Chapter 2 - Mind-boggling Handkerchief

When he was about to make a call back to his Daddy, Evan suddenly stopped his intention. He prefers to reply to messages from Angga first, which has also accumulated quite a lot.

Never get a reply from his best friend, Evan decided to call him. However, it turned out that there was no answer from Angga. His best friend deliberately rejected the call.

As he was about to send a follow-up message, he heard the sound of the door opening. Then, not until a second closed again with a loud thumping sound. Angga has arrived back home. But when the face appeared, he only seemed to look at Evan for a moment without blinking just to make sure of his friend's condition.

And after feeling that Evan was fine, he looked away and kept walking into the kitchen to put the food who he had bought. Not wanting to overreact, Evan snorted and decided to follow him into the kitchen.

---

"Nice?" Evan asked breaking the atmosphere when he saw that Angga had started to enjoy his food.

"No! Because I have annoying friend like you. Get out of the way!"

Evan snorted again, then sat on the dining table chair next to Angga. Without being asked, he took the food package that was in the crackle bag and opened it.

"Thanks."

"Not for you!"

"Then for whom? For all of you? Very greedy, Ngga. Be careful, you know!" in a serious tone, Evan warned.

Angga stopped his eating, then his eyes glanced at his best friend who had started to enjoy the food package he had opened earlier.

"Careful? why?" asked Angga with a scarred face.

"Yeah, just be careful, Ngga. Greed is a disease of the heart. Do you want to have heart disease? Remember, you're not even married."

Instantly, the young man threw a punch at Evan's shoulder which made him wince in pain. Once again, he became a victim of his best friend's pranks. And stupidly, he didn't notice at all. But even so, he was quite relieved that Evan's dialect had returned to being semi-formal. That means, he is not angry anymore.

"Ohh, so the story is that someone has agreed to get married, huh? You don't want to, do you?" Angga quipped which instantly made Evan silent. And for a moment, silence fell over the two of them. Finally, Angga spoke again.

"Van, Uncle Jho called me. He asked you," he continued.

Evan just nodded, didn't answer anything, and preferred to continue eating.

"Don't tell me you haven't called back."

"Not yet. Later. I'm too lazy to talk with him."

"Lazy because ... in the end we will talk about Berlin?"

Evan put down the spoon containing the rice he was about to eat when he heard the name called. His eyes suddenly dimmed, as his appetite was destroyed instantly.

"So... sorry, Van."

Evan took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly.

"As you already know, Ngga. Even Berlin is doing the same thing as me, isn't it?"

"Yes. Both of you went to avoid the matchmaking."

"Berlin and I don't want this at all, you know that. But Dad didn't care at all. And what pisses me off, why is it just me? Why doesn't that apply to Agatha and Andre?"

"Even Sis Agatha is free to choose who she marries. And Bro Andre ... he is also free to choose to be whatever he wants. Like emmm … be a supermodel, right?" continued Angga quietly.

Then the two fell silent, thinking about what they had just said. Evan had lost his appetite, even with Angga who immediately stopped eating because it had already run out. He rose from his seat to place his cutlery in the sink, then rejoined Evan.

---

"I think things are still up for grabs, Van. There's still time, I mean."

"But you understand how Daddy is. Moreover, the reason he uses is to advance the company."

"Since Galaxy Company was led by you, everything has gotten better. You don't even need to marry with Jayafood Sahasika, which belongs to Berlin's parents, we can still grow rapidly. There is still a lot of potentials to advance the company..."

"And there's no need to use this matchmaking path," continued Evan lazily, then leaned his back on the chair he was sitting on.

"You already have a plan?"

"I don't even want to think about this, Ngga. Ahhhh... that's it, I'm tired today. It's all because of you, that's why I'm not feeling well." Evan glanced sharply at Angga who immediately grinned widely. He knew what his friend meant.

"Yes, I know. Sorry about that. You can refuse if you don't want to come. After all, Van... this city is nicknamed The City Of Flowers. So naturally many florists. Besides, you already know you have allergies, why did you even run away here?" slightly annoyed Angga answered not wanting to lose.

"Ck! You forgot what the real task here is? You are stupid! Not only running away, but we want to meet people to collaborate with Galaxy. How is it?!" This time, Evan was again angered by Angga's annoying behavior.

Evan's mood had started to improve. But when he faced his friend's ridiculous behavior, his mood was broken again. Feeling exhausted, he decided to get up from the chair to move to sit in the living room.

"Hehehe, yes, yes. I'm sorry, I understand there are a lot of thoughts," said Angga as he got up from his seat to clean up Evan's tableware that was left just like that.

"Mind from Hong Kong!!" Evan exasperated, then walked away leaving Angga who chuckled with amusement.

"Van… Evan, wait a minute."

"Especially?"

"Whose handkerchief is this?"

The question instantly made Evan frown. For a moment he tried to remember, then decided to get closer to Angga.

"Oh, this… when I was sneezing and you were gone, someone gave me this. But, I didn't get to see her face. I was messed up at the time."

"Oooohhh, yeah. I remember! so this is the girls. I haven't had the chance to say hello yet, but I already said thank you for taking care of you, Van," explained Angga vehemently when he remembered that moment.

"Oh. Well, save it first, okay? Hey, wash it all up."

Without waiting for any answer from Angga, Evan walked back to the living room to lie down on the sofa for a moment.

---

The thing about the girl's handkerchief, which he didn't know about, seemed to have caught Evan's attention a little. Even though Angga has said thank you, but it still feels like it's still lacking.

Thanks to the handkerchief, he can sneeze freely because he already has a cloth covering to protect his nose. Unfortunately, he didn't even have time to look at who the girl was. He didn't get to see her face because to think about himself Evan was still very messed up.

Just as his mind was filled with curiosity, the ringing of his cell phone had brought Evan back to reality. Reluctantly, he got up from his bed, then grabbed it. He didn't answer the call right away. And for a moment, Evan stared at the screen of his cellphone which showed the caller's name.

Before answering, Evan decided to get up from his seat and chose to stop at a chair on the back porch of the house.

"Hello, Berlin."

"Hi. Have you arrived, Stevan Harshil?"

"Already. Around nine in the morning. I should have arrived at 8 a.m in the morning. But… aahh Angga too many events on the way."

"Hihihi, you stubborn child. What is he doing now? Let me just be mad." Berlin's distinctive melodious voice suddenly became more enthusiastic. Her chuckle illustrates how happy she is when Evan's name is called Angga.

"Hehe, you want to talk to him?"

"Oh uh… no, Evan. Later. Oh yeah, I… I called you because… Your daddy called me. It seems you haven't called him after arriving at your destination." Now Berlin's voice sounded cautious, as he conveyed his true purpose he called Evan.

---

Berlin—who was also Evan's high school friend, knew very well what this man's nature was like. Moreover, coupled with the discourse of matchmaking which is predicted to be implemented as soon as possible.

Similar to Evan, Berlin also did not agree with the plan. Because he already considers Evan like his own brother. And more importantly, Berlin already has a man who she loves.

"Yeah, after I finish calling you… I'll call him. Even though Daddy has contacted Angga, it's still not enough," Evan complained in an annoyed tone.

"I know you're angry with Uncle Jho, but… maybe he just wants to make sure you get to your destination safely, Evan."

"Ck! But it seems, he doesn't think about my feelings and yours either."

After Evan said that, no one spoke again. There was only the roar and sigh of the two of them.

"After your business and mine are done, how about we talk about this matter? I think it's not too late. I will also talk privately with my parents."

Evan didn't answer right away. He heard her take a deep breath, then exhale slowly.

"In that case, okay. Oh yeah, would you like to chat with Angga? Looks like the child should be distracted, because after this I want to call my Dadd. I don't want him to talk nonsense."

"Hihihi, emm … alright. I will contact him after this."

"No need. Let Angga just contact you. Thanks, Berlin."

Evan hung up the call, then got up from sitting to meet Angga who was lying on the sofa in the living room.

"Call Berlin now," Evan said matter-of-factly.

"Hah? Why? You guys fighting??!" Suddenly Angga got up from his bed and looked at Evan confusedly.

"Ck! Yes, it's okay to call. Hurry up, she's waiting. Just said I wanted to talk to you, Ngga. Just go!"

"Didn't we just talk to you?"

"Yes of course. But she asked you. Let's hurry, poor Berlin waiting." A little loudly, Evan said as he patted Angga's shoulder.

Without waiting for another protest from Angga, Evan just walked away and walked to the dining room. Turns out, he was still hungry. However, his gaze fell on the handkerchief that Angga had asked earlier. Immediately, Evan thought back to the girl who was the owner of the handkerchief.

'Hmmm, who the hell is she?'
