Chapter 28 - The Rumor Has It

"That's temporary information that I can get. In the future, it will certainly continue to develop until an agreement is reached. However, I suspected that the CEO of the company was a good person. So even if the Orphanage will be evicted, they will replace it at an appropriate price," explained Mrs. Azam again without being asked.

"Which company is it, Ma'am?"

"The name is Galaxy Hemachandra Group. One of the biggest retail companies in Jakarta, you could even say the largest in Indonesia," replied the woman, who seemed to understand this very well.

"Emmm... the owner of the Galaxy Mall scattered in several big cities, Ma'am?"

"Exactly, Sweetheart. The CEO is still very young, his name is Mr. Stevan. He's so friendly," said Mrs. Azam enthusiastically, remembering the CEO's profile that had impressed her.

"Hmmm ... but, it's a pity that the Orphanage has to be evicted, Ma'am. Isn't the land near the Orphanage also very large?"

Lia responded with a question that was not addressed to Mrs. Azam, but the Galaxy included the CEO in it. In addition, her mind immediately drifted to the fate of the Orphanage children who lived there.

"Everything is still in the negotiation stage, Lia. Incidentally, my husband also took part in the deliberations because he was one of the owners of the vacant land. I also don't want things that are detrimental to us, if indeed the Supermarket construction will be carried out." Mrs. Azam responded.

"Initially, I was happy with the development plan, but when I heard that the Orphanage had to be evicted, I became…"

"Ahem! Ahem!"

The clearing diverted the attention of Lia and Mrs. Azam. The voice came from Mr. Azam who was now standing at the door of the house. Reflexes Lia rose from sitting, then greeted the middle-aged man respectfully.

"It's been a while, Girl?" he asked.

"Yes, Sir. How are you, Mr. Azam?" answered Lia politely.

"Fine, thanks. How's your Dad?" said the middle-aged man as he asked back.

"Thank you, Sir. My Dad feel better already."

At the same time, the Driver who had come with Lia has reappeared after receiving a call. Finally, Lia decided to just go home. Although, actually she still wants to talk a lot with Mrs. Azam. Moreover, many questions have not been fully addressed.

However, it seems that Mr. Azam was not friendly at that time. This can be seen from the look in his eyes and his smile that looks like he's forced when he hears Lia asking about the construction of a Supermarket.

That also made Lia decide to say goodbye, without continuing her conversation with Mrs. Azam. Apart from avoiding bad feelings because of Mr. Azam, the interest transaction has also been completed.

---

During the trip, Lia was mostly silent because she thought about the information provided by Mrs. Azam. She wanted to throw it out to the SS group but immediately failed to do so because Lia remembered that the information had not been conveyed to the general public. That way, She can be sure if her friends don't know about the news.

Lia couldn't imagine at all if the "Cinta Kasih" Orphanage had to be evicted because of the construction of a Supermarket. Even though it is still a discourse at this time, usually big plans will still be implemented in the end.

'I have to come to the orphanage and talk directly to Mother. Besides that, how come it's not foreign to the name of the CEO. Ah, maybe it's just my feelings…' she thought to herself.

Lia's thoughts were broken when her cell phone rang. Turns out her mother called.

Sekar: "Lia, have you missed the second monument?"

Lia: "Emmm… not yet, Mom. Just the first monument. How?"

Sekar: "I'm asking for help. After the second monument, on the left side of the road, there is a yellow gate, with no writing at all. Ask Mr. Driver for help, okay? Then, you went down for a while. Later, Mom's friend will be waiting there. Her name is Mrs. Siti, then Mrs. Siti will give you the package and accept it. It was my order, it contained mushroom chips and taro chips. I plan to take you to the Orphanage, Honey."

Sekar explained at length to Lia whose orders were accepted.

Lia: "Okay, Mom. Wow, I also wants the chips because it's delicious."

Sekar: "Yeah, that's for us too. Sorry, I'm only telling you now, because Mrs. Siti also just told me."

Lia: "It's okay, Mom. Later, if there is something that needs to be asked, I just call you."

The call ended. Turns out, coincidentally, her mother also had the same plan as Lia's plan, which was to go to the Orphanage.

Meanwhile …

Evan and Angga are meeting Mr. Haidar—the owner of the vacant land who is the last person they haven't visited. Even so, that person already knew the purpose of the two of them coming because they had previously attended the dinner together the other day.

"I agree because apart from the high price you offer, I also want this city to be more developed with the Supermarket. It will also provide new job vacancies for people around, according to the program you convey." That's what Mr. Haidar said wisely.

"That's our goal, Sir," Evan said kindly.

"Then, what about the environment around the vacant land? what are your plans?" he asked.

"The building will still be there, Sir. We will not displace or remove. Because we already have a plan on how the Supermarket will be built according to the existing land."

"Hmmm… if that's the case, that's great. But, my advice, em … this is just a suggestion, hold another meeting with the landowners and also the building owners around. So that whatever news has spread, it won't be a problem for you in the future."

Evan and Angga looked at each other as if throwing the same question at each other.

"Indeed, what are the rumors, Sir?" Evan asked at last.

"About the eviction of buildings around the land, especially the "Cinta Kasih" Orphanage. Somehow, the news spread around the neighborhood." The man answered.

Evan and Angga were silent for a moment, after hearing the advice given by Mr. Haidar who is the oldest person among the other landowners. But in the next few seconds, Evan immediately spoke up to represent his partner,

"Thank you for the information, Mr. Haidar. We will immediately implement your suggestions. We also don't want any conflict, especially with residents. And we want to try to minimize any problems, no matter how small."

"You're welcome, Mr. Evan. I believe in you. Don't hesitate to ask me for help when needed. I am ready to help and guard this grand plan voluntarily. You must be very understanding, a change will never be separated from the obstacles that stand in the way. So, everything needs preparation to deal with it. This includes the need for assistance from other parties." Thus, Haidar sincerely conveyed his intentions to Evan and Angga.

The two of them looked at each other as if hearing each other what was not spoken directly.

"Okay, Mr. Haidar. Angga, the team of Galaxy and I would like to thank you for your willingness to help."

"You're welcome, Son. May I call you that?" Haidar permission with a friendly smile.

"No problem, Mr. Haidar. With the pleasure," said Evan no less friendly.

After it was enough, Evan and Angga said goodbye to go home. During the trip, they were both silents contemplating what Haidar said.

----

"It's not wrong that from the start I thought that Mr. Haidar was a good person." Evan opened the conversation when he and Angga were already on their way home.

"Same, Van. But even so, this is not meant to be prejudiced against him, but we must also remain vigilant. We are new here and this project is not small project. We are making a cotton candy pond, there will be a lot of ants coming around." Seriously, Angga said that without taking his eyes off. He remained focused on looking ahead.

Instead of responding to his friend's words, Evan touched Angga's forehead with the back of his hand as if he was checking his temperature.

"Are you healthy, Ngga? Why is it suddenly so philosophical?" said Evan who immediately got a sharp glance from Angga.

"Okay-Okay. It's your turn to be serious, you're joking. Whatever!" Angga angry answered and chose to focus on driving again.

"That's a philosophical unusual. What's the problem? Haha ..." Evan is still teasing Angga who doesn't want to respond and chooses to go back to discussing core issues related to their project.

"Seriously, Van. As suggested by Mr. Haidar, we must immediately resolve the matter with the Orphanage people. As long as it's not too bad. Don't let the rumors continue to get bigger and wilder."

"What do you think about it?" asked Evan, who was now taking the conversation seriously.

"We go to the Orphanage, tomorrow. Your existing schedule, skip some first, change it on another day because it's not too urgent. I can arrange it all." Deftly, Angga immediately thought of everything.

"Tomorrow My Dad will come, Ngga. Are you sure to skip this one?"

"Yeah, but isn't it even more important to meet people at the Orphanage? Eh I mean, uncle Jho is also important. But ... or like this, you meet your Dad and let me come to the Orphanage. How about it??"

"Wow, that's smart!" said Evan, scratching the top of his best friend's head.

"Oh shit. Stop it!" Annoyed, Angga pushed Evan's hand away, while Evan laughed a little.

"But, who do you think is spreading the rumors? Mr. Haidar's informants haven't found the person yet."

"Hmm… maybe we need to know who, Van. But it would be better if we focus on the impact of these rumors," said Angga, still focused on driving.

"That's true and from the start we knew that there was an Orphanage there, right? How could we possibly get rid of that place just like that? The Supermarket building design already exists. The eviction of the Orphanage is not on our to-do list."

"Yes, Van. It's normal, a new project like I said earlier. There must be gravel. The important thing is that we prepare well to deal with this problem as soon as possible, so it doesn't get worse. I'm afraid this will become a kind of trap to put pressure on our side, for whatever purpose."

Evan nodded in approval of his friend's analysis. What Angga said was not wrong. Galaxy Group has often tackled big projects and there are always obstacles in the way. So, wouldn't it be surprising if the plan to build a Supermarket is starting to show some obstacles to overcome?
