Sonny’s POV
The panting breath of my wolf crested the cold night air. White clouds pierced through the darkness as I ran harder and harder towards the packhouse.
I had to get to my pack. Vincent had mindlinked me to tell me there had been a small fire and even though he said no one was hurt, panic still filled me.
I was their Alpha – they were my responsibility.
Bursting through the greenery of the forest that surrounded us, I shifted back to my human form. Just as I did, Vincent ran up to me with a pair of shorts and a shirt.
“What happened?” I quickly asked.
“It seems that a shed at the west side of the packhouse was set on fire. No one was hurt.”
Hearing Vincent’s reply had me concerned. Why would someone do that?
“Could it have been some of the kids messing with things they shouldn’t have?”
I didn’t want to believe that any of them would do that, but kids will be kids.
“No, we accounted for all the children. That was actually the first thing I thought of.”
