodded in understanding.

The young man then returned to the garden, while Lia decided not to go to the garden anymore because she had to wrap the flowers that had been cut earlier.

Packaging of cut flowers is done by trimming the ends of the stems first so they are parallel. Then, they are put together using rubber before being packaged using white paper made from Plano-sized do slash, which is divided into four parts.

"Drink first, Lia," said Sekar when she saw her daughter returning to work.

"Yes, Ma'am. Just wait, Aji and Bagus."

"Ohhh okay. If that's the case, Mother will accompany Dad first, okay? Here are the notes, later Lia will help correct the amount," said Sekar gently.

"Okay, ready, Ma'am."

After delegating the task to her daughter, Sekar went inside to take care of Bimo, who was still watching TV when she was just going to the garden.

---

"Dad? Well, why are you even daydreaming?"

Hearing the voice of Sekar's wife, Bimo's consciousness immediately returned after drifting away from somewhere.

"Oh, Mother. How? Is there any difficulty in harvesting? Don't forget, when you're packing, be careful. So that the flowers are not damaged. You keep an eye on Lia, okay? Sometimes the child likes to be careless when it comes to picking flowers." Without being asked, Bimo immediately conveyed messages that must be done when packing flowers to reduce the risk of damage.

Such is Lia's father. He is a farmer who always wants to provide the best for his customers. In addition to the quality of their cultivation, of course, the problem of packing and shipping must be carried out with good procedures so that they arrive at the customer's address in prime condition.

"Yes, Dad yes. Everything is under control. There is Bagus and Aji, who used to help according to my father's advice because the orders that came in were very grateful," said Sekar calmly, patting her husband's shoulder gently.

"Yes. Anyway, I have to make sure that everything is in order and that none of the flowers are badly damaged. Sorry for the message later. Also, make sure the flowers you choose are in good condition. Don't love what's broken. One more thing, give me a bonus."

"Hihihi, yes Dad yes. Oh my gosh, if that's the case, Dad still doubts Mom and Lia, please," Sekar teased, pinching her husband's arm gently.

"No, it's not like that, I'm just reminding you. Because customer satisfaction is number one. Don't let them give up buying at our place. Later the sustenance will be far away," said Bimo seriously.

"Yes Sir!"

"Ah, this mother looks like Lia."

"Why? Not the other way around, eh? Hihihi."

"Oh yes, too. You're the mother," said Bimo with a small laugh. The two middle-aged people seemed to enjoy the simple togetherness that was created between them.

Bimo wanted to go to the garden. Although he couldn't help it, he only intended to just watch as his favorite flowers were harvested and were about to be brought by the buyer. And for the sake of his inner satisfaction, he too will make sure to see the flowers are well packaged and see for himself that everything is going smoothly and safely.

However, Bimo realized that he had not been able to come to the garden because of his current physical condition. He didn't want to bother his wife anymore if something bad happened again as a result of his wish.

Sekar saw the anxiety behind her husband's eyes. Because of that, she gently pulled her palms together and rubbed them gently.

"Be patient Dad. In a little while, can we go to the garden together? I like to see a handyman walking back and forth from the side, right? That's just widening the road so that Dad and his wheelchair can enter the garden area," explained Sekar in full, which made Bimo look at her in disbelief.

"Seriously, Dad. But, be patient, okay? Wait so. It's not long. Some of these builders are still building greenhouses and gardens, now some of them are asking for help, that's what. And, these are all ideas from Daddy's daughter."

"Lia?"

"Hihi, yeah, who's Daddy's girl again? Wow… could there be anything else? Very dangerous."

"Oh, it's not like that, Ma'am. I'm still a bit shocked by this. It turned out to be Lia's idea. My father was touched."

"Father doesn't seem to know Lia. She loves Dad very much. She yells at telling her to widen the road because she knows her father loves the garden so much."

"But why didn't your father tell you?" asked Bimo with a little surprise.

"It's just now, Dad. Hihihi."

"Mom...."

"Dad, do you still want to be here? If so, Mother will stay in the garden again. If there's anything, just call. I'll continue the order first so I can send it right away," concluded the wife with a farewell.

Bimo nodded, then Sekar left and headed back to the garden to take care of the flower orders.

---

"Have you apologized yet, Ma'am?"

"Why? You hear too, Gus? Isn't it, you weren't home at the time, were you?"

"Yes, there are many stories. Including my father, at that time he also came to the house of Mr. Chairman Neighbor when Lia had a trial with Ana, "explained Bagus.

"What's wrong with Lia and Ana?" asked Aji who didn't know what had happened between Lia and Ana because the young man happened to be not at home.

"Hehe, it's okay, Ji. There's a bit of a problem."

"But Lia got slapped at Mr. Irwan's stall," added Bagus, which immediately made Aji swell in disbelief.

"Serious? So fierce??

"Hehe, how about not talking about it anymore? It's nothing, I'm afraid Mom is angry. Because ..."

Before Lia had finished speaking, her mother immediately interrupted who had already come back to the garden.

"Hay ... afraid Mother why earlier?"

"Oh, I remember. It's okay, really," said Lia, then chose to continue her activities. What he did was immediately followed by Bagus and Aji, who again busied themselves in wrapping the cut flowers.

"Good, Aji, what were you talking about?" Sekar asked the two young men, hoping they would tell the truth.

"Heheh, it's okay, Mrs. Sekar. Later, Mrs. Sekar will be angry with Lia when she talks about Ana."

"Hey, Gus. How is it? Speak!" Aji hissed while elbowing his colleague's arm, who immediately realized that he had slipped.

"Eh… sorry, Mom. Earlier, I was the one who asked Lia, not Lia, who discussed it specifically," said Bagus, stammering a little which made Sekar chuckle.

This was followed by laughter by Aji and Lia who saw Bagus's silly behavior. The familiarity was slightly diverted when the ringing call from Lia's cell phone echoed there.

"Sure, Ma'am. This is Evan calling," said Lia to her mother, who immediately nodded in response.

"Hello, Van. What's up?"
