Mirha-
The place we currently lived in didn't belong to us. After the kidnapping incident, pretty much everyone in the neighbourhood was aware of what had happened and that we had successfully escaped a horrible ending.
The woman whom had disguised as an old lady to us was never seen from that day on either.
When I helped my brother get on his feet from the carriage he was being kidnapped in, I told him we're not going back to the village. That we'd go away, somewhere else. Somewhere safer.
But he replied, "No mirha. I think from now our lives will be easier than before."
I didn't understand what he had meant untill I took in my gaze the boy who'd been fighting the kidnappers.
He seemed to be around my age, he had a tall stick-like figure. His face was frail and pale but he had the most beautiful pair of eyes I had seen; aqua blu with tints of brown In the center around his pupil. I saw his brown hair was smeared with dust and dirt.
It seemed he'd been extremely tired, his panting breath gave him away. 'Our lives would get easier?' How? Who'd help us?
And the boy standing infront of me seemed to be the answer to all my questions right now.
****
"Kaiser!" I ran after him, panting.
"Stop, Kaiser. Please." In the middle of the road I stopped running to catch my breath whilst pleading he'd stop.
Kaiser was the name of the boy who'd saved my brother that day. I was forever thankful to him that day but now Im even more thankful.
"Your stamina is so weak and you want a day off?"
He read me like a book, every intention and every thought I had on my mind, he knew.
Despite his frail appearance, he was extremely strong and skilled in swordsmenship. When I learned of this, I begged him everyday to teach me swords-fighting.
I knew how to sword fight: I had been learning it since I was 6. But his techniques were different. They were unique, better and most importantly stronger.
So everyday I'd wait outside his room, cook food for him, and help him in tedious jobs and pretty much go anywhere he would go. My brother had foolishly mistaken that I had fallen in love with him and was trying to win his heart. Although for the latter part that was true but for a different reason.
Kaiser never questioned why I did what I did, he just accepted it. I thought he'd say and ask why im doing all this and what I want but none of that happened untill my brother who'd been extremely annoyed at Kaiser and I, stepped in.
He had us sat in a room, facing each other on opposite ends. My brother was stood up with his arms folded across his chest. "Mirha, I know you've been going around Kaiser quiete alot these days." He spoke, his eyes trained on Kaiser except Kaiser was lazily humped back on the sofa, staring elsewhere.
I didn't know what to say so I kept quiet untill Hadi spoke up again, "Mirha, you do know that if you like someone you don't have to chase after them. Make them come to you."
I heard Hadi approach me and looked at me with assuring eyes. What was he on about? Liking someone? Who, when did I like someone.
As though he was waiting for a response from me I just stared at him dumbfounded and Kaiser too before he broke out into laughter.
"You like me?" He asked, his laughter still on-going.
"What!" I jumped up from my position and faced my brother. What ever was he thinking. "That's not it!"
Kaiser uproared into cheeky laughter once agaun as if he knew everything but purposely tried to not clear the misunderstanding.
I saw my brother get annoyed at Kaiser when he took him by his collar, "Are you laughing at me sisters feelings for you?!"
"No."
"You Idiot, I'm going to beat you."
"Hadi, let go of him!"
"Mirha-"
I took Hadis hands off of Kaiser and asked him to calm down and sit. This misunderstanding shouldn't go on for any longer however I was reluctant to tell Hadi why I was chasing after Kaiser; Would he get upset that I can sword fight but he can't? Would he think I'm being selfish and that I'm a horrible sister?
After much hesitation I began to explain, Hadi was surprised. He went quiet and seemed to be thinking about something.
My hands were sweating, my guilt was resurfacing and my heart beat rose every second Hadi was silent.
But all my worries were in vain. Hadi came up tp me and took me in his embrace. I teared up slightly.
Hadi petted my head and wished me good luck. He then proceeded to talk to Kaiser. "Now that my sister wants your help, you should help her. She did all that for you."
Kaiser shrugged, "I was going to anyways. Was just waiting for her to ask."
Upon hearing his response, I was infuriated. I was running around this man, hurt myself many times in the process and he knew exactly why I was doing it but purposely didn't want to say anything untill I did. The darn wickedness!
